A somewhat weird question perhaps but female characters in media were brought up a few times: Would you consider Mulan a "good" empowered female character or just an example of a character with traits typically considered masculine being made female - I think there's a term for that?

The cartoon Mulan had to use her feminine wit to turn otherwise brute force tasks into riddles she solved, and so the message I took away from it as a child was that men and women are good at different things and in different ways. Alongside that, I eventually gleamed the notion that brute force is often an inexcusable means to an end that isn't really what you were even going for, while using wit to overcome tests of strength still get you where you wanted or better without necessarily having to fuck shit up to get there. I was quite the tomboy who hated pink, dresses and the word "cute" for several years, and that movie legitimately made me take an uncomfortable look at the reality of the differences between men and women that would soon be my reality once I got old enough to no longer be stronger and faster than the boys my age.

Feels weird to say, but that movie helped somewhat in my path to getting over my hatred of my own femininity in that capacity. I don't think enough men understand or care that this kind of thing is so common and is a major driving force to create young TIFs. We're taught our entire lives that girls are just frufru shit to be mocked and picked on for fun by the boys (even the toy commercials not so long ago were often marketed to boys by showing them how much they could torment their sisters with them) who are the sole arbiters of intellectual, interesting, "cool" and "tough". I think Rika is still the most popular Digimon human character because so many girls who felt what I felt identified with her.

It's weird that toys were marketed to boys by showing how they could scare their sisters with them, when a lot of those toys were ones me and my sister owned like Creepy Crawlers. I'm so sad that the troon epidemic is making strict gender roles a thing again. When I was a kid I was allowed to enjoy all toys and activities without ever being judged or being told that it was "for boys". I loved both playing with barbies and princess dresses and also playing with cars and climbing trees and getting dirty in the mud and shooting a bow and arrow. I was never called a tomboy for enjoying boy things or wearing jeans overalls, it was just normal and accepted that girls can like those things too. I feel like we were already at a point in time where girls and boys were allowed to enjoy whatever they want cause THEY ARE KIDS! And now we are told that if a girl likes "boy things" she's actually a boy and if a boy likes "girl things" he's actually a girl. Cause how else would they be able to tell that a kid is "trans" other than they don't perfectly fit into the strict gender roles imposed by adults? It's so sickening. Just let kids be kids and enjoy whatever they want.

Yeah, dating apps in general are hellholes. I've seen a few successful relationships that started via Tinder but those are very much the exception. Last time I had a Tinder, it was mostly college kids trying to hook up or queer nonbinary troons looking for a third in their polyamorous relationship. That said, there were also some conservative tradwife types looking for a man's man who loves Jesus and Trump and country girls with fishing pfps. I gave up pretty quickly, but it made for an interesting experience going from Lauren the proud MAGA Christian to Luna the anarchocommunist poly femme.

Like @JambledUpWords said, you're definitely better off trying to meet people irl, especially if you seek out events/classes/meetups that match your interests. That way you at least have a commonality to start from. Even if you don't find anyone, you'll probably still have more fun than you would on a Tinder date.

Guys in their 20's-30's who are willing to throw their whole career away because they couldn't stop using porn on literal government hardware. Pretty fucked up on its face. Then I got a little conspiratorial and now I'm wondering if the US government response to shutting this shit down is delayed because a non-zero percentage of operators don't want to compromise their own supply. For some women, natural births might be more pleasant if they have bad reactions to epidurals. Others really benefit from the anesthesia. That said, you can still have a natural birth at the hospital, and I’d recommend it in case complications happen where you’d need a hospital anyway. That’s at least my take. This dude has no idea how painful birth is, and the advances in medicine have made it loads safer than it used to be. Childbirth was one of the biggest killers of young women in the time before modern medicine. In undeveloped countries, it’s still a big killer for women, mostly due to lack of presence of proper medical care and antibiotics.

Tonight be the night for PLing I guess, but I would have died if I hadn't given birth in a hospital. Another woman I know is enduring an extensive hospital stay due to postpartum preeclampsia (she is not overweight or 'old' and she and her baby would have died without medical intervention.)

Women should share stories about giving birth with one another. Yes, it is scary, but giving birth without an understanding of the potential outcomes is scarier. For your average lady, giving birth is the first extended hospital stay she'll experience. Even if the birth is 100% perfect, it is a major medical event and detailing the aftermath is helpful for, to put it in crude business terms, levelsetting.

Also any nigga who memes on a woman for wanting a career best be pulling exceptional cash money. Many ladies who work are trying to secure a future for their children, including paying for college. Lots of dudes out there are too 'intellectual' to submit to The System and work an unpalatable 9-5 but expect long term support for their spawn to materialize out of nowhere I guess.
