So page 5 already has issues.
Was it ever proven that they had people taking calls who was under 18? Being over 18 is a rule stated on page 5.
"Be on the line and take phone calls is all we ask" goes without saying why this isn't true.
I love that they use tumblr for reference guides.
This whole thing is just a joke.
Edit: page 6 states that they are partnered with the National suicide prevention lifeline. I thought Greta has stated otherwise and actually is agains trans people calling it because "how could a cis help?!"
I never tried to find Jaden Prendergast's "dead name" and was never able to find a record of his birth date under his transexual name. But given the information across other sources, it is very unlikely he was 18 when he was volunteering on the TLL hotline. Quick rehash of information on Jaden Prendergast, who is now an office admin with TLL:
--He dropped out of high school for the first time in October of 2014. He was still living with parents, in New Hampshire, I think.
--On December 10, 2014, he posted on the TLL Facebook that he was "an operator for the lifeline."
--In February of 2015, he dropped out of high school again, moved from New England to Los Angeles to live in a group home, and enrolled in Job Corps. It was the first time he had ever lived away from his family.
--He wants to get office administration training and to finish his high school diploma. He said he hoped to have his GED or diploma by 4/2016. Unsure if it worked out that way but according to his Google+, he "attended" Job Corps, implying he is no longer working with them.
When he enrolled in Job Corps, it seems like he had at least a year of high school left, though I am completely clueless as to how such things are managed by Job Corps. Do they cram two years of study into one, could they stretch six months out into a year? No idea.
If he was a senior, set to graduate in 2015, it doesn't seem likely that he would chuck it all and move across the country when he could get his diploma and then enroll in Job Corps for training. If his home life was bad he may have been desperate to get away but unless Jaden was left behind to repeat grades a couple of times in school, that's the only way I can see him being 18 and dropping out of high school in October of 2014 and still spending a year in Job Corps to finish his high school education. If he enrolled in Job Corps in February 2015, he could not have been younger than 16 - that's the minimum age for enrollment.
Here's the link to the data I found on him, created by him, so presumably accurate. If anyone has any idea how to find his birthdate, let me know and I'll give it a shot.
