It's been 8 years since Moot left 4chan and I fully believe the heart and soul of the site died when he sold it. People were furious at him when he left because of his censorship of /v/ but I really think the site never recovered from him leaving. It's not the same.

Moot was to 4chan what Jersh is to us. The leader. The paragon. The visionary. It was thanks to him that 4chan is as influential as it is - the minimal censorship and abundance of boards for niche content truly makes it a truly one of a kind site.
Sadly, he started to cave around 2013, first with the creation of /lgbt/ which is a tranny magnet (and from there tranny jannies started to spread and contaminate the site with their foul stench) and then the Gamergate situation proved he was too far gone to care for a site like 4chan anymore. Post-2015 the one bright spot was /pol/ 2016-2018, and even then the board was still not ideal - there were way too many obvious glowniggers and shills.

That and the election tourists that treated every board like /pol/ were the point where everything started to turn to irredeemable shit. Earlier than that, deactivating the robot on /r9k/, turning it into >tfw no gf central and later on /femboygeneral/, was another step towards the abyss. I haven't been on the site in ages, it's so shit by now that not even "Remember, you're here forever" holds true anymore.
