If it was Elliot Dong Gone for example, there would already be an article out about how he paid off another person's debt which was caused by an evil harassment network.

While I completely agree that Elliot wouldn’t pay off debts for people without using it as a chance to demonstrate his “generosity”, I think Dong Gone certainly didn’t in this case out of fear of being targeted by the pests.

Also, he doesn’t seem interested in helping anyone with his money. If he isn’t helping that Phil guy who claims to be his assistant with moving or even paying him, he is not going to help a fat pig who isn’t even a troon.
