That is how the GOP could've gotten to 54 Senate Seats in Jan 2023, not by "dumping Trump and MAGA" which would have caused even more Democrats to take power due to Trump aligned voters staying home.

Most of the GOP in Washington still keep their positions, still get paid, still get their kickbacks for voting on lobbyist stuff. The only goal is to keep as many non-careerists out of Washington as possible. They aren't trying to win. They are trying to keep the "game" going.

why are the majority of them so keen on indicting him, then?
There is a sizable chunk of likely voters who won't vote for Trump if he is convicted of a crime. It doesn't much matter if the prosecution is bullshit, since these voters are the "decency" crowd, aka empty skulled church women.

He grows stronger every time he gets indicted, why would those people suddenly change their minds for a conviction

The problem being that the DNC is utterly reliant on a base that's full of indoctrinated fuckwits who think that real socialism is just around the corner and if we need more money to pay $25/hr minimum wage jobs just print more money it's ok and why should landlords be allowed to raise their rent that's just not fair
People like to talk about demographics and shit and how the GOP/conservatives will never win elections again, and I get that, but the DNC has far bigger issues in the future. Like you say, their party platforms now can basically be boiled down to gibs and I love black people. How the fuck is that going to appeal in the future when you have the unironic retards leading the party, instead of the more conniving grifters like Schumer and Pelosi. The Squad and those types will literally run the party into the ground without the tard wranglers around.
At this rate, MAGA will become its own party, kicking the GOP down to 3rd party status.
God I hope. The GOPe needs to fucking die if things are going to even get slightly better and they deserve to die as a functioning political party more than the DNC does. The DNC at the very least has it's political machine together for accumulating power for the guys at top, the GOP can't even do that and just loves 'losing with grace'.

The only alternative to Total Elephant Death is complete MAGA subversion of the party, and it looks like that is all but confirmed to happen at this point with how much support Trump still has.

Sometimes I really wish 1/6 was as bad as some retards like to imagine it was. Seeing all those politicians cowering under their desks is still a hilarious image though.

Hi Feds!

Can you imagine the 80's action flick they could make out of Trump stealing the Presidential Limo and Jan 6th?

View attachment 5268410
Its hilarious how badly their propaganda backfired on that. To steal the limo an old man in his 70's would have had to smash through bulletproof glass with his bare hands, and then fight off multiple secret service agents. Admittedly, if you can smash through bulletproof glass with your bare hands mere flesh and bone isn't much a threat, but still...

They'd end up making Trump the ultimate martyr. His death would be THE polarizing moment that would cripple American politics indefinitely.
That's why I compare him to Caesar or the Gracci Brothers. We're definitely in the middle of a Roman Republic End Stage era. Shit is gonna get lit. I imagine it was no fun living in that chaos for 50 years and it was no wonder they gratefully welcomed the dictatorship of Augustus.

Admittedly, I have the same fears here. It seems that the GOPe has simply gone full insanity.

It's 🌈 optimism, but I really would love to see Trump and RFK Jr run as 3rd party candidates on different tickets and smoke both parties.

To be honest the real Mask off Moment for the GOP was McCain shooting down Obamacare repeal despite having voted for it before then immediately fleeing to retirement.
But he got to be a MAVERICK like in the ol serials he used to watch! He got aaaaalll the aspats for like a whole week till he became satan again and then his tumor, the true american hero in the story, did the needful.
So that your betters can obviously put it into their pockets/projects/friends/families pockets. Even a crayon eater gets that.
And gibs for parasites, never firget the gibs for parasites.

