I was actually talking to someone irl about it and I think that first time he did molly, if you remember, he said it took forever to kick in, to the point he thought it was just a dud, then kicked in full force. I suspect he got impatient and thought it didn't work and took some extra and that maybe why his brain fried so quickly and suddenly.
