Tokyo Game Show (TGS) is happening next week, and there wasn't a thread for it so i figured I'd make one.

Despite making this thread I don't actually have any expectations or desires out of this year's TGS. All the games I'd been looking forward to recently either released already early this year (Ryza 3), or were revealed and already have a release date slated late this year (Under Night 2). I took a quick gander at the schedule and saw Bamco didn't get the stage slot, which pretty much guarantees that Elden Ring DLC still isn't happening for a while either since they don't even have a teaser for it yet. Another game I miiight be interested in is Synduality, since the anime ended up being cute enough that it's convinced me to at least give it a shot.

I saw KT getting a stage slot but their lineup is just 2 mobile games and the Fate musou lol. Then again I haven't played Wo Long nor the Marie remake so it's probably for the best in my case that they don't put out anything new for a while.

>No Elden Ring announcement
Hard pass

Even the games I played and really liked that were made after 2020 didnt get announced on TGS (like Labyrinth of Galleria).

At the same time I see what DO get slots on TGS and Im like ???

Ain't nobody can convince me they've ever looked forward to a D3 game yet they're always on TGS.

Earth Defense Force is my personal number #1 game franchise, and it had reached its 20th anniversary this year in June.
World Brothers 2 was previously announced to be showcased during the TGS 2023
Hopefully with an announcement of a PC/Steam port of Earth Defense Force 6 during the event, so that it's no longer indefinitely stuck on Playstation.
Same publisher is also planning to show more gameplay of Custom Mech Wars, which look silly dumb and fun jank

There will be also a special live event held at the TGS by Bandai Namco with Shinya Arino (on September 23), the Kaichou of Game Center CX, for the re-release of the two DS games on the Nintendo Switch.

Completely forgot about EDF lol. For the exact reason you posted actually, that its stuck on the playstation.

I know EDF5 is on Steam, but I havent had a chance to play it due to backlog.

Just bought my ticket for the public Saturday. I'm GOING TO TGS.
Nice.

I found out a few of the games I'm looking forward to have a demo on the floor. Would love to go, but sadly I don't have the time (or money for that matter) to go to Japan.
Mildly unrelated, but Bamco dropped the Tales of Arise expansion yesterday lol. This was probably the only thing I was really looking forward to out of this year's TGS.

I take it there will be no news about Tsukihime remake DLC or silent hill F for quite a while.

There aren’t any quality games being made anymore so I don’t have any horses in this race.

Silent Hill f is probably gonna be awhile. I'm sure development is going fine, but I'd assume Konami announced the thing pretty early into development for that sweet, sweet goodwill.
