Hi, this is gonna be long as fuck. Bear with me.
The above picture may show one of the greatest indictments in the way Greta is managing her charitable concern, and it's not via all the relentless travel expenses. I recognize the little dude to the right - that's Jaden Prendergast. His name came up because I saw him in comment sections on articles about Trans Lifeline, speaking of how he was a volunteer and talking up the organization. Seeing him in this picture caused me to look into him a bit more - he is, as of now, not a cow. He's a kid who has had a less than easy life and I bring him up not to encourage anyone to mock him or be cruel to him (and I know some of you won't be able to resist but do your best to try). He's just one example of how it is Trans Lifeline is a garbage fire.
So Jaden posted a picture of himself in the official Trans Lifeline Facebook in December of 2014.
Nothing wrong with this this. Jaden's working as an operator for the Lifeline. Trying to do a good thing, good for him.
Not sure when the date was on this Google Plus page (his Facebook is more or less private, another point against him being an attention-seeking cow), but now it says he works for Trans Lifeline.
He's staff at Trans Lifeline since 2014 and he's the office admin. Okay, that's cool, not his fault the place is run by a lunatic who does more harm than good. At first this seemed unremarkable until I noticed Jaden attended Job Corps.
Job Corps is awesome. It helps at risk youth develop job skills while finishing high school or getting a GED.
But it's not unrealistic to say that kids who have a great life generally don't go into Job Corps. Jaden is a transmale, not an easy life to be sure. But seeing him mention Job Corps made me wonder how old Jaden is. I couldn't find a birthdate but I did find this Prezi.
Okay, so Jaden dropped out of high school in October of 2014. He was working as a lifeline operator at Trans Lifeline in December of 2014. He says in the Prezi that he dropped out of high school for the FIRST time in October of 2014. He was a teenager. Greta had an at-risk, teenage, transmale high school drop out taking calls from suicidal trans people. What the fuck?

Jaden left home in Boston in February 2015 and went to live in a group home in LA. First time he'd ever been away from his parents. He went on to say he hoped to graduate from high school in 2016 and to have his office administration diploma from Job Corps in 2017.
I cannot commend this Jaden kid enough - with some of the trash fires we see here who use their transexual identity as a "get out of work forever" card and as a jaded way to get victim points, he's working to improve his life. But his history with Trans Lifeline raises some unsettling questions.
First, what was a teenage, recent high school drop out who was still living at home with his parents doing answering phones on a suicide hotline? Rhetorical question, but, again, what the fuck?
Second, why did he move to Los Angeles to enroll in Job Corps? I ask this because it looks like he moved there to be able to work with Trans Lifeline, but I don't know. Maybe he had a friend who wanted him to come. But it looks a bit odd that this kid who was a suicide hotline operator for Greta up and moved across the country from Boston to enroll in Job Corps in Los Angeles, later to become the Trans Lifeline office admin.
Third, as well all know, Trans Lifeline is the bacteria pudding that lines the bottom of dumpsters in the summer. If Jaden is working to get admin certification and his job is with Trans Lifeline, which it very much looks like it is, what sort of education is he going to have to help him in a new job when Trans Lifeline inevitably goes under from lack of funding/gets shut down for charitable organization violations? If this kid is forced to do scheduling - very much within the purview of an office admin - how is he able to wrangle volunteers all over the country to get on the phones? Is the reason there are so few people online to take calls because a teenager with Job Corps has been tasked with running the entire show while Greta and her creepy child bride gallivant around the country?
Fourth, does it look to anyone else like Greta may have been involved in this kid moving to LA to enroll in Job Corps? From where I am sitting it looks like she allowed someone legally considered a child to take calls from suicidal people then had him move for a job, one that she pays less in salary because it is subsidized through Job Corps. Does she work with anyone close to her age? I think Jaden is younger than child bride. He may even still be a teenager if he first dropped out of high school in 2014 and was a sophomore or freshman.
Am I completely off base, here? Is this as fucked to you guys as it is to me. Does it look like she may have preyed on a teenager to ensure she had cheap labor? Am I misconnecting dots?
Should Jaden ever see this, kudos for being a hard-working, empathetic man. This critique is not about you. It's about Greta and should she see this and crow that I am attacking you, please know I wish you well. Be safe, little dude.

Could also be why the volunteer pool is claimed to be so high with zero evidence of it. It'd look good on this kid's resume right up until the whole thing blows up in the poor fellow's face.
Or, ya know, the kid is off doing what most kids do at this time of night (hang with friends, vidya) and is actually in on the scam.
Which, considering the company he keeps wouldn't surprise me one jot. Sadly.

He could be working 12-hour days and still not make it work out well. I can't think of too many teenage high school dropouts who could schedule for such a large volunteer pool and make it work. If he's handling volunteer scheduling, correspondence, answering phones, maintaining petty cash and office expenses, scheduling crap for Greta, etc. then that would be an impossible job. Most teenagers wouldn't know that walking in - an experienced admin professional would, hence hiring a teen.

No matter how experienced you are it wouldn't make a difference in corralling the Lifeline's volunteers. If Greta's pet politics influence her screening--and let's be honest they totally fucking do--then every single one of those operators is a self-involved Rat King troon who can't be bothered to do anything unless it means they'll get pity points.
Jaden sounds like a hard-working young man at odds with some serious problems. He'd be better off as far away from Greta's monster claws as possible.

If I'm understanding this correctly, Greta hired someone who is:
- A highschool dropout (whose reasons for dropping out may or may not have to do with working for TransLifeline)
- A trans teen (i.e., likely to be very vulnerable emotionally)
- Away from his parents for the first time
- And has minimal office admin training

I doubt Greta or anyone is scheduling operators. I am certain it's sign on if you feel like it and stay on as long as you want.

Jaden dropped out of high school for the first time in October of 2014 and the first reference I can find of him serving as an operator at Trans Lifeline is December of 2014 so him dropping out may have had nothing to do with volunteering for Greta.
However, him moving to LA and becoming an admin does seem like it had everything to do with Trans Lifeline.

See, this may be me misconnecting the dots. I thought Trans Lifeline was in LA but their mailing address is totally in San Francisco. My mistake. So maybe Jaden had people he knew in LA so it was a better fit and he telecommutes to work for Greta? His Prezi indicates he's working through Los Angeles Job Corps so he didn't land in LA and then transfer Job Corps locations, but I also don't know how Job Corps works. But if he wasn't tempted to come out to LA specifically to work for Greta, part of the shockingness is wrong, for sure.
ETA: But just a part of the shockingness. How and why he went to LA is in question but there is still a lot to worry about in regards to Jaden's association with Greta.
