Goodbye Volcano High - "The Future of Gaming", The Parody Game of the Beloved Snoot Game Franchise

It's time for me to say "goodbye, snoot game". Thoughts on ending 2:
Pure and simple depression. It's the bleakest of all 4 endings. Even worse than ending 1.
I had my fill with that and decided to get ending 4 and delete this game. I don't know why I decided to install it, but I never regret it. As for gvh - I am not sure what is it's target audience? Furfags millennials with desire to consume cringe dialogues and inane qte? I don't think zoomers are that much into it

The cringe ride never ends

I have no word to express how ugly each character look.
A professional artist able to make GVH art WORSE than the source material is a new low.

Full script:
Hello! We are the same people who went through the reconstruction of the original script of Goodbye Volcano High.

Seeing that it became quite popular and at the same time many doubts arose and a few things were misinterpreted we are obliged not only to give detailed explanations but also to touch and cover everything that was done in the first moment until the release of the final game.

It should be noted that all information is a series of recapitulations through media left by devs to their social networks, extractions in files and codes of the game, and testimonies of people who were involved in the development, in which for obviousness we can not give names or make references to these people inside and outside this file, as well as the group creator of this "Leak".

We cordially request not to encourage harassment and towards people involved in the GVH and SG communities, none of these people really deserve to hate and/or pay for decisions that were not taken lightly, as well as not to ask for more information or sabotage projects outside of either community.

ALL INFORMATION PROVIDED IS FOR THE PURPOSE OF COMPILATION AND STUDY OF PERSONAL AND INFORMATIVE QUALITY. NO CRITICISM IS MADE OF THE WORK PRESENTED NOR IS IT DIRECTED AGAINST ANY COMMUNITY OR RELATED GROUP.

CAUTION FOR SENSITIVE CONTENT RELATED TO DRUGS, DEATH-RELATED TOPICS, SEXUALITY AND SELF EXPLORATION, USE YOUR OWN CAUTION.

Before anything else we will mark the sections with color before starting a paragraph to indicate that the information is:

-Blue For any doubtful information or information that is not 100% confirmed.
-Red For things that are likely to be bogus or not even past the production stage or a discarded idea.
-Green For things that are known to have existed, but did not make it into the final product, which WE reconstruct from the extracted information.

Once we have clarified this we move on to the index.

We know that there are people who only want certain information, which is why we feel the need to facilitate the reading of anyone who is curious.

We will instead bring all the information from:

1-Start of the project
2-Pre-GBH production stage
3-Post GBH Reboot (Original script reconstructed)

STAPE I
PROJECT START

It is not news to most that GVH emerged as a dating game where you could choose three different characters as protagonists Fang, Rosa and Leo.

Now although it seems to be only hard as a concept, the truth is that there was an advanced version, we will give details a little later.

Although progress was made on this project, the Devs entered into a government funding program. It seems unlikely, but the truth is that Canada has a program through the Ministry of Culture and programs that support Diversity and Gender projects.

These things also help indie studios and developers to thrive in the industry, hence why a lot of the venues are Toronto, Montreal and so on. While these things come from the hand of politicians and companies, also big studios like Ubisoft and Rockstar among others lend a kind of tithe to these projects. What does happen is that it is a place where companies focus their attention in search of both personnel and games for their catalogs.

The game stems from several loose ideas of the studio to give not only a LGBT+ representation but also as a kind of critique of a modern society and the generations most vulnerable to sudden changes in society.

The game also had the premise of emphasizing with the characters as the game progresses, but this is where the problems begin.

-Very big expectations from developers, not only at this point the executives and lenders were interested in the project, but it was working with somewhat delicate issues and the team was quite green at this time (2019 approximately) it was about giving choices in a new and very striking catalog but with diversity in it, Here, although the game was already in an advanced stage and with its own goals, a twist was given to the formula, this was done so that the game would not have to be delayed or even go out of hand to the developers. Although it is not known for sure if it was a creative decision or pressure from Sony executives or financiers.

Although it also seems that at this point the game was getting a bit out of hand for the devs and it seems that much of the purpose of this stage was to give not only voice to the characters, but also that all the main characters could sing.

A rumor is that before the creative team was looking for actors with the same inclinations both sexual and gender for who would give the voices. The problem is that before this, great actors were suggested for this but they did not meet this requirement or could not, actors such as Jamie Christopherson or Free Dominguez.

What follows is the creative refocus to the game that we knew first, here it should be noted that, although the script was rewritten almost from scratch, it was not really discarded beyond the mechanics of the dating simulator itself, but went to all work, models etc. to the narrative adventure that we would know as GVH.

STAGE II
PRE GVH PRODUCTION STAGE

While the game in terms of direction could be said to be on the right track, the direction both creatively and in gameplay varied greatly from the version presented, at this point in the story many employees left, although it is more than obvious that it was not so much the fault of where the game was headed but a mixture of everything that happened during 2020 and expired dates.

