David Steel / LazerPig / Ricewynd / Malquistion - Pathological Liar, Reddit Historian, Femboy Thirster, and Vore Connoisseur

The vast majority of "X v Y" arguments are retarded, as the question is never, ever as simple as "what is the absolute best piece of equipment I could possibly make ever of all time?" Even though I'm talking about tanks, the idea can obviously easily translate to literally anything else an army purchases.
That's the key thing in the end, isn't it? Despite all the memes and the heated words between spergs on the internet 80+ years removed from the events they're talking about, the people at the time were usually doing their best with what was available to them. And when you're talking about a whole-ass continent-sized territory like the Soviet Union or the US (or even a smaller nation like Germany), it's not hard to find people who are competent and driven to get shit done. Even in situations where people's efforts are stymied by political bullshit (like in Nazi Germany), you still had plenty of people trying to create the best product (be it a gun or a vehicle) within the constraints of the system they were a part of.

Sure, they didn't always get what they wanted, but nobody was a drooling retard like LP tries to imply. Ironically, his takes on the T-34 and later the T-14 land him rhetorically very close to the wehraboos he claims to hate so much. Both cherrypick things, mischaracterize context, and just outright fabricate claims in order to make the Soviets/Russians look bad for ideological reasons. I don't think pigs can wear horseshoes, but our boy here sure is a perfect example of the theory.

OP really needs a paragraph on LP's "debate" with Gonzo. It's usually considered a W for LP, but I think it's relevant to his story because I'm pretty sure all the praise he's received for Gonzalo Lira's complete fucking meltdown on that stream was one of the catalysts to his ego going from "inflated" to "full-sized Hindenburg replica".
Do you have the video of it? I'll be happy to put it in the OP.

Sounds like the typical millennial who works in government at the moment.
So he has a discord server. Which is filled with children and has a porn section.

If you do some digging like googling on Reddit you can find the link to the discord.
Damnit I was going to hope he wasn't going to be an irredeemable coomer but now I'm starting to see how wrong I am.
I seriously get to like someone and they pull this shit. Fucking progressives man.

Back on the topic of the T-14 video, and adding my "two cents":
I find it extremely unlikely that an alleged member of the British military intelligence service, and a man who allegedly visited Russia to get it on with his tank crewman boyfriend, would be unable to pronounce "Uralvagonzavod".
I think that shit is 100% exaggerated. I don't want to powerlevel, but I've worked with people in the past who have helped with research for the US Military. I can't and don't want to talk about it very much, but I know for a fact that it wasn't anything the average KF user would find cool or sexy. They weren't building super weapons and they weren't having meetings with high ranking officials. It was very low stakes and boring, but if I just said "RESEARCH FOR THE US MILITARY THAT I CAN'T TALK ABOUT" and let your mind fill in the rest... well, I could make it all sound much more impressive than it actually was.

There's a lot of lame ass jobs one can do in intelligence. Like sifting through uninteresting data, writing articles for public consumption, or managing social media lmao. Basic intern shit. He could also be exaggerating what was a private investigator related job.

He also claims in the clip on the original post that he quickly got fired from that job.

so I'm calling further bullshit on his "Intelligence Agency" employment. No right minded person in that field would ever be as callous and dismissive of an enemy weapon, especially one we still can only hypothesize about for the most part.
Well, no wonder he got fired from that job.

But yes, the only things we can really tell about the Armata is that it's undergoing severe delays (they were supposed to have at least a hundred of them deployed by now, and that we know none have even undergone gun trials), and the engine as it is is not fit for Russian needs or industry. That's it. That's all we know. Could the T-14 turn out to be a fantastic tank in 20 years? Maybe. Could it eventually be deployed as a politically-motivated lemon? Also maybe. Could it get quietly canceled and thrown into a Russian memory hole? Possibly. We will only know when we get there.

I'm not watching any of this, just throwing links for anyone interested in exploring that angle.
I think it starts in July 2022, when LP posts an hour long take down of Lira's podcast, The Roundtable.
I'm not sure what happened but LP and Destiny show up at the above Roundtable and Lira implodes. LP and his dick riders (including our favorite aussie) take a victory lap,
As for the ego boost, well let's look at the comments.

Yeah perhaps a bit of an echo chamber. Did anyone bother with the Mike Sparks of the Future vid? I'm a Sparkster myself but I have better things to do.

the Soviets didn't particularly like the Thompson even if Stalin personally did
Imagine that the former gangster likes the gangster gun.

edit:
@RA-5C Vigilante the T-72 in DS was the monkey model; and the soviets allegedly sold training rounds as warshots or the Iraqi QM Corps was so corrupt they issued out training rounds as warshots and sold the war shots on the black market, both seem very plausible.

Idk, I think HESH is too dated to be practical. Even primitive spaced armor makes it pretty much useless. From what I've seen, even the British only really keep it around because it's still one of the best rounds for dealing with things like concrete bunkers, but that's not something you see that often on a modern battlefield.
The reason the British decided to stick with the rifled gun with the Chally 2 is because they had a truly absurd stock of HESH rounds, and it was cheaper to stick with a bunch of "good enough." The British already plan for their next tank to have a NATO standard caliber barrel, which likely will continue to be the Rhinemetall Rh-120 or the newer Rhinemetall Rh-130.

