Generally, you shouldn't ever assume that the past outcomes of a game of chance impact the future outcomes, but enough of a lucky streak is indicative of different odds all together.
For example, if I flip a coin, call heads 5 times in a row, and get it right every time, chances are I was just extremely lucky, and the next flip is 50/50. If I get heads 50 times in a row, the chances that a fair coin got those outcomes are so astronomically low that if I weigh the probability I'm using a weighted coin vs the chance legitimately got 50 heads in a row, the next flip is almost certainly heads.
