Give me attention! ...No, not like that.

Ellen wants all of the benefits of being a porn star but none of the costs.

I was going back and forth on this one for a while. It’s an ongoing comic by larkness_ on Instagram about birds working in an office that’s supposed to be some kind of critique on corporate capitalism (which I admittedly can’t say much about), and it’s decently inoffensive, art style’s okay. But something about it has always rubbed me the wrong way. Other than that, my biggest gripe is that the world building makes little to no sense.

Guess I’ll just let the thread judge this one.

Wait, if the cat's supposed to be the CEO then who does the owner represent? The shareholders? Apart from that these are just ice-cold "boss bad" takes.

Does the author speak English as a second language or is she (I'm assuming it's a she) doing it on purpose to be quirky?

The owner apparently has no idea that his cat is a CEO from what I’ve seen. Considering this seems to be set in reality, where people question why birds need phones, I’m wondering how this cat even started up an apparently successful marketing business.
And the author is a Brazilian woman.
Edit: I almost forgot there’s other boss cats apparently

It's weird. She can't seem to decide whether to make a satire of abuse in the workplace, or a whimsical slice-of-life comic like Garfield.

That’s pretty much what it is. Whimsical slice of life with quirky characters who are abused by their boss, while somehow being stupid enough to repeatedly miss his VERY unsubtle hints that he wants to fatten and eat them.

Ayo, how the fuck did the guy who created Bomango go from the most viable long term story version of his Bomango narrative into creepy piss porn on deviantart? How does that work?

How does that one bird who's going on vacation afford said vacation if work bad job bad?

To answer your question, she was eventually forced to go on vacation because she was losing weight. Yeah.

Though she’s likely not going down anytime soon because she’s a major character and takes care of a lot of shit. Actually, I’m only now noticing how none of the major characters seem to be in immediate danger for now. Rachel and the thicc bird with the “communist bullshit” line? Appeared like two or three times before getting the axe. Maybe that’ll change, idfk. I might be nitpicking, but that does kill some potential tension.

He wants her to go on vacation because she's losing weight and he doesn't want to eat a skinny bird ohoho so clever.

These comics are visually appealing but the dialog and nonexistent punch-lines leave much to be desired

Ellen at it again. This time, people are calling out her bullshit.
Beat me to it. Reminder that this woman is around 40 years old, and is still acting like an 18 year old on Reddit. If this is what she's like online I can't even imagine what she must be like in person. When the top comments on Reddit of all places are giving you shit, you know you've ruined your reputation. This whole thing has just been escalating since around summer this year, I can't wait to see how terrible she becomes by December. My guess is she becomes a persona non grata on r/comics at least.

She also acts like an 18 year old on OnlyFans too. I have to agree with the commenters, she is deliberately troll-baiting so she can cry while subtly nudging people over to her Patreon full of porn of her, both real and drawn.

I was going to share a webcomic I finally found again that was insufferable during the Trump era, but it’s late, so here’s something that just came up in my feed.

To some extent all Instagram webcomic artists are the same. Cute/“relatable” stuff, then politics out of nowhere, then getting all smug when they’re called out on it, complete with strawmen.
This comment was pretty funny though