at worst, he and his unfunny Shiba pals are disregarding a serious threat to an already overstretched Ukrainian military.
I mean, he is a retard, however broken clocks and all that. Every serious source considers the T-14 DOA vaporware. If it was useable we would've seen it in Ukraine. How do I know this? Because we have visual confirmation of a destroyed T-80UM2, which is a prototype tank model of which two (2) were built, total, ever. Russians literally rolled out ancient (in relative terms) test beds to send to the front.
Mostly but not completely. Most recent variant of the AC 130 has a 30mm bushmaster for AP punch and general HE, it also helps its fire rate is 200 rpm
The AC-130 is a comically rare, limited use case platform. For fast movers, our existing 20mm and 25mm gun pods are just fine. The GAU-8 cannot penetrate any tanks in common use by possible near peer adversaries from any attack angle, including 90° from the top. Using a smaller caliber allows the aircraft to carry more ammo with the same weight and accomplish the same tasks.
Russia has 10 tubes for every one that Ukraine holds. Ukraine is in a "Volksturm" situation as far as manpower is concerned.
This is wrong, but this isn't the thread for it. Literally all of this is wrong. Russians are scraping the barrel for physical tubes and are rapidly depleting their spares. Logistically, Russia absolutely cannot support their current fire mission optempo. I would refer you to the latest RUSI reports.

Yeah absolutely. Ironically, this is why I love the Tiger I so much. The Tiger tank is probably my favorite Second World War tank, but not because of the retarded wehraboo reasons. The Tiger was, basically, a design born of desperation. They took a box, slapped an anti air cannon on it, and welded big BEEFY steel plates to it. To make it easier for retarded conscripts to drive, they put in a fucking steering wheel, which was totally novel at the time. No matter what country or what time period you look at, you will always find men that are doing their best to put my favorite Teddy Roosevelt quotes into action, "Do what you can, with what you have, where you are."

Contrary to what pop historians would have you believe, the winning team doesn't have literally all of the heroes and geniuses.

Those T-80UM-2s aren't very good examples. They were basically tech demonstrators from the early 90's probably loaned from the Russian Army. Were placed into service as regular T-80Us with the Drozd APS on it being quickly forgotten. We have photos of it from a decade ago before the invasion with no working APS.

>Open-bolt pistol caliber blowback operating system
>Closed rotating bolt intermediate caliber gas piston system
>Clearly these are the same thing. :smug:

Good God this is going to be entertaining if he goes through with it.

But still going with the bullshit claim that Kalashnikov didn't do anything himself, lmao.

I'm going to go ahead and leave this little pre-rebuttal courtesy of Mishaco on the history of the AK design and the claims that it's a copy of the STG or anything fucking else for that matter, or the claims that Mikhail Kalashnikov was a dumb drunk vatnik orc that was too stupid to make anything on his own and just claimed credit.
Imagine being so much of an autistic sperg that a blind guy makes a more compelling point and has better knowledge of the topic than you.

Hell, even Brandon Herrera did a very nice show-and-tell of how Kalashnikov just took the M1 Garand and made an assault rifle based on that and not the StG-44.

And as for the T-14 debacle, I'll just throw in my two cents:

-The Russian government is corrupt and a lot of their military projects end up half-baked because most of the money that was meant for the project's development went into the general's pockets. Just look at that AK-12 prototype and what they ended up with in the end.
-The fact that the Russian government is corrupt doesn't mean that absolutely every project that they make will be complete and utter trash that won't even make it to the frontline. If you believe that you drank too much pro-Ukrainian Kool-Aid.
-Because of the aforementioned corruption, the T-14 Armata won't be the most technologically advanced tank platform in the world that will completely decimate the West. If you believe that you've drank too much pro-Russian Kool-Aid.
-In the end, you don't need the absolute best, most high tech weaponry in the world to kill people. Ukrainians and Russians are killing each other with Maxims and Mosins which both predate the USSR just fine, and the most powerful army in the world lost both to rice farmers and to goat fuckers, both of which used shitty outdated equipment.

Basically, the T-14 debacle is retarded because it's meaningless in the grand scheme of things. It has not been deployed in Ukraine in any impactful way and the Russians are yet to properly finalize the project for it to see any real field usage, Russia is still keeping the project under wraps for the most part, and Ukrainians and Russians are still killing each other on the Eastern frontline without it in the picture.

Nice to see the thread make its way out of the prospering grounds so fast. I used to listen LP's videos as white noise, but after closer inspection following the T-14 shitshow he got himself into, I don't know why this guy didn't have a thread earlier, holy fuck. Great work, OP.

(Also, i found one of his offhanded remarks about "femboy vore porn" during a video to be a bit off-putting and out of place, and it suddenly makes a lot more sense after reading this thread. :cryblood:)

Jesus Christ, thank you for putting all the Chieftain drama in one place. I've been idly watching LP's videos as background noise, and it was very frustrating to get a shitpost video referencing a nonspecific drama out of the blue. I tried searching around the comments and reddit, but basically all of his simps were saying variations of "he's really rising above the drama with this one!" I'm unironically convinced the powers that be want the Farms gone because it's the one place where information doesn't fall down the memory hole, and all important data is concisely presented, easily searchable and not subjected to back editing.

Yes, and that's why this whole shitfest is so much fun. This tank barely even exists yet, the only information we have comes from sources that most serious people would struggle to consider credible or reliable, and yet in his fervor LazerPig still made a goddamn hour-long video about it while claiming to be a serious historian/military analyst/whateverthefuck. A video that contained such ridiculous claims he actually got called out on it and began lashing out. One thing leads to another and here we are, on the farms, celebrating his stupidity.

The T-14 Armata's only confirmed kill since its announcement has been LazerPig's credibility. And I love it.

If you think the AK was based on the STG-44 just because they look similar I can safely disregard your opinion on anything military related, as you clearly haven't even bothered to look at how either rifle actually works. The only thing they barely share is the form factor and the very new concept of "intermediate" rifle rounds. Just because if you squint while looking at a STG44 that it looks kinda sorta like an AK doesn't make it so.

I'll take your word for it. As I've said, I absolutely do not consider myself an expert in Soviet armor development.
