Nintendo Switch (Currently Plagued) - Here we shit post about the new Nintendo console, The Switch

SoC? Do you mean the chipset? I'd be surprised but not completely if Nvidia themselves built it. I feel Nintendo possibly could now given the advances in tech, at least docked
The Tegra X1 is the Switch is also used by the Nvidia Shield (which is also why there are officially released versions of Mario Galaxy and Twilight Princess on the Shield). It wasn't a bad decision all things considered, considering that, while the CPU and RAM became horribly dated, it took until 2018 with the Snapdragon 855 for flagship mobile chips meant for phones multiples of the Switch's price to surpass the Maxwell GPU in the X1

Ah OK. They definitely could make a docked 4k console at this point then if that was the power of older chips

4k output yes, 4k native rendering not likely, as others comments said it will be most likely close to a steam deck in power, and most modern games in that run at 30 1080p.
I dont really care tbh, 1080p still looks more than fine imo

Oh yeah, one more thing: the first two Game Center CX games (the DS ones) are getting remade with some new content.
The first game was originally localized as “Retro Game Challenge” and the second, while never officially localized, did get a very good fan translation. I really hope this collection gets localized; the originals are hidden gems, and I still haven’t gotten around to playing the second one.

YOOO FINALLY
I didn’t even know that game had a sequel, I loved it so much!! Highest-quality nostalgiabait i’d ever played. Hopefully the second game didn’t drop the ball? I guess we’ll know for sure when the remaster comes out/someone lets me know how that fan translation is.

ew... yea the O.G. Switch definitely got the better deal.

I guess they're trying to push the lite version to the women/children demographic or something?
The Lite was always targetted at children, per The Pokemon Company's request. I think they might be misreading some of their internal data on AC customers buying the Lite. That was a byproduct of covid, regular Switches were selling out worldwide at the same time it released.

I played the second game today and it definitely feels like an expansion; same idea as the original, just with a new batch of NES-style games plus some games inspired by other systems. If you liked the first one, you'll like the second. Also, the fan translation looks to be official-quality minus a couple typos.

By the way, there's also a third one on 3DS, but it never got any translation. I have no idea how good/bad it is, but they did get a different developer.

I have both, they're excellent.

I have a feeling they'll localised, but we'll see. We've gotten other Japan only stuff like Great Ace Attorney and RGC2 is a much wanted title in the West.

Holy shit, I just counted and I've, at one point or another, played at least a little bit of 72 different titles and demos on Switch. 71 if you don't include Hatchwell, which I downloaded but never played and 68 if you forget about the three demos I have.

I don't even know how many games i have and i don't want to count. I do know I had to upgrade to a 512gb memory card to hold everything
I dreadfully regret getting the NBA basketball game though. I don't know if it was just horrible or just my cup of tea.

I suspect 0% probability of the Switch collection ever being translated, time to rev up your moonrunes lads.

The english version of the first game on DS, by XSeeD, was a weird bad localization anyway (such as removing the likeness of the ADs and Arino's voice).

It was developed by a different third-party (G.Rev, the previous two games on DS were made by indieszero a.k.a. the theatrhythm dev) and it felt low-quality overall.

Also, speaking of japanese releases on Switch:

3D action game Otogi Katsugeki Mameda no Bakeru: Oracle Saitarou no Sainan!! will launch for Switch on November 30 in Japan for 5,280 yen, developer Good-Feel announced. I twill be available both physically and digitally.

In Otogi Katsugeki Mameda no Bakeru: Oracle Saitarou no Sainan!!, a tanuki boy named Bakeru, disguised as a human, uses taiko (drumming) actions to defeat a festival army wreaking havoc throughout a fantasy version of Japan.
