Childhood ODD transforms into Cluster B Antisocial Personality Disorder in adulthood.
Yeah, but I think his point is that Nick acts like an obstinate child as an adult, as opposed to an adult sociopath.
I dunno man. Have you read the diagnostic criteria for ASPD lately?
Now look at Nick. Pretty sobering, no? It's like he checks all the boxes these days.
I'm no psychiatrist though. Also Null has self-admitted to being diagnosed with ODD as a child, but I don't see the same traits in Null as an adult that I see in Rekieta. Yeah, Null
famously despises authority, but the deviancy, manipulation, and dishonesty isn't really there IMO. DSM standards require multiple symptoms to be present. So we might assume ODD doesn't always transition into full blown ASPD.
It's also possible Nick was misdiagnosed with ODD, but he has actually always had ASPD. While ODD is a childhood disorder, ASPD manifests in childhood, and continues into adulthood.
That's without factoring in that Nicky is an alcoholic and has abused stuff like "MDMA". He is definitely suffering from mental impairment, it's also possible he has regressed as well and that would change how the disorder manifests.
That's why I've been loathe to try and focus in on a diagnosis for Nick this whole time. I'm not qualified to do so, and psychiatry is an
extremely imperfect science. It's been an open secret in the psychiatric community for years that DSM codes are basically just billing codes.
It think it's enough to just say he's a drunken niggerfaggot.
If he has a personality disorder, it's guaranteed in his case to be co-occurring with a substance abuse disorder. That has a tendency to make diagnosis a PITA. If anybody were to try to diagnose and treat Rekieta, the very first thing they would do is tear the bottle away from him to get a more reliable baseline for what they're working with.
