Not Just Bikes / r/fuckcars / Urbanists / New Urbanism / Car-Free / Anti-Car - People and grifters who hate personal transport, freedom, cars, roads, suburbs, and are obsessed with city planning and urban design

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
Those fancy “safe” Dutch intersections that force cars to take wide turns would be completely unnecessary if cyclists would just yield to people in front of them. Drivers yield to people turning in front of them all the time, but it’s such a burden for cyclists to do the same that they came up with a special name for it.
Incidentally, the lolbert Randall O'Toole of the Antiplanner is a big fan (a) of the Dutch protected intersection (a).

Occasionally he does say some based stuff, like pointing out the face of public transit (a). But his bad takes make me glad I don't cite him much in this thread.

Things like the Dutch intersection are just modern urban planning dealing with cityniggers (often these niggers are white and on bike).

I’m generally not against things like them (and traffic circles) because they do reduce incidents and fatalities. Too many damn crosses on the sides of roads for me.

Also I really want it to be that when a bikenigger gets remitted to the great cycle warehouse in the sky, that it be 200% obvious to everyone that it was their fault.

Cyclists would call that a “left hook” and blame it on you. For some reason, cyclists not only think that it’s perfectly ok to undercut a vehicle turning ahead of them, but also that it’s the driver’s fault that they get hit.

These people are suicidal. With me in it, my car is two short tons. That'll kill you at just 30mph. If you dart out in front, I can't brake fast enough. I can try, but it's no guarantee. These are the same people btw that when they get mugged, and they don't have a gun, they blame the cops. Wait your fucking turn

They clearly have no understanding of basic physics (which is why they think you can take a full-size fridge on the bus and not suffer any consequences). They're like the idiots who slam on their brakes right in front of a huge truck and then get pissy when it smashes into them, because it was physically incapable of stopping in time.

Well I doubt many of them passed math class or work with heavy machinery. They're the type of people that just get by in life.

There are a few posts talking about how much they fucking hate mountain bikes (and I know a few urbanists who look at MTBs with distain) for doing the unthinkable of diving to go biking.
I can assure you the distain is mutual between mountain bikers and gravel bikers vs faggot Fred's on their road bike. Because they're right about one thing riding a mountain bike is a hobby and a fun side activity, getting on a MTB isn't an initiation into a cult where I want the world to revolve around me and making it bend to accommodate my chosen hobby. The closest thing to urbanist demands are mountain bikers not wanting have to share trails with hikers and horse riders, since most trails are on public land they have to accommodate traffic from hikers (which is usually fine) and horse riders which is not since their hooves tear up trails, shit all over them, and can be dangerous if the horses are poorly trained and spook at riders.

"Top 10" list videos are bottom of the barrel, cheap, easy content with no effort to make. He sticks to the only thing he knows how to do, he doesn't wanting to risk losing that sweet sweet Youtube ad rev.
For sure. His thumbnail game is just the same thing over and over.

Inserts a dogshit caption with this "cAr PriCeS" format. Find a transparent background image of the car he's going to mention, and draw some hideous black lines trying to resemble eyebrows. Then plaster that shit on that generic blue background and that's his work. Then again you can't expect much from a weeb.

You don't even need to pass basic math or work with fancy machinery. I don't know about you but all it took for me to have a basic grasp of how heavy objects affect lighter objects is by throwing a paper plane and seeing the carnage after it impacts a brick wall or tree. Hell you don't even need that. Playing any ball based game like baseball will teach you those physics through intuition.

Do you think any of them passed P.E. without that baseball slamming them directly in the teeth?

One thing I've noticed recently and is probably more telling to what they actually think is not all bike are equal to these people. Its actually kind of funny since despite how they go on and on about how great bikes are, only a specific kind of bikes are tolerated, i.e those dumb Dutch style bikes NJB shills and e-bikes for the lazy fatsos.

They do know bikes are not a one-size-fits-all thing, right? Mountain biking is great, but they're not very fast or fun on city streets, while road bikes will pop the instant they hit a surface they don't like...

For a group that supposedly promotes fitness, they sure do seem opposed to taking your bike to the great outdoors.

These are the same people btw that when they get mugged, and they don't have a gun, they blame the cops. Wait your fucking turn

I don't think that the average citizen needs to live in enough fear that they need to carry a gun. The real problem is the people you refer to are the same sort of people who will vote to have their police department and other offices neutered when it comes to enforcement and prosecution.

A group of bikebrain redditors react to their precious bikes being blocked.

It's called outdoor dining, chud. I'm so sorry you had to walk your bicycle ten feet for these pedestrians.

Look at these damn bikebrains, threatening to run your table over if you don't move to the side just for them. Part of road etiquette is being mindful of vulnerable road users, you know. If you can't handle that, maybe you shouldn't bring your bike out in public.

"Move out of my way or I'm going to crash right into you. Move that table NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW!"

I am pretty triggered right now, guys. Does anyone have these redditors' jobs and home addresses? I think their employers might like to know that their workers are behaving like violent hoodlums off the clock.

But all these flawed "scientific" "studies" "proved" that it's more profitable to take away road space and give it to the restaurant. Surely the same principle applies for bikes?

Anyways it's funny seeing the mask slip revealing just how anti-pedestrian urbanists are.

If it weren't for some of them having to depend on riding e-bikes, they're basically as out of shape (powerword: fat) as any of the car brains. See: Jason.

Run them over with?... Oh they're serious about running them over with a bike. Generally a bike is the last thing you would want to run into... well anything in general, lest you want to risk falling off. Which would be fun to watch.

I know it should surprise me but it's shocking how hypocritical they are and everyone with another word has been driven off.

If these were roads they were blocking (as they were during the pandemic) they'd be applauding, they're going full "I'm going to PLOW RIGHT THEM" and "WHAT THE HELL THEY'RE IMPEDING MY WAY".

The fact that it's "bike friendly" Europe is icing on the cake.

I have to understand many of these "Urbanists" are just insufferable bike riders. Look I get where the restaurant shouldn't be blocking the bike lane. But at the same time maybe a compromise could be found.

Believe it or not people who ride bikes should have to follow basic traffic guidelines as well.

Streets are for people, not bikes!

That's the real bitch of it. If this was something happening in my town I would absolutely be raising hell to get them to knock it off. But I know they're not mad because it's stupid and blocks traffic so some hipsters can feel heckin' chique and bohemian while they eat. They're mad that those tables aren't situated in the car lane. If they moved those tables five feet to the right into the car lane, they would be celebrating this as a win for urbanists everywhere. We are not the same.

4chan's /n/ board is a somewhat less left-wing version of fuckcars in many ways, and if you make a thread on how pedestrians block bike lanes while zoned out on their phone, it's guaranteed to get 200 replies. And the rhetoric the bikers use is almost dead-on balls what they accuse 'cagers' of being. Impatient, willing to run slow people down, thinking you maintaining your speed is more important than public safety, believing everyone else on the road is there to personally menace you. And the fact that they have electric assisted ebikes only seems to compound the problem. I'll be the first to admit it's not as bad as being hit by a car, but being hit by a dude on a bike is no prize either. Take it from me.