During this period ideas that were not previously used in the dating simulator were reused here, as well as a lot of material from the previous game, including assets, backgrounds and external elements, it is not known for sure but it seems that the Unreal Engine 4 was used during most of the process before being switched to Unity, the game at this point underwent a very different process in terms of gameplay starting from the basis of a more narrative adventure game in 3D similar in comparison to Life Is Strange to a 2.5 game with great emphasis that the animations were by hand, similar to games like Fran Bow, Little Fortune etc. where although there are backgrounds the character moves in 3D backgrounds being really 2 dimensional.

The creative process also went through a big change, what happened with the previous art team is really a mystery, but we estimate that it was due to creative differences that although they did not affect so much the development of the game, it is true that they had to adjust a lot of the characters with problems in their 3D rendering.

At this point the game could be said to be more directed to the final raw product that was planned, it should be clarified that it is estimated that at least 80 employees worked here in which these numbers were maintained throughout the pre-development, although it could still provide a unique approach in terms of narrative for the production stage.

STAGE III
GVH PRODUCTION AND SCRIPTING

As previously reported the game is divided into acts, these roughly marked rhythms in terms of gameplay and narrative, there is no more data on why it was changed or divided otherwise.
What follows is the script of the game that was presented to the public for the first time in 2020, it should be clarified that we will put everything that was missing and all the content that was originally going to be, there are things that we do not know the order or when they were removed, please we ask for understanding about possible errors in syntax and should clarify that none of the details discussed here is with the desire to make fun, we do not share ideas about the original script but neither discredit the devs behind it.

READ WITH CAUTION

The game begins with a Fang playing the electric guitar showing the things in his room, a small rhythm game that unlike what we have is a kind of mixture between a guitar rift with which you had to put the controller in a way that assimilated the strings of a guitar and the mouse or joystick as if it were the tremolo of this.

Something that differs a lot from the Fang we met is that this one was quite more expressive than the one we were shown, someone who doesn't have so much difficulty to express her feelings in terms of words, but with a great insecurity about her music, a problem to highlight from this beginning is that Fang doesn't reach certain notes in her voice or can't keep so much singing despite being more than decent at it.

Her brother interrupts her to eat and as she comes downstairs we realize that her parents are not there and the house is decorated with many elements of Hindu culture, after introducing Naser as someone rather more controlling and even serious he lets us see that when he is not tense he really enjoys joking with his sister.

Fang while eating you get to reference on TV and media as there are things related to electrical interference and things related to astrology, the player ignoring this opens the cell phone and shows a unique mechanic of its kind, it is a kind of calendar and to-do list where you can organize your day and the things you will do in it. As well as interact at almost any time with social networks, check your own music and view gallery, one thing that stands out here is that if you are observant you can attach stickers and keychains to Fang that serve both as achievements and that was necessary for a 100% in the game making you even have to play it more than once.

Fang this period preparing for school puts on his headphones and is testing in what musical styles are best for the band, as it would also affect the way in which the scenes occur, osease these would have other planes and would move according to the music that Fang prefers. Although it could not be found and could not show the original songs think of them as a modern indie rock and mixed with undergrund styles or even Funky in this part.

Arriving at the school shows us a bit of the diversity of the campus, the designs above are based on pre-2020 fashion with the students being a big part of the decor, but being able to interact with them in short dialogues but revealing little bits of lore as well as comments about the school and unimportant things.

We are introduced to Trish, a girl much more energetic than her counterpart, in this version there is no Mango, but instead we have Leo, another discarded character who was Sage's love interest, although he does not belong to the band he thinks they are great people and so on, before Sage and Stella appear Leo leaves because he is ashamed that Sage sees him blushing and losing his cool attitude.

The group makes comments about their lives and activities, here it should be clarified that Stella was much more docile and even submissive, throughout the game she is seen losing some weight and wearing a long sleeve shirt instead of the short one she is supposed to wear.

Here show some of your previously composed songs to the group giving you a choice of which ones and how to defend yourself from comments. During class the devices start to malfunction, even the projector of the teacher in question begins to give failures, students make comments that pass by the attention of the prota, Fang at this time is talking by message with someone unknown for a long time but who seems to have a lot of confidence. While she can not send more messages, she decides in the dead time of the class to compose her own song with her mind, the genre and rhythm of the song will depend on the player and how he assembles it and it can be of a different genre or another, in turn Fang sees herself playing all the instruments as if it were a game of IncrediBox.

The class ends and the first rehearsal happens, in which you can choose which song to practice, unlike the rhythm game of the original game this is separated, because there is penalty Fang will go into a frenzy and will give you more score and even the visuals of the game will change, depending on the result the band will say some things or others, we will be introduced to Naomi which is nothing subtle that she is interested in some way Fang, in which this may act being rude, cutting, play along or even flirt with her. The decision you make during this time is determined by the type of guitar you play.

Here you will be given the choice between returning home early or getting to know more of the dinosaurs of the place, you can for example meet Rosa ahead of time, help Stella with her anxiety problem, chat with Reed about his brother or leave and walk around Volcano High.

