The weird part to me is that in a bid to completely remove accountability, the women in those cases are usually touted as a victim as well. They were brainwashed by the man who was pulling the strings. You see that in all number of cases, whether it's a couple murdering their best friend by burning him alive for his wallet, or a woman colluding with her lover to murder her husband and then posing in pornographic photos with his corpse. It doesn't make a very good case for women to claim they're susceptible to war crime-level debauchery just because they have a bad boyfriend.Female enables are a thing, and half of the pedophile cases have an active woman In it who either suppress the child or provide the child herself.
In the most damning child exploitation case known as daisy destruction a woman was not only involved but actively participated in it.
I thought I was supposed to sue them until they gave in and had sex with me. I followed every tip and trick of this dating advice manual, and I thought it was starting to work! Now you're telling me there's another way??Maybe the secret to getting a gf is to literally ask out every woman you see, who you find attractive, in public till one says yes.
The Boomhauer tactic has its merits.Maybe the secret to getting a gf is to literally ask out every woman you see, who you find attractive, in public till one says yes.
Mostly dumb, I don't understand "her" or "drive" myself tbqhView attachment 5358610
Thoughts on these lists fellas ? I'd like to get the man hate thread's participants' thoughts for the films on the right if I wasn't threadbanned.
And the men's side is mostly war/survival stories. Methinks it betrays the sex's natural roles.I love how half the films on "Men will never understand core" are about sex and relationships
If I had to make a guess it’s because it’s about extreme vanity and self delusion. Bateman is a literal serial killer who openly admits to murder yet none of his rich wall street friends care or notice because everyone is so self absorbed. Why is American Psycho on the 'men will never understand' side?
Falling down is a great movieView attachment 5358610

My immediate reaction to this was:
- Why the hell is point break on both lists lmao

I'm an uncultured swine, I haven't seen 99% of these.View attachment 5358610

I'm assuming you are being facetious.
I have not seen 90% of these films so I think I'm ultimately in the Uncultured Swine Core categoryView attachment 5358610

American Psycho the book was written by a (closeted at the time) gay man where the book is simultaneously used to criticize American consumerism and as a way for the author to work through his drug addiction and self loathing of his gayness. If I had to make a guess it’s because it’s about extreme vanity and self delusion. Bateman is a literal serial killer who openly admits to murder yet none of his rich wall street friends care or notice because everyone is so self absorbed.
So basically, this list is arguing that Patrick Bateman is a woman? If I had to make a guess it’s because it’s about extreme vanity and self delusion. Bateman is a literal serial killer who openly admits to murder yet none of his rich wall street friends care or notice because everyone is so self absorbed.
I've never met a single dude who thinks that. Patrick Bateman is a worthless, uselless piece of shit.too many men have found ways to idolize him as some kind of strong alpha male role model
It usually works though and saves them a lot of prison time simply for being women. It doesn't make a very good case for women to claim they're susceptible to war crime-level debauchery just because they have a bad boyfriend.
Is the violence in American Psycho real? As in, in the story, does the character Patrick Bateman really commit all those heinous acts? Are they in his head? Is it vague and up to interpretation?I have not seen 90% of these films so I think I'm ultimately in the Uncultured Swine Core category
American Psycho the book was written by a (closeted at the time) gay man where the book is simultaneously used to criticize American consumerism and a way for the author to work through his drug addiction and self loathing of his gayness.
American Psycho the movie is directed by a women who focused the film on the absurd levels of shallow toxic masculinity that Patrick and his "friends" display.
In either work, Patrick is suppose to come off as a shallow, uninteresting, one-dimensional psychopath who can barely function in his gold-plattered life. In order to cope with being a callous bastard in paradise, he turns to extreme violence as a self serving act that he thinks makes him unique in a world of faceless suits. However the ultimate point is such a life style is just as devoid of meaning and impact as the rest of the non-murderous wallstreet rats.
Despite Patrick Bateman being an unequivocally weak-willed, terrible, sadistic, buffoonish, empty, trust-fund baby of a character, too many men have found ways to idolize him as some kind of strong alpha male role model despite both works featuring him showing exactly the opposite.
I've unfortunately met several. I find it difficult to understand how anyone can view Bateman in a positive light when at his very best he is a useless wallstreet VP who spends his office hours drawing childish torture fantasies while high off coke. While spending his off hours with other useless VP's going clubbing and eating at high end restaurants. How can anyone relate to a character who's entire personality is based solely on the brands he wears and the expensive things he owns.I've never met a single dude who thinks that. Patrick Bateman is a worthless, uselless piece of shit.
The violence is totally up for interception but whether its real or not doesn't actually impact just how shitty Patrick as a character is portrayed. If its fake, than Patrick represents the idea that plenty of seemingly inconsequential and invisible people are walking around with highly elaborate violent fantasies. If its real than Patrick represents the total callousness of American capitalism where every suit is just as psychopathic as the last and a multiple homicide investigation isn't worth the forgetful clean up of an extremely high valued New York apartment. Regardless of whether the violence was real or imaginary, Patrick manages to exhibit some of the worst character tributes known to mankind and I think the inherent character study was more important to the author/director than the defined events of the story. Is the violence in American Psycho real? As in, in the story, does the character Patrick Bateman really commit all those heinous acts? Are they in his head? Is it vague and up to interpretation?
I read the novel a long time ago and I remember how Patrick completely unravels near the end, which puts everything into question and the violence works as some sort of metaphor. On the other hand, the fact that he does all those things and no one seems to notice/care fits perfectly into the satire of the novel.
I haven't seen the film so I don't know how the adaptation treats it.
