I can't say when but I came up with a theory on how it will happen.

Some big shot in NAFO circles will get into a polarizing controversy that will cause the movement to split into two or more bickering factions, for lack of a better term.

The factions will continue to fight amongst themselves until the controversy dies down.

This wouldn't be the end of NAFO but will cause it to be a shadow of it's former self.

People who get into internet slap fights over armored fighting vehicles really do seem to overlook how ATGMs, artillery shelling, minefields, and other non tank threats can hinder or destroy armor on the battlefield. With the proliferation of cheap drones the range of threats has only grown.

It's always been retarded to try to reduce the comparison of AFVs to one on one in a vacuum but the internet has certainly lowered the bar for entry there.

Most people don't get shit like this. A lot of countries just can't afford a fully kitted Abrams tank. BUT...those old modernized T-62's over there, with a decent 115mm smoothbore gun that have (albeit old) thermals? Fuck yeah, that fits Country A's budget, and is basically equal to its neighbors. Fits the budget and requirements. Everything else is overkill, and/or can be handled by ATGM teams and aircraft.

That is yet another sign of the tank sperg: they dont see synergy between the forces. Say your tanks just cant cut it. Your helicopters that youve invested a ton in with Hellfire or TOW missiles can, while the tanks provide a distraction in the meantime. You can make a lot of 2nd hand equipment work for you with good strategy and tactics.

No shit. For many people that only watch movies, they think they need a tank to kill a tank. Not so. That's the most efficient way, but not the only way. Hit it with enough HE, and it'll be in no condition to fight. Blanket the land with smoke, and it can't shoot you. The autocannons on a IFV can still damage tracks, gun barrels, and optics. You just need to stop it from killing you, not nessicarily burn it down (though a 152mm shell will)

People ignore that's how the soviets killed German tigers and panthers, a big slab of 152mm would knock the turret out of alignment and create so much spalling the tank would be a meat milkshake inside if the ammo somehow didn't explode due to the shock.

Same thing in the battle of Berlin, flaktowers with 128mm flattened is-2 rushing towards the Reichstag until they ran out of ammo.


About the T-14 spergout, it's pretty simple, it's currently not needed.
A T-72, T-90, T-80 are perfectly fine to take out early leopard 2s, M1s without uranium armor or Slovakian T-55s, they don't even use the newest ammo types simply because it's not fucking needed despite spookston and lazerpig raging about how the Russians are dumb.

Same thing happened with the Koreans, the K2 lingered for decades until showing up to mass production back in the mid 2010s, you simply don't need the most expensive mass produced tank when your likely enemy is fielding T-62s and you have thousands of M1 Abrams clones.
The K2 is designed to replace the Korean army m48s and m60s still in service, no the k1s and certainly not in a 1-1 basis.
