How did Nick hide what he is so well, especially considering the way he’s falling apart now? Why is he so loyal to Dick? Why throw away everything for a Howard Stern want-a-be? I really don’t understand.
While there were some things he was hiding, I think most of whats happening now is that for whatever reason he is in a mental and physical death spiral. Compared to the Nick of 18 months ago, this Nick is far less intelligent, far more impulsive and tends to engage in totally self-destructive behavior.
He is also physically falling apart. For example, his shaking keeps getting worse.
Nobody knows whats wrong with him. People can guess but there is no way to know:
- Severe Alcoholism. Maybe wet brain.
- Maybe he is taking something or a collection of somethings that are driving him out of his mind.
- Maybe he has an actual medical condition like Parkinsons or even early onset dementia.
The other direction to go in is that the Rumble deal a year ago gave him a huge amount of money and total independent (for the first time in his life) from his parents and their money. The Nick prior to a year ago was under a variety of tight controls based around him having good behavior in exchange for getting the cash that was supporting him and the family. That what we are seeing now is Nick acting as an independent adult for the first time in his entire life (rather than being a child) and he is train wrecking because he just can't handle it.
Whatever the cause, the guy is physically and mentally a wreck. He needs an intervention. But he has no real friends to speak of. He doesn't like his parents. His wife isn't capable of doing it. He also has the classic enablers of bad behavior that are the closest thing he has to friends: Drexel and Juju. I think Drexel already talked about how he would be willing to step in to take care of Nick's family if anything happened to Nick. Juju doesn't care about Nick or really anyone at all,
