Because kicking the can down the road has worked out so well for him thus far.

Well I know in criminal cases the first continuance is granted pretty much by default.Do you have to give a reason when you ask for a delay? If so, what are the chances we’ll get to see his reasons? I hope it’s not granted, been looking forward to seeing what happens nexxxTtt. I feel like he might have had a better chance if his request was filed by a lawyer because they could say “hey we just got hired and I haven’t got time to read all this shit by Thursday” or explain that they were due in court for something else that day.
Generally yes, it doesn't have to be a good one but it should be if you want the court to like you. Most of the time you want the court to like you, so, yes.Do you have to give a reason when you ask for a delay? If so, what are the chances we’ll get to see his reasons? Aaaah that explains all those "Nothing happens on the 24th, stalker". Technicality Tomlinson strikes again. Oh, you sly living blob of adipocytes you...Pat just filed a motion to try to delay the hearing:

He doesn't appear to have a lawyer. It's THREE DAYS before the hearing. He knows he's fucked.
Edit: if it gets delayed Quasi can add all the new evidence on video of him saying he's not paying.
Is that because the perp is in jail and hasn’t had access to a lawyer yet though? Piggy had Miller Lawyers draw up his amortisation plan (and then since their own fees were included, I assume he stiffed them) but it’s not like he hasn’t had legal advice and plenty of time to get more.Well I know in criminal cases the first continuance is granted pretty much by default.
He’s going to ask for time to find a lawyer, then hire one at the last minute so they can file for another continuance to familiarize themselves with the case. Pat can probably stretch this to late September or early October if he really wants to.Do you have to give a reason when you ask for a delay? If so, what are the chances we’ll get to see his reasons? Oopsie doodles!Quasi's lawyer gets a chance to oppose this motion. And gets to submit exhibits in support. This could be an interesting self-own, considering all that Patso and Nikki have been blubbering about in interviews, allowing Quasi's lawyer to add all sort of interesting and relevant goodies to his response. The deadline for filing motions in this matter passed Thurday or Friday? Motions are supposed to be 5 days or more before the hearing in cases like this, but IANAL. Is Patso filing this Pro Se?

A drunken tantrum, a Pigstorm, incoming when the Judge says, "No."
Yes, on the court website it would show up if an attorney was representing him. The motion is either going to be dry boilerplate he found online or unhinged retardation, no in-between.Is Patso filing this Pro Se?
I wonder. Maybe Pat wants to flee to a new state thinking he can escape the judgement? Would that even work? What’s more likely?
A: he has found a source of funds to pay off Quasi outright, but needs more time for said sources to provide the money?
B: He thinks he has found a winning strategy, some way to appeal, or plans on counter-suing Quasi?
C: He is planning on fleeing the country?
D: He has no strategy, only a paradoxical blend of desperately flailing for any way out and smug, irrationally confident oinking. What’s more likely?

My money is on some template he found online. When will we get to read the motion?Yes, on the court website it would show up if an attorney was representing him. The motion is either going to be dry boilerplate he found online or unhinged retardation, no in-between.
Damn the pests didn't just strike a nerve they fucking hit it with a nuke.Brotherman "Slackjawed Cow" has posted a text exchange with debtor Tomlinson, which produced the gem
"I don't fat, stalker"

He's too fat to run, too fat to bike, and there's not enough roadkill of the kind he likes. Could move to Detroit though and live off of gang violence kills.
Yeah I think he’s just going to try to drag this out as long as he can. I also think he believes his in camera appearance to ask for the continuance will be his chance to tell the judge in private why he doesn’t have to pay. Pat’s magical thinking tells him he just has to keep buying time until he gets a windfall (maybe from his fantasy lawsuit against MPD) or Quasi dies. He still believes he will never pay a dime and will not suffer for it, somehow. He’s going to ask for time to find a lawyer, then hire one at the last minute so they can file for another continuance to familiarize themselves with the case. Incidentally, that shit almost always works. He’s going to ask for time to find a lawyer, then hire one at the last minute so they can file for another continuance to familiarize themselves with the case.