True, but would it devolve into fire and brimstone or people grumbling on facebook (while feds perma shut them up)? No idea, what I am sure is that a Trump successor is a very unlikely thing to just pop up in those times.

gratefully welcomed the dictatorship of Augustus.
Augustus wasn't the singular focal point of all government, he purposefully avoided assuming the Dictator powers, instead he just accumulated a bunch of offices at the same time which effectively gave him these powers. To the common pleb it appeared as the Republic was still functioning as normal, but everyone knew Augustus was the boss. It pacified the oligarchic class by allowing them to have positions of power and partake in rulership (of provinces) but it was absolutely fucking clear that if you crossed the line you were going to be executed and your entire family thrown from the Tarpeian Rock as their assets were seized. Augustus is one of those wise leaders that understood the necessity of creating a dance floor and mandating that dancing only occur on it, otherwise you get thrown from the club. The founders of the US were also quite cognizant of this dynamic, right now we have way too many people dancing outside of the designated box and its starting to fuck shit up. Outside groups like the FBI/NSA/CIA and the DOJ are fucking up the natural flow of things.

Except that the Squad types are fully entrenched into the education system indoctrinating the next generation into their ideology. The DNC might blow up, but the next iteration will be even more ideologically possessed. Lots of movements survive retardation as long as you have a steady supply of true believers.

The problem is that to get these true believers you need to take away their capacity for rational and independent thought, effectively making them useless in any role that basically holds things together. They'll get heart surgery from doctors that never learn to tell arteries from veins, they will eat food from chefs who can't read recipes or expiry dates, they'll be driven by bus drivers who never heard the word "maintenance" before.

Now Biden's cabal want to end remote work, since Mr. Shekelstein must have complained hard enough.

But their base is full blown into it.

Scoop: Biden pushes to end remote work era for feds (Archive)

President Biden is calling for his Cabinet to "aggressively execute" plans for federal employees to work more in their offices this fall after years of working remotely, according to an email sent Friday to every Cabinet member and obtained by Axios.

Why it matters: It's Biden's most overt push yet to get federal employees to return to their offices — a dynamic many businesses also have struggled with as Americans continue to embrace remote work despite the pandemic waning.

Driving the news: In an email to the Cabinet on Friday, White House Chief of Staff Jeff Zients wrote: "We are returning to in-person work because it is critical to the well-being of our teams and will enable us to deliver better results for the American people."

He added: "As we look towards the fall, and with the end of the COVID-19 public health emergency, your agencies will be implementing increases in the amount of in-person work for your team. This is a priority of the President — and I am looking to each of you to aggressively execute this shift in September and October."
Zients wrote that the changes will not eliminate working remotely but rather combine that flexibility "while ensuring we have the in-person time we need to build a strong culture, trust, and interpersonal connections."
A Government Accountability Office report published last month found that "17 of the 24 federal agencies used on average an estimated 25 percent or less of the capacity of their headquarters buildings."
Between the lines: Zients has made returning to the office a priority for both the White House and the broader executive branch since he became chief of staff in February to improve the office culture.

In March, Zients opened the White House's Navy Mess for in-person dining for the first time during Biden's tenure.
Last week, the mess hosted a guest chef from Rasika — a popular Indian restaurant in D.C. — and there has been a push for more team-building events such as happy hours.
Zients also has started conducting in-person town halls in which lower-level staffers can ask him and others questions (there is a Zoom option for people who can't fit in the room).
Zients' senior staff meetings in the mornings and evenings also are in-person with Zoom options if needed.
Zoom in: Several current and former Biden White House officials told Axios that it was difficult to foster a healthy culture during the first year when the pandemic was still raging.

Many aides recalled being sad at having to be on a Zoom with colleagues even though they would be just a few offices over.
Some mid-level and junior aides also resented the White House's two-tier system in which some employees were deemed essential to work in the office and others remained remote.
As Zients has pushed to end remote work, some staffers have complained and resisted — a dynamic in many American workplaces.
Zoom out: Biden has been talking about bringing federal workers back to the office since the spring of 2022 with limited success.

In his State of the Union in March 2022, Biden pledged that "the vast majority of federal workers will once again work in person."
The White House has been gradually opening up since the summer of 2021 as staff returned, holiday celebrations resumed and White House tours came back. The Truman bowling alley re-opened in the fall of 2022.
In April, the Office of Management and Budget ended maximum telework and sent out further instructions for agencies to develop plans to increase in-person work. Zients' letter aims to speed up that move.
The White House declined to comment.
The big picture: The political pressure on the White House to curb remote work has included demands from Republicans in Congress, who have blamed telework for delays and backlogs in agencies' work.

