Cartoon Industry thread - Showcasing the Spergery of the Animation Industry

Something I haven't seen people brought up is that you could (in theory) mix multiple peoples' voices together using AI and, essentially, create a whole new voice to use that doesn't belong to anyone. What would these fuckers have to say then? "Oh don't use that voice because it sounds kinda like mine? No I don't have any proof to accuse you of using my voice as data, SHUT IT DOWN NOW." This would probably give artists way more legal credence if they went down this route of mixing multiple peoples' voices together and create a whole new unique voice... kind of... like... making "art." 🤔
S1m0ne is kind of a forgotten film, but I think it's time to pull out the DVD and look at it again.

Oh so that's what happened to Wright. I remember back in the Aughts he was sort of a big deal on the online forums at Delphi devoted to comics creators like Warren Ellis, Larry Young and others in that general sphere, and some of those posters were quite chagrined that this guy they wanted to pump up as a comics creator turned out to be a faker, because he spouted a lot of the same leftoid nonsense they did but also he said had been an Army Ranger aka a total TOUGH GUY who would, well, whatever the 2000's equivalent of "owning the Chuds" was. Of course I saw people back then trying to sarcastically deny this "oh yes, I saw that Micah Wright was an Army Ranger and I JUST HAD TO BUY HIS COMICS, yeah right, surrrrrrrrre", people who had just before the stolen valor revelations and his weaselly attempts at "apologizing" had simped over him and his "I was an Army Ranger, did I mention that, allow me to again say that I was an Army Ranger" posturing.

It's always funny that whenever one of these people draw themselves, they try to make themselves look as cute as possible.

Because in reality, it's the complete opposite.

bad example because this one looks pretty much the same irl compared to the drawing
probably just because her art style is ugly (imagine drawing a square chin and knees the height of your short pockets and calling that cute)
she definitely thinks she's cute, but her art does a bad job at emphasizing that (the only real attempt at looking inaccurate is maybe the lipstick and the pose) and I can think of a much much better example immediately

granted, my example might not be the best either since the artist I used really doesn't act that bitchy and I highly doubt she tries to pass herself off as cute, but I hope it gets across that I think you're choosing a really really mild example of "artist draws herself to look way better than she actually does" to mock
if nothing else, it shouldn't be hard to find better examples considering how twitter is lol

Black women drawing vs reality is practically cheating. I remember that time one accidentally made an entire genre of extremely vain soyjak comics.

There’s a better one but I couldn’t find it

Figure this has a place here because I think there's relevancy to this when it comes to subliminal messages/background jokes, and who does it.

The TL;DR is the identity of who was behind this infamous adult moment from The Rescuers, and you may or may not be surprised by it: Ann Guenther.

She slipped in a nude frame as a joke back in 1977. It's something animators are really fond of doing, even to this very day.

I bring this up because the scene in the animation industry was different altogether back then. It was a world run by men with women doing background art and color design, mostly, because that's just something women are naturally gifted at. Ann was pretty much the queen of background art, and she deserves more recognition, but she clearly didn't make a big stink out of it. But she was definitely "one of the boys", and her in-joke shows.

So for the hell of it, name a female animator or artist today who would actually pull a joke like that in good fun. I'll wait. Shipping shit doesn't count.

It’s amazing how one can still have friends in the animation industry when they’re not too busy snaking and/or knifing each other behind their backs for the sake of wanting to be “one of the good ones”.
Hollywood is a Jewish industry after all. Remember where all those animations are localized.

So someone who works on Disney's Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur tweeted this a few days ago...

No wonder there's so much gay shit in that show...

I hope that once the strike goes scorched earth and kills off all the current writers and workers and companies get their shit together, they'll make it so that if you're working for a family-friendly company like Disney, you are contractually obligated to not have any social media accounts while you're there. Shit like this is disgusting and is destructive to the public image of everyone who claims to work for a reputable company.

Walt wouldn't have stood for this had the Internet existed in his lifetime. Roy wouldn't have stood for this, either. Hell, I wonder if Bob Iger himself would even think this acceptable if he were to find out about what gets posted on these employees' accounts.
