Like I said before I think fatty purchased one because he of a video game or some smooth talking sales clerk talked him into it. I'm sure the local Police department would love to know all about it if he purchased it specifically for the means of defeating soft body armor, the same worn by police officers and such.

So basically it shoots ammo and looks "military," which it sort of is, but is still as poorly suited for its home defense purpose as it possibly could be without just not being a gun at all. Like the Rustang, he thinks it looks "cool" and "manly," even though he'd be better off with a plain old shotgun like any other normie.

I'm believing the Intervention Theory personally, I think Pat arrived that morning with his retarded 27 page Fatifesto with the intention of trying to enter it into evidence, and I think when his lawyer saw it she somehow (maybe with assistance) got it though his piggish, man child head that if he attempted to put that novella of retarded conspiracy, libelling a Federal Judge from another State and his family as ring leaders of an International Cyberstalking Group, under Sosnays nose, and had nothing else to show a reason why he had refused to pay as he already agreed, that Sosnay would have been likely to jail him for contempt on the spot.

Pat was already on thin ice with his fucking around to avoid the debt exam, if he turned up to his fucking contempt hearing with nothing but a booklet of conspiracy theories slandering a Judge I think that would have been the last straw.
Somehow they made him see if only for 12 hours just how fucked he was.
Of course Pat being Pat, as soon as he got a few Bud Lights and a slice of pepperoni in his stomach he went right back to his usual faggotry.
Funniest thing now will be if he still hasn't paid by next Thursday, or if he pulls some gay shit like waiting to the last minute and claiming the bank is delaying it.

He stood up before Sosnay and hung his head and submitted and promised he would pay like a good little boy, if he tries to go back on it now I think Sosnay really will jail him.

I don't know, unfortunately. I didn't get up to the 4th floor until about 9:50-9:55 (got stuck behind a real hot mess of a Basketball-American down at building security checkin) so things happened pretty fast from my point of view. I did see Pat and McCabe walking into the courtroom right after I stepped off the elevator. It's entirely possible that there was an episode which took place before I arrived.

I'm not terribly well versed in pat-lore re: SWA stuff but why would SWA fear this? Isn't it only Pat (and Nikky) on the hook here?

I don't necessarily agree the SFWA had anything to do with this, but if they did it's because they are (as of 2014) a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. The assets of such organizations are not supposed to inure to the benefit of any individual. They do have defense funds and other legal aid, but it's hard to see how suing people for writing bad reviews of your books or calling you fat is anything other than a private interest.

In fact, you could make an argument it's fraudulent appropriation of funds for non-charitable purposes, inurement, and a scheme of SLAPP litigation to attack enemies, endangering the "charity's" 501(c)(3) status or even (a stretch) opening up whoever did this to criminal liability.

And it's possible if they've done something this shady to violate the rights of members of the public to criticize the works of their members, that they've done even more sordid things that would inevitably come up with a look at their books, perhaps involving some of their more questionable members, like the convicted sex offenders and other perverts Fat Rick seems to like so much.

That said I think it's more likely Niki's family bailed out the fat failure.

It has a specific meaning, but probably not whatever Fatty meant to convey. It means you have allowed someone to go around acting as if on your behalf, and you had the power to stop them or disclaim agency, but instead chose to benefit from their actions, even if you never hired them or even communicated with them.

Pretty much. To be quite honest if you're not big into guns and only own one you can't go wrong with a Mossberg or Remington shotgun. You can hunt everything from rabbits and squirrels, or turkeys and stuff up to deer or feral hogs and they're great for home defense.
I always like shooting as a hobby, and if you get into it there are a load of neat range toys out there but if I could only keep one firearm it would probably be the Mossberg 590 just for sheer utility.
If you asked Pat what his favorite shotgun is I bet he would say a fucking SPAS 12 or something that looks cool on movies but is notorious for being fiddly, finicky, and just a pain the ass to maintain, reload, and operate (no offense to anyone who might have one, they do look cool.)

My understanding is that it is because they used their charity funds to pay the 100k for legal fees along with other rumors about them mishandling funds generated from member dues. They spent additional thousands to quash motions that would have opened their books up to scrutiny so my theory is that they just want all of this to go away before they find themselves in trouble with the IRS

For home defense I would want something as basic as possible. The last thing I need in a moment of blind panic and terror is suddenly not to be able to figure out my gun on top of everything else. Everyone likes to act like they'd be Dirty Harry in that situation but unless (and probably even if) you have experience it is not a situation conducive to messing around with complicated tech.

I guess it would be specifically patrick's financial connections to the SFWA, maybe there's more there than the 100k given to Thomlinson that Pat's records would reveal publicly and SFWA doesn't want uncovered by a US court as it would lead to more questions and trolls on twitter doing some citizen investigations.

Oh maybe so, I actually don't know much about Nikki's family other than it is widely speculated that they finance patty.

Only thing is that I think that Pat really REALLY didn't want Quasi paid and wanted to try and stall longer which I suppose Nikki's parents would have gone along with if they're that deep into Pat's delusions. SWFA seems to me to have the biggest motive to force a payment. I really hope we find out more down the line of what exactly went down. Even if my preferred theory is wrong we still got a shitload of great stuff between pat's initial meltdown and his 27 page schizo document I wonder what else will come out after.
