Did it really happen? Seems so bizzare, like we stepped into one of those crazy Twilight Zone episodes...
  • You were *forbidden* to leave your house. Outdoor activities/events were closed/forbidden. This was done against human rights.
  • Businesses were *closed*. How fucked up was that? Governments just came in and told people no; you cannot run your business.
  • People were eager to *tear eachother apart* for not complying. You could get mean looks, even harassed for not wearing those pointless masks.
  • Those dreadful masks were forced on everyone. What was even the point? People just seemed to follow orders and not question anything.

Who the fuck are you to claim "retrospective"?

In my area Covid is seeing a huge resurgence and people are acting like it's a minor inconvenience.

Whatever the fuck your views on the vaccine are, Covid-19 is a virus that killed a fuck ton of people.

Covid-19 is a virus that killed a fuck ton of people.
No it didn't, that was an already existing disease.

people are acting like it's a minor inconvenience
it is

if you're a covid panic retard: there's a vaccine and multiple effective medicines available now

if you're a normal person with a brain: covid was almost always a minor inconvenience unless you're very old or a deathfat

there's no reason to freak out about covid now. you've run out of even semi-legitimate reasons to claim everyone should be triple-masked and holed up in their houses. if you still care about covid you're an idiot

I knew it was bullshit for certain once they started tearing down all the "surge capacity" completely unused. Anybody remember double-maksing? I think Biden did that for like three days before even he realized it was totally retarded. Of course there were the atrocities like intentionally sticking COVID patients in nursing homes or vaccine mandates for experimental vaccine candidates, but also a few laughs:

-That stupid looking picture of capeshit characters bowing before Tiktok heroes
-One way aisles in the supermarket
-The entire concept of indoor dining with those dumbass mask mandates
-My favorite was when the flu mysteriously disappeared in 2020-2021. Must have been the Election variant!

posting two pieces of information that i will remember spitefully until i die

99% of Those Who Died From Virus Had Other Illness, Italy Says
posted March 18th, 2020. less than a week after i was asked to work from home indefinitely. preliminary data coming out of italy. shows covid deaths are overwhelmingly hitting the demographic of 70+. overwhelmingly hitting people who have multiple existing illnesses

Estimating the asymptomatic proportion of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases on board the Diamond Princess cruise ship, Yokohama, Japan, 2020
posted March 12th, 2020. even earlier. shows the estimated percentage of asymptomatic covid patients to be 17.9%

as far as i know none of these statistics changed during the entire pandemic, except recent research showing covid having an even higher asymptomatic rate than originally guessed at with the Diamond Princess (40%, according to https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamanetworkopen/fullarticle/2787098 (A))

as soon as the pandemic started it was known who the vulnerable populations were (and who was not vulnerable at all, namely people 0-25ish), and that it was so contagious the reported infections were absolutely under-reported (anyone remember the ohio health director or whoever it was getting yelled at for spreading panic when saying there were probably 10,000 cases in ohio already?)

if you were willing to look at the factual data nothing changed during the entire pandemic. that age spread looks exactly like it did on my state's health department page up until i stopped looking in 2021 or so). the risk factor was always 70+ and having multiple existing illnesses

now i keep seeing data coming out saying that excess deaths actually peaked in 2021/2022, and in some places actually had lower than normal levels in 2020 (when the news kept on reporting about temporary corpse holding tents or whatever)

people who were willing to shut down the country over this virus were idiots. if you still can't admit you were wrong to shut down the country you're traitors to america, in my opinion

Anybody remember double-maksing?
Oh, yeah. I remember rolling my eyes at a family member telling me I "probably" had to do that just to be safe:story: Thought she was taking the piss out of me.

Really, that all solidifies how easily people can buy into actual misinformation and propaganda. Instead, this time it's the certified professionals and fact-checkers telling you what to think.

I would add our brave nurses doing the river dance at the hospital while they're supposedly swamped with COVID patients but that was more cringe than funny.

What blows my mind is people were almost mandated to take a a still-experimental drug under EUA under penalty of destroying their livelihood. And it was done entirely through executive orders and regulations. Not a single vote.

Of course we let the CDC make its own laws too. Unreal.

At least there was no Two Minutes' Banging Pots here or whatever the hell was going on in some of these countries.

All that happened around me was some nursing home put up a sign. It came loose and blew away at some point and I never saw it again. I think they took down the sign posts too.

The people who were able to stand firm in their convictions and refused the poke & other bullshit laws deserve a medal, not just an apology.

There ought to be, in the upcoming years or later, some deep expose against how these corrupt politicians, health organizations, etc. just fucked the whole country up for no reason other than a dick measuring context and keep the docile lambs under control, which wasn't even that hard to do, because a. Joe Schmo just wants to be left alone with his family/grill and b. most were more than happy to be in their pseudo pods and rot away on the couch.

I have never heard of that weasel Fauci in a minute, and I don't wish to ever again.

My area was more "lax" for lack of a better term. Went to the gym, for example, during COVID, only kept my mask on when I wasn't working out, because fuck that.

This was done against human rights.
Maybe it's time you guys reconsider being so dependent on something that can be taken away so easily.
Anyway, I was able to basically avoid most restrictions. Sports and shopping were an exception to the 4 weeks going out was "banned", so I simply went out as I would usually do. Most annoying stuff was having to wear mask while in stores, but to me it was never that much of a big deal, as I have worn surgical masks almost daily for like a decade at work. And I used FFP3s when I had to work in hazardous areas before so it wasn't new.

I mostly ignored it, it didn't seem that strange. Maybe the area I'm in is less pozzed than others, but basically everyone put on masks and sighed to each other, then as soon as they were allowed to not do that anymore they stopped doing it and everyone went about their business.

It's really nothing to still be ruminating and getting mad about, is that like a condition of people who insist on constantly watching the news? Either way still harping about Covid is cringe.

It was ridiculous in a lot of ways, but that simply qualified it as a normal and expected extension of clown world.

Yeah, it was a dream for contrarian assholes who like antagonizing niggercattle. Not that I'd know personally or anything.

It was the first, truly "mask off" moment that showed how much contempt those in charge had for the rest of us and our concerns. In fact, 2020 in general was a"mask off" moment for our society as a whole.
It completely changed how I understood the relationship between the state and citizen and how I believed the public would react when their most basic civil liberties are suspended. Suffice it to say, I've gotten much more serious about firearm ownership and training than I was before COVID.

Wonder what caused more actual lung damage: China Coof or all the smoke from the burning shit from the summer of love 2020.

Yeah, it was a dream for contrarian assholes who like antagonizing niggercattle. Not that I'd know personally or anything.

Between coof and the riots, I got my first gun in 2020.
