It's a midlife crisis and an undiagnosed personality disorder. Anisa is starting to realise her beauty won't last forever, especially not after she ruined her looks with surgery and those garish tattoos (not saying tats are ugly, just specifically her tats).

Because that's not how women cope with their fading beauty and fertility. Ian and Anisa don't have children yet and they're both nearing their early/mid thirties fast. Women hit their peak fertility in their late 20s/early 30s and it starts dropping rapidly after 35, with an increasing chance of children with syndromes at that point. Male fertility is usually good until the late 30s/early 40s, so the chance of a man siring a child with syndromes doesn't become an issue until much later in their lives.

A modern female midlife crisis is handled by having children or hyperfocusing on your career, because those are the two major ways for women to express themselves and find happiness in the eyes of our modern society.
