According to them, and only them, a street is a low speed destination and a road is a high speed connection. A stroad, therefore, is a le bad carbrain road design that has multiple lanes or even dual carriageways that has homes and businesses directly on it rather than on frontage roads or further off the road.
Wait so do these retards want every fucking shopping center/residential area to have a designated side street to enter and exit from? That is an insanely inefficient use of land coming from the people who hate suburbs for that reason.

Well, for the anti-car faggots this is indeed a dream. They can walk from their workplace in the sex shop to their soy dispensery and get the daily slop at McDonald's before going back to their 25 sqm apartment that cost them 2/3rds of their net earnings. Rinse, repeat. Until their butthole wears out and they have to expire gracelessly on old folks gibsmedat.
 
It's just that their solution more often than not is to chimp out and fling shit at the average car driver. But not the people that actually caused these issues of course.
Because the hatred never goes away, it's target just changes, and many of those things are caused by "their side" and the very regulations and systems they supported. It's all assholes, all the way down.

At the end of the day, if you're a driver, you're responsible for dealing with the streets. Should the city planners have done better? Sure. But bitching non stop makes you look weak and like a pussy.
The drivers don't always behave responsibly though, that's the problem. And the cost to a resident who's ass-to-ankles with an inappropriately fast road right outside their front door can be a lot higher than it is to a random driver.

It's reasonable to ask for decent urban design. It just doesn't need to be fueled by some weird bugman nerds who want to play simcity with their political/cultural enemies.

Like my neighborhood is decently designed. There's faster, higher capacity streets that pass through, and drivers generally prioritize those over the more residential streets deeper in the neighborhood. Which is fine and good.

But one time, I was crossing a street at a stop sign, and I had the right of way, and some faggot blew through the stop sign and almost hit me. Now that's just some random faggot and that can happen anywhere, but I can imagine that would be frustrating if you had that kind of traffic outside your front door everyday. That would be a fair complaint to have.

They dont think that far, all they really want is to remove cars, it's the same as why they hate pedestrian bridges. If it doesn't directly remove cars from roads it's not going far enough. They would advocate for removing road access to hospitals if it removed a single car.

I visited Amsterdam once. It was shit. Smelled of weed constantly in most places, and it also smelled of piss. Did you know they have open air bathrooms there? Just two pieces of metal to shield you from view so you can piss on a post like a dog, fucking disgusting. The cannals were nice as were some of the historic buildings but otherwise it really left much to be desired. Gouda was nicer, as was Zance Shans or whatever the name of the place was I visited. I also saw about 5 women in niqabs/hijabs over the less than a week I was there which was funny, and this was a good 6 years ago.

Thats cause Amsterdam is the degenerate Tourist City for middle-class early twenty-somethings trying to get away from "Mom" and "Dad" to have some "Fun" with the girls or boys. It is also the hotspot for people whos tinder profiles description has the phrase "I like wine" and "I like to travel" in it.
It's a lot like what Las Vegas is for Boomers. A tourist trap, designed to make money. Meanwhile if you'd venture 20km outside of the city you could experience actual culture.
