Here is Adam's imdb page
It's pitiful how few pre-2000 movies he has seen, it looks like he got into movies in the late 2000s but never felt a reason to go back and check out older made movies he didn't grow up on.

It is well known he will rate movies on his imdb that he doesn't finish, so looking at it pretty clear he has never tried to engage in the older movies he calls outdated.

I'm looking at his all-time favorite movie list. This one: https://www.imdb.com/list/ls000031161/

And very few movies from before 99/2000 preoccupy the list. The big one that stands out is Jodorowsky's Holy Mountain as his #1 which, ya know, that's a fair choice and a good pick. But that one's the odd duck because nearly everything else is from late 90's/early 00's and onwards... There's some tokens from 70's/80's but these are all auteur works and fairly common. Like say, The Thing, Terry Gilliam's Brazil, 2001: A Space Odyssey, but these are pretty few and far between. The only thing that stands out is the Evil Dead Trilogy.

Not trying to go all film fag here but it is really bizarre to call yourself a critic and a film expert (which I'm sure he would consider himself a film expert) and have practically NOTHING from the 70's. Or anything from before the 70's. Not much from the 80's is on his list either. It's universally agreed upon that the best era of cinema -on a global scale- was the 70's/80's. All the auteur's were still alive and firing on all cylinders, New Hollywood was a thing, indie theaters were still around, studios were willing to go extremely bold and experimental if they could smell any kind of money from that, the oldschool style of repressing your emotions and making movies more like a theater performance (more of a Western/Hollywood thing as Euro cinema rapidly evolved in the 60's) were replaced with earnestness, method acting, and an overall increase in intensity on all levels from violence to sex and themes (I.E. Network 1976).

It really just makes Adam look like a pretentious dumb faggot. That's no doubt because he is but I'm just talking out loud.

The only black and white movie on there seems to be Sin City...
To be fair, that list hasn't been updated since 2015.

but I’d say YMS has a point when he says the Drinker generalises about a small range of mainstream blockbuster content and doesn’t often introduce his audience to more obscure titles.
All this tells me is that Adumb probably watched one of The Drinker's newer videos, got butt hurt, and came up with this "point" to have a reason to bitch about Drinker.
I mean, it's really not hard to see how Drinker's story has gone.
Look 3 years ago he was reviewing whatever he thought would be good content and put out This review of Isle of Dr. Moreau which the algorithm seemed to like. That's the review that wound up in my recommended all those years ago. Then it became clear to Drinker that his reviews of modern blockbusters and calling out The Message in them were the actual big money makers and he boiled it down to the video formula we see today in his Barbie review. You'll find he doesn’t really make videos on movies like Isle anymore.
Just pandering to the audience that got him to where he is.
It's really what YMS needs to do tbh. YMS is fat and gay and I would not watch a movie with him.

He's seen more Jackass films than Kubrick films. That's all you need to know about this "serious movie critic."
I'm not one of those guys where you need to see every single film by an acclaimed filmmaker but you have to see anywhere from 1-3 of their prime movies to get a bearing on their filmmaking style/philosophy and also gain a bearing on where movies were at that time.

It says everything that during his review of the Oldboy remake (which is ironically a good video from him) that he never watched any of Spike Lee's other films. Which is kind of insane to say. Spike Lee is a lot of things, a whiny bitch who will use the race card every chance he gets especially to climb the ladder (and got him the job of directing Malcolm X) but he is a good filmmaker and Do the Right Thing and 25th Hour are examples of this. Watching the Oldboy remake is what prompted him to watch Do The Right Thing which is kind of sad.

It's finally out...

My god this looks like cringe
I can tell before even watching that the live Oscars threads on /tv/ were more fun than this. Also, this shit should be posted on the same week as the Oscars, & even that's a stretch, it should be around the first 3 days after the event, not months later.

Still waiting for YMS: The Lion King (Part 2) even though we'll probably be lucky if that comes out by the end of the decade. He could get it out faster if he cut out all the redundant tangents and just had his entire review be comparing scenes from the first film with the remake and picking apart different aspects one by one. His breakdown of the musical numbers in the first half of the movie was good. So was his breakdown of the stampede scene. No clue why he didn't touch up on Beep Repaired as much considering he had multiple 20+ minute videos on his highlights channel dedicated exclusively to that song. We don't need that much about Twitter's reception of the movie. We don't need to talk in depth about the promo cringe unless it's a 2-3 second clip that provides crucial insight on why some creative decisions were made on behalf of Favreau. We already know that the design changes that were made were shitty, we've already cemented that the VFX is bland so you really don't need to beat us over the head with a "THANKS, JON!" every minute or so.

In fact I believe he said something along the lines of the most effective criticism would just be playing clips from the original and the remake back-to-back with no editing whatsoever. Oh really? Then do that so you can finish this shit and we can all move on with our lives!
