I am certain that guys who insist on no makeup don't actually know what women look like without it. They mistake light makeup for none at all. Protip: eyelashes don't naturally look like that, eyebrows don't naturally look like that, and lips aren't naturally glossy.

Men then act very dramatic over seeing a woman without makeup and treat it like they had no idea beforehand of what someone looks like. Makeup can do a lot, no question, but you can’t contour your way out of having an unfortunate looking nose or something. The largest difference I see with makeup vs no makeup is typically the skin, especially if the person is very acne prone.

despite being an active poster in this thread, i don't actually genuinely hate men. i have a great relationship with all my male family members, have multiple male friends, and get along great with my male co-workers.

i have some complaints about men in general, though. mainly the fact that nearly every criticism they have towards "modern women" can easily be applied to them as well.

-they hate women who are whores, yet they watch porn and fuel the industry by being the main consumers
-they hate gold diggers, but they put so much emphasis on them being providers and women not working and being dependent on them
-they hate women dating outside of their race, yet they drool over east asian women and latinas
-they claim women are overdramatic, then loot and set whole cities on fire after a huge sport game
-they accuse women of having no accountability, yet they also run away from responsibility when it comes to a pregnant girlfriend or a wife with a terminal illness.

obviously i'm speaking in general terms, but these are just phenomena i've observed.

This was sadly the reality of some women throughout history, and it varied if the woman in question ever got child support. Due to limited methods of employment, not having that financial support would put the woman and child into poverty. It’s why by law in most developed countries that men are required to pay child support if a paternity test matches. It’s not for revenge against men, it’s because otherwise it will create more poverty and leave kids in very vulnerable situations.

I would not hate men if I had not had unfettered access into their spaces as a child and got to hear first hand how little they truly think of us. I think reasoned debate on this subject is really only going to come in the form of something higher profile than a KF thread and moderated by a third party. To relate to the previous discussion, I'm not opposed to the idea of a neutral debate thread (because like, worst case it just becomes another of countless dumpster threads on the site, and it might at least be a better place to point to for the existence of a true and honest meeting of the slapfights than the hate thread hate thread) but I think expectations about it would be best kept at zero. These men will dismiss any information they don't like as propaganda because their views are emotionally driven and they see exclusively what they want to see. If they're good for anything it would be training dummy debate practice, but even that is optimistic

They don’t understand the difference between shitposting and debate, and have no arsenal other than herp-derp insults and unverified assertions. Worse, maybe, they clearly don’t even enjoy principled argument or try to make a go of a debate on the merits. And - some aside, because I am talking about the loudest and most ridiculous ones - they are never, ever able or willing to acknowledge that maybe they don’t actually know something. Ironic, as those ones in particular know essentially nothing and shout down the more reasonable ones. It’s 4th-grade tier argument/discussion.

Since you ladies actually want to have a serious conversation, indulge me.

People who refuse to accept that men are by far the main perpetrators of violent crimes are delusional. It's true. But that entire line of argument isn't really relevant imo. If we look at the number of violent criminals relative to the number of men, its a drop in the bucket. Making the argument that all men are shit on that basis isn't really rational. Just like it isn't rational to paint all women with the same brush as some people in the other thread unironically do. We don't have enough data to make conclusive arguments about anything so everything comes down to speculation and reliance on personal experience.

I also want to mention that this thread has some actual valid criticisms of men. We live in an age of infantility where being a manchild is acceptable and I think that's disgusting.I think the pro-life argument is nonsense from a public policy perspective and I understand why women feel alienated from both parties. Its a shitty situation that doesn't have an easy solution. The only way to solve problems like these is through good-faith cooperation that will require everyone to accept some uncomfortable truths. I'm not trying to powerlevel, and I think details aren't necessary, but I figure I don't fit your notions of an anti-woman poster. I have healthy friendships with both men and women, both conservatives and liberals. I'd consider myself an open minded person and I try to approach every issue in good faith. So tell me: Does bitterness and shitflinging really help solve the problems that affect all of us?

I think you've got a point, but a lot of books and movies that focus on women are meant for women.

A lot of films with explicitly feminist themes approach gender questions unproductively.
The problem is that outrage makes money, and appealing to outrage and long-boiling frustrations is an easy way for film studios to get approval from their targeted demographic. It shouldn't come as a surprise that men don't want to see films that villainize men. Good men object to being painted as rapists and scum just as women object to being painted as stupid objects meant for nothing other than the male gaze.

There's films out there with great female characters. True Grit comes to mind for me. I'd love some recommendations from you all.

I think strong female characters are generally more suited for literature because its much less overt than film, but people don't read anymore.

I've always preferred woman without makeup. I'd rather have natural imperfection than artificial beauty.
