While Nick has done some groundwork in reducing expectations for this year as well, I could see him failing to meet those low expectations and Nick ending up noticeably disappointed. I expect for him to promise content, but possibly renege on that if he feels his reception is lukewarm outside of the superfans there for the "YouTube corner".

Nick was basically at the peak of his e-fame at the time of the last Anime Matsuri. Since then he's gotten in feuds with the VTuber world that included him insulting its fanbase pretty harshly in addition to all the other controversies and changing content that don't as directly involve anime. There's also another wrinkle that I haven't seen brought up. In 2022 Anime Matsuri was held at the end of July. It was a couple weeks after that, in August, that Vic lost at the Court of Appeals. In principle, many of the attendees at the convention may have been under the impression, for some reason, that he had a chance. It's hard to not conclude that part of the reason Nick has ran from his anime association has been how that ended up - not just losing but losing in an extremely comical way.

Again, I think the celebrity LARP is something that he loves, so I doubt he will stop going to Matsuri of his own accord. I'm just not sure how big a draw he'll be especially when he's doing at least 2 major in-person events for his dedicated fans to go to.

That's why I was emphasizing the 'more than once'. While I've never felt the need myself, I know that there are people who refuse to learn anything unless they've had personal experience. But I think that some faggots can be very persuasive, with their 'how do you know you don't like it if you've never tried it?', so I'll accept that it might be theoretically possible to have sucked one dick and not be gay.
