HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — A bank recently shut down the accounts of conspiracy theorist Alex Jones’ media company, citing unauthorized transactions — a move that caused panic at the business when its balances suddenly dropped from more than $2 million to zero, according to a lawyer for the company.

The action last week by Axos Bank also exposed worry and doubt at the company, Free Speech Systems, about being able to find another bank to handle its money.

Jones, a conservative provocateur whose Infowars program promotes fake theories about global conspiracies, UFOs and mind control, is seeking bankruptcy protection as he and his company owe $1.5 billion to relatives of victims of the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Connecticut.

The debt is the result of the families winning lawsuits against Jones for his calling the massacre that killed 26 people a hoax and his supporters threatening and harassing the victims’ families.

A lawyer for Free Speech Systems, Ray Battaglia, told a federal bankruptcy judge in Houston on Tuesday that Axos Bank had shut down the company’s accounts on Aug. 21 “without notice or warning.”

Battaglia said he and a court-appointed overseer of Free Speech Systems’ finances were both out of the country when they received “frantic” messages about the company’s bank balances dropping to zero.

Bank officials, he said, didn’t provide much information.

According to Battaglia, Axos claimed it had contacted Free Speech Systems in July about a transaction and the company did not respond, which Battaglia disputed. The bank also indicated there were unauthorized transactions, but didn’t go into detail, he said. He said the bank informed Jones’ company that it would be sending a cashier’s check for the total balance.

“So we’re perplexed,” Battaglia told the bankruptcy judge. “We have no answers for the court. They (the bank) have not provided us with any.”

Battaglia said the media company will have to seek another bank or take Axos to court “because we just don’t know who will bank us.” At the request of Jones’ lawyers, Axos did agree to reopen the company’s accounts for 30 days but it appears it will not extend the relationship beyond that, he said.

Spokespeople for Axos did not return email messages seeking comment Wednesday. An email sent to Infowars also went unanswered, as have previous messages.

Jones and Free Speech Systems make the bulk of their money from selling nutritional supplements, survival gear, books, clothing and other merchandise, which Jones hawks on his daily web and radio show.

According to the company’s most recent financial statement filed in bankruptcy court, it had more than $2.5 million in its Axos accounts at the end of August after bringing in more than $3 million in revenue during the month. The company paid out over $2 million in expenses and other costs, leaving a net cash flow of $1 million.

The bankruptcy judge, Christopher Lopez, will be deciding how much money Jones and Free Speech Systems will have to pay creditors, including the Sandy Hook families. Jones is appealing the court awards, citing free speech rights and missteps by judges.

In 2018, social media companies including Facebook, YouTube and Apple banned Jones from their platforms. It is not clear if Jones’ views have anything to do with Axos Bank’s actions.

To what bank?
I imagine you could just give him cash to pay the judgment. If you can manage to find the 15 million people willing to give him $100 the logistical piece of moving the physical money shouldn't be too difficult to line up. It'll be like that scene in Scarface where they're counting the money.

There's presumably an escrow account in place that holds the money received from him to distribute out to the plaintiffs.

Who knows, if someone tries to prevent it we could turn this into a SCOTUS case and guarantee the right to use physical currency as legal tender for all transactions at all businesses.

>Sir! How do we stop people from falling for these baseless lies about Sandy Hook?!
>I’ve got it! Let’s ban anyone who says them and offer no actual reason as to why they are wrong, and then take away all their money!

Gee, I wonder why so many people start to believe in the lies. It’s a true mystery.

Why do people in this thread like Alex Jones? He is a conspiracy theorist that spews bullshit for a living. I remember watching his coverage of Las Vegas shooting from 1 october 2017. The FBI just entered the hotel room of the shooter and Alex Jones was spewing bullshit about his FBI source and that his FBI source told him that the shooter had antifa flags and the room was full of antifa flags, information that was false and made only to promote his agenda of "antifa bad" (which they are, fuck all the commies). He lies with everything. and is not just "well he sometimes sensationalize the truth" no, he lies. A guy shoots up a concert, that is the truth, Alex Jones comes in and talks about how the guy is antifa, how his CIA source told him that they carry the weapons to him, how the FBI killed the shooter and that there is a taliban women in the room with the shooter, and all of that was false.

I don't like the guy, but I don't think he should be debanked for being a con artist and a retard.

For being a con artist he should because there are other people losing money. But we don't know exactly why he was debanked, we don't know what transactions he was doing. We need to wait until we find out or we can eat the victim bullshit that he will be spewing about the jews and how the elites are after him.

but the post office is required by law to provide service to everyone. So the "It'S a PrIvAtE bUsInEsS" argument escapes me, I would really be interested in the actual reasons and justification for their actions on this.
The difference is the post office is run by the government. The internet is run by private companies, and they can choose who they serve.

Why do people in this thread like Alex Jones?
Because him and people like him are always gonna be the first peg to take down when it comes to destroying and policing people's speech. Most people support free speech until they are confronted the fact they have to truly defend Alex Jones being platformed and being allowed to say what he wants to say on any space, so even though Alex Jones lied about the Sandy Hook shit(which looking into it, some of the parents kinda did it to themselves for lying about the events of the shooting). Because of this Alex Jones is gonna be seen as an anti-hero on here, the perception is he's fighting a moral and good fight, even if the shit he says is batshit insane.

