So is it game of the year or what? I’ve got my cat ears and programmer socks ready and waiting for my fellow kiwi gamers to let me know how great it is!

Edit: clicked the stream and can someone explain to me who thought putting the spiked collar on her head horn was a good visual idea?

Average Canadian salary is about 60,000 leafbucks a year
60 employees * $60,000 * 5 years = $18,000,000

Current price is $36.59 CAD, minus Steam's 30% is $25.61
$18,000,000 / $25.61 =~ 700,000

So they'll need to shift 700,000 copies just to break even. Probably more in practice, because that doesn't include things like advertising, and they'll be paying higher than the average.

Currently the all time peak for GVH is 291 on PC. But I’ll be generous. Let’s say it’s 5000 across all platforms. That’s 5000 copies sold for $30 each. That’s $150,000. From the time the game was announced, they wouldn’t even be able to fully pay one employee. They wouldn’t make back even 1% of their expenses. But let’s say over time they make $1,000,000. They would still only make back 6% of their total expenses, and fully pay just 5 of their employees. That’s an absolute disaster. And I’m not even factoring in the game being on sale.

I trusted someone’s opinion and bought that piece of shit. Couldn’t make it more than a hour before I just had to quit. I’ve never hated characters more in my life.
Christ I’ll never understand the love for NITW. That game is faggot garbage.
Shammy liked it a lot, that should really tell you everything you need to know about it.

Is there any way to find out if the game received any public funding, like from the Canadian government?

>be me
>be leaf
>pay taxes
>can't buy house because slant eyes bought all of them for investments
>food costs are 35% inflated
>dino game gets government assistance instead of me
>freedom convoy 2 needed
>be from Yellowknife
>city burns down because the Trudeau administration gave up on it
>become homeless with nowhere left to go
>forced to make tranny visual novels as cheaply as possible because that's the only way I can get any kind of money out of the Canadian government

I believe it was actually covered earlier in the thread that it had.
I don't believe KO_OPs finances have ever been talked about in any real detail, I did some basic searching on a few of the government media grant websites to see if they got any but couldn't find any info but this is likely more to my incompetence than them being in the clear. In an article it points out that KO_OP isn't technically a co-operative specifically so it can use government grants.

I wouldn't be surprised if, like No Man's Skies, Sony had some level of funding in the game with it appearing in their state of plays.

So the asteroid hits but they play a concert anyway and watch the world burn?

I don't care, spoil me faggots. Spoil me like I was a cute arowana girl living in your aquarium and laden with roe.
The game ends at the concert with a fade to black, but it's only implied that the meteor hits. There's a rumbling sound in the background between the last two songs, and the aurora borealis effect starts to intensify, but you don't actually see the meteor.

Already 10% off

im enjoying the shit show as much as anyone, but i wouldn't really count this against em. Sea of Stars, a big highly anticipated in die RPG just came out and is also already 10% off, despite apparently getting glowing reviews. I think the 10% off is just a small discount to make people go "hey, i might as well, since it's brand new."

edit: after catching up on the thread I see this was already pointed out to you twice, my apologies.