Democrats, advocacy groups and some unions have largely blamed lack of funding for such issues and cite telework as a key tool in recruiting staff.
Some senior administration officials never fully moved to D.C., including former Labor Secretary Marty Walsh.
What they're saying: In her third inaugural address in January, D.C. mayor Muriel Bowser raised alarm bells about the city's rising number of vacant office spaces.

"We need decisive action by the White House to either get most federal workers back to the office most of the time or to realign their vast property holdings for use by the local government, by nonprofits, by businesses and by any user willing to revitalize it," she said.
Telework's economic impact has been significant for many cities, including Washington, D.C., where local businesses and politicians have been pressuring the White House to demand more in-person work.
This week, former New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg penned an op-ed in The Washington Post on the topic:
"The federal government should lead by example, and the president should keep his promise," Bloomberg wrote. "Taxpayers deserve immediate action and hard deadlines — and the better service and stronger capital city that will result."

Just needs to be enough to keep it together. Look at the Soviet Union and China for examples.

A few thoughts on this.

1. The squad types are currently freaking out because Gen Z males are swinging conservative. They're not supposed to do that. They're supposed to calmly sit there and eat shit as their teachers explain that as straight white males they're literally the cause of all grief and suffering in the world. And this is still when they're young -- they'll only get more conservative from here. Just another complex system changing in ways when the leftist faith believes they're required to stay static.
2. No amount of steady supply of true believers can overcome a fundamental incompatibility with reality. Yes, they might be able to push their eco-marxism on us over the next few decades, but in the end, people won't work for free and kale and quinoa aren't provided to Walmart by the free shit fairy. Eventually their pipe dreams will burst. The question is, how much damage will they do before reality slaps them down, and will the pushback nullify it?
3. The powers that be are starting to warn of two things of note -- the competency crisis, where the equity cult has pushed out straight white men in lieu of females and blacks and other incompetents in the name of the left's religion, and the fact that gen Y and Z have given up on the idea of work ethic since boomers stole any chance of them getting ahead in life. Leftist ideas such as diversity and equity and the like are "nice to haves." When the lights start going out or planes start colliding on runways (we've literally come inches away from this multiple times this year due to dumbfuck token diversity hire pilots and air traffic controllers) people will demand shit start working again, even if evil white men have to be the ones that fix it.
4. The education system feels primed for a shakeup, but I don't know where it'll come from. The left has decided the local avatar of the state -- teachers -- have parental rights over the children that law mandates parents put in front of them, and that parents' rights end when the teachers disagree with that decision. What are they doing with this power? Tricking children into thinking they're gay and giving them chemical castration drugs. There are very few third rails of politics left, but "fucking with people's kids" is one of them. And they're losing control over the messaging on this, so they can't just wall of silence it like they have the rampant pedophilia and kiddy diddling teachers do.

Augustus wasn't the singular focal point of all government, he purposefully avoided assuming the Dictator powers, instead he just accumulated a bunch of offices at the same time which effectively gave him these powers. The point being that after decades of coups, chaos, civil war, street fighting, assassinations, and blatant backroom deals splitting power, Augustus took over. He dressed his power in the trappings of democracy and kept the titles and positions while neutering them and becoming a king, something the Romans despised, in everything but name.

Don't get me wrong; I admire Augustus. He was wise, he fixed shit. He saved the State, Roman civilization, and made it stronger and better equipped to manage an Empire. But make no mistake, he was a modern small "d" dictator, even if not a Roman capital "D" Dictator.

We are really rolling the dice here and hoping we get an Augustus and long term stability and not a Stalin or 3rd Century Crisis free for all with rotating leaders every few months.

????
Are you serious. When has anyone ever listened to their teachers in school for anything ever?

It's only persecution if you're innocent, is the idea. These people are stupid enough to think we have a functioning justice system still, so they think he's being unfairly treated, unless he's convicted. That or it was a poll specifically worded in order to get that result, but Trump would lose 38% of Republican voters if convicted.