Why do I feel they want him to commit suicide by fucking with him so much?

They can't kill him, that will raise way too many questions, so let's just fuck his life up so much he ends up on the end of a barrel by himself.

If I were Alex Jones I would fled to South America and keep my grift there.

Certain kinds of scamming like credit card fraud type stuff, certainly. I was more referring to his weird water filter shit rather than identity theft.

You're right, though; it's a good idea to get more information. That being said, I don't exactly trust people in power not to lie, considering the excuses all those companies had for dropping Kiwifarms. I'm not going to go full conspiratard about it, however.

There’s rumors that he actually pissed off Obama early into the presidency because he saw that Barry from Hawaii was just Black Bush who’s worse at basketball then Bush Sr. and just as likely to have killed JFK.
Confusing shit

Alex Jones made Obama's enemies list at the very start of his first term by outing to Rolling Stone that Obama was buying off journalists and media types, promising them the world in exchange for being Obama propagandists. Jones said Obama offered to have his media cronies take Jones show nationwide on mainstream radio and give him the Howard Stern type media push, because they assumed that since Jones was critical of Bush when it was career suicide to denounce Bush and his ears, that Jones was a lefty deep down and would serve as Obama's Glorious Godfrey.

Jones told Obama's men that he wasn't for sale and the whole incident confirmed to Jones that Obama was a fraud and Obama vowed to destroy Jones for rejectibg his offer and outing the fact that Obama was conspiring with the media to shill his agenda and silence criticism and scandals.

I do keep other bank accounts as they're multi-national and what-not, but I enjoyed having a bank where I can call the number and not get a switchboard, and I can ask for a specific person and we know each other, and not just because we're both local, but because they knew my mom, and knew me as a child, or we went to school together.
Same here. The nearby bank used to be local/regional for a long time with staff that worked there for many years and were known in their local community. It was a big plus to talk to someone who was familiar enough with clients and their banking needs to know what should and shouldn't be recommended.

Ever since the bank was merged into a multinational one, the long-time employees retired, new staff turnover is higher, and one needs an appointment to do anything other than make deposits or withdrawals because there's not enough staff to handle any walk-in clients with needs that can't be handled by a regular teller. Additionally, the staff that handle the one-on-one appointments tend to want to upsell services that aren't always a best fit for clients and their financial situations

The aforementioned Patriot Act now makes ordinary tasks such as adding or removing someone from an account an exercise in paperwork and writer's cramp from all the forms that have to be printed and signed.

Then whether it's true or not, I see that it's not about justice, but sending a message, and I'm just curious what the message is, because I have a hard time believing it's "leave grieving parents alone."
I could be wrong, but the message I get from this and other cancel culture efforts is, "Engaging in wrongthink is hazardous to your future well-being." It's one thing to hold people accountable for their conduct, but this goes too far.

, and now that I'm reading this thread there is supposedly evidence of Finders tier satanic child rape tunnels

You read that wrong dipshit, somebody was guessing that might be what it was. Stop spreading misinformation newfaggot dipshit glow-nigger (he registered 2 days ago and is saying shit like this, take warning also all the upvotes are people that never post for the most part)

Here is what was said so nobody takes this newfaggot dipshit nigger faggot-glowie seriously and keeps spreading the shit.

Judging from the fact they had to demolish the building and additional houses I'm guessing it's more Finders tier satantic CIA child rape smuggling.

Satanic Panic was justified btw. They found tunnels under the school.

The school they are talking about is McMillian, (pages 46-48 of pt 1) oldschool shit that kicked-off the satanic panic. That was supposedly just made up but the maps are in the finders docs.

Dumb fucking glow nigger. Know what you're talking about before running your dumb fucking mouth.

Nigger, do you even know how to read any of the articles, links, or comments in this thread? Whether he lies or not (most of the time his ramblings have more than a few grains of truth to them) isn't the fucking point. It isn't about whether people like or dislike him, or agree or disagree with him. Most of us just wholeheartedly disagree with the fact that he has been practically un-personed on every level and not even allowed to function in modern society, simply because of what he says. That goes against the very founding principles of the United States, and should horrify and concern every single person who lives in the US. Alex Jones has broken no laws, yet has had a billion-plus dollar judgement against him for speaking put against The Narrative™️. He has been deplatformed from every single media platform that he has been on, and sponsors have been "pressured" to drop him. And now, his bank has dropped him as a client, so what's next? Everyone talks about the slippery slope and I'm goddamn tired of saying it myself, but at this rate we're not THAT far off from throwing him in the gulag and serving him some novichok stew, Soviet style.

I wasn't talking about the internet, I was talking about banks, which are defacto government institutions at this point. But on the topic of the internet, we've also increasingly seen government "influence", especially lately with the Twitter files, and British pressure on Russell Brand, worldwide on private companies to do their bidding when these governments don't have the legal means to be brazenly open about silencing people themselves.
