Fredrik Knudsen / "Down the Rabbit Hole" Guy / Loren The Owl - Youtube documentarian turned gay furry vtuber

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.

Three years ago.
I can't remember if it was this stream exactly but it was one with deadwing where I realised Fredrik was a hypocritical faggot. He was making edgy jokes and shit and laughing about a grim subject and then on his own channel he made some Q&A video where he was seriously discussing how it was terrible and "problematic" that Terry Davis was using the word nigger.

Enjoy the troonshine you faggot, try not to choke as you chug it down.

I am biased, but maybe one approach was better than the other.

I just wonder if theres even enough interest in a 6 hour long doc on such a niche game and if it's even possible to make it entertaining.
Fred's other subjects like spoony, furries or cwc have much more interest from the general public and those are short by comparison
I'm not an EVE player, I attempted to get into it in the past because I had a friend who was into it and sold it to me on "it's space with giant spaceships!!!1". The most time I've spent learning about EVE was from, I wanna say Mandaloregaming's video on EVE and that video is 30 minutes long.
I gave up at some point during the Battle of May Island video because it simply wasn't a subject that interested me, I can't imagine that I'll watch Fred's EVE video even if it came out tomorrow and I had my fridge stocked with energy drinks.

His videos on bizarre or niche stories, like the Collier brothers or the Purr Cat Cafe videos, I've revisited more than once because the absurdity or the empathy I feel for these people make the videos interesting. Even Time Cube I've watched more than once, mostly because the subject matter is so fever-dream inducing that I need a rest midway through and even then I don't fully understand the topic.

The EVE video is going to become an insurmountable feat for Fred to finish, even if his "animator" stops waffling around. He'll blame it on burnout, the negative comments or a third excuse but he will never admit to making the topic even grander than it needs to be because of his autism and his selfesteem needing to finish it.

Could somebody who's into Vtubers tell me if having lore beyond "I'm a big tiddy anime babe uwu" is becoming the hot new trend for these people? Kinda makes me think of when the Channel Awesome people got a little too high off their own farts and started relying on elaborate skits and lore that spans across their reviews of forgotten Hulk comics.

In all seriousness, I had never gotten into his Down the Rabbit Hole videos.
I am from Uganda and I have never smelled the AIDS that smelled as bad as photos of this furfag. Even Rich Evan’s would tell this guy to stop spreading AIDS.
How long before he troons out?
With any luck he will skip the extra steps and go for the noose right away.

Well put together OP. I disagree that it's autoflagellation to be anal about addressing your errors; we've seen the flip side of that this summer with Linus Tech Tips.
I can also understand being burnt out or not wanting to be defined by DtRH, even though it's what people know him for. That's usually the problem for a lot of YouTubers: they're known for one thing and do it for years and years until they start to hate it and try to transition into something else, only to just sort of suck at it, so they either alienate their fans or have to go back to doing it, like Nostalgia Critic.

Shame. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised after his comments to the journos. Will certainly be interesting to see where this goes, Rekeita's fall had some unexpected turns, I doubt this will be any different.

To my knowledge, a lot of them recently have lore to differentiate themselves from the saturated market. By that same virtue, most of them abandon that after a few streams for their actual personalities, with the lore doing not much more than influence the character design/chat in-jokes.
