I think one thing that might have changed with Nick is his marriage. His behavior feels like the result of him coping with a failing marriage, especially the weird sexual stuff.
I like Joe, and his content is consistent. but Viva is a networking pro and by extension of his relationship with Barnes snagged an interview and questioning segment with Donald Trump Jr. Something Nick will never be able to do.
That's why he's the best. It's also hilarious because despite being a self-defense expert, and telling you to always take into account the situation you're in so you don't end up on the wrong side of the law. A woman starts talking, about anything, and he'll start chimpin' out. Like dude, I get you're on the Internet and thus this isn't that important, but at least try to practice what you preach when engaging with others. There's also that he'll laugh/chortle at people getting hurt when he reviews videos. He might claim otherwise, but I'm sure there's a bit of "I want people to fucking step, because I know how much violence I can engage in and still be legal."

Unironically, he comes off as very competent and serious when discussing his trade/expertise; one of which is vulnerability, a woman is naturally smaller/weaker then a man, and therefore may not be able to defend herself as capably as a man with only her hands and feet. But you get without with his tie off, alcohol in him, and on a panel with a woman and he will tell you what a pain in the ass the modern woman is and any over the age of 30 and single is busted. I'll wager part of it is bad blood from his first marriage, which he'll make snide remarks from time to time, but the dude goes beyond full MGTOW when he's unrestrained.

You know, I think it's actually an opportunate timing that Dick has decided to grab a hold on Nick 'now'. Nick has decided that he doesn't like KF and wants it gone because he's cultivated an audience that mocks him that posts to KF all by himself and probably would still conduct a smear campaign on KF like he's doing now even if Dick and Vito wasn't in the picture.