What stands out from this part:

-You will meet Fang's rival gangs being almost stereotypes, but with more personality.
-You will meet a character who is a church father with whom you interact later on.
-You will find more stickers and key chains to collect.

At some point you will arrive home in the evening, when you are in your room and zapping on the TV you realize that the news of the meteorite is everywhere, here you can send memes to your group of friends and social networks or show concern about everything, between the end of the night you will have lucid dreams with a similar style to Silent Hill in terms of aesthetics and gameplay that lasts no more than 2 minutes, being a representation of the insecurities of Fang.

The game remains faithful to the above mentioned mechanics, but in Fang's mind there are many more doubts than she can answer, she comments to all the things that are happening and teaches a couple of songs that were pending, the game depending on the decisions previously taken will give us to choose a type of song that comes out a little more of the genre of the band, according to her "Do not get used and close to only one genre".

While at the institute the news that there is a very high probability of an impact plus the increase of failures in the system makes people really upset, after an emergency assembly the gang heads to their respective homes but not before giving a choice of characters to choose from in L&L.

At night Fang's friends and other extra characters like Reed's brother and Leo decide to accompany a very enthusiastic Reed to play, depending on the moral alignment of the character the style of music and our hobbies with other characters will vary, as well as the outcome being this, something to note is that we would see the characters as several references to video games and anime, such as Final Fantasy 6, Chrono Trigger, Golden Sun etc. and even pixel art parts, all this with a couple of references to famous role playing games like Brolaire and Critical role.

It will be up to the player how to get out of the situations, but even the players themselves will not take the game so seriously and it will be up to us to direct the group to give it a more comic or dramatic approach.

Once the first campaign is over, everyone goes to their respective homes, giving the option to stay and talk to x person or not.

Act 2

At night after the news of the meteorite echoes for bad Fang goes to bed late at night in which she dreams of the object in question seeing herself lost and without a mouth as if she can't even scream or ask anything.

In the morning he wakes up changing course on a few things in his day, deciding if he can go to:

Visit Stella to see if with her "Magic" she can connect words with the meteorite, this triggers a whole branch where you can go to interact with Stella and her "Dark Arts", that is, they use a kind of liquid flowers where they make her hallucinate with the excuse that the way you have, her house is adorned with various religious symbols of all kinds as her family is very given to such things, plus she is seen wearing a long-sleeved shirt this time.

During the astral travel Fang goes through different paths and different styles of art in her drawing, changing to while the effect lasts, the journey continues and she sees herself in space, seeing everything up to the object she wants to talk to, receiving ambiguous and very free answers as to her situation, the future, love and what is life.

Then when she gets up and sees that she is drenched in sweat she quickly sees Stella, she thinks that she had killed her and gives way to a deep dialogue that it is fate and so on, but she keeps hiding something that is not clear yet.

-Visiting Rosa, where she shows him her garden and talks to him about the plants and flowers, it is made clear that Rosa feels quite lonely, and that only lately she feels a little better but she still feels bad, something to highlight and that narrates the relationship of some plants with others, and how these adapt according to the needs, Fang interprets it as if each person were a different type of flower with its respective problems and way of confronting them, giving her a little peace.

-While visiting Trish they begin to reminisce about old times where they remember songs they composed before and at the same time Trish feels more like family with Fang than her own family, in which they are not bad but they are very busy, adding to the fact that lately they have them worried, she will see Trish's parents that although they treat her with luxury Trish is not the best with them, While Trish takes care of Trish goes to get a couple of things Fang stays reflecting with his father about everything that is happening, realizing that he is a very happy man, he can eat every day with his wife and children, on Saturdays he can watch games on TV and on Sunday he has dinner with his family, all this while he fixes an engine of a truck, and that despite being sick and having gone through many things he cannot not be grateful with what he has.

Fang appreciates the chat and when Trish returns they head to Reed's house to rehearse.

-While visiting Reed they have a light conversation about the future of the band and as individuals, as well as the supposed end of the world is affecting him, although it is understood that Fang knows Reed's brother he doesn't pay too much attention to him, wanting to interact with Reed's brother, Orson doesn't try something cutting at the beginning until little by little he unravels realizing that in spite of probably having wasted his youth in failed dreams he is happy that at least he took Reed through better ways than his person, if it goes well, he will give us advice on how to sing better, in case he had this advice Fang will sound a little more animated by the other sections and will be able to unlock some more moving songs (similar to Green Day's style).

-When visiting Naomi we will discover on our own that she likes us, which we can proceed in different ways in which the choices do not stand out so much since it does not seem to be that they had quite the course of this, they had clear that in spite of her appearance she loves metal music and that one of her dreams is to be in a concert at the end of the world with the people she loves. While this would give us to prepare a date later Naomi's family would interrupt us to get us out one way or another.

-When visiting Sage, he will give us a tour of all the things we have missed and showing the best of his side, as he shows us his recipes and cooking we realize that he usually makes more mistakes than usual, at some unspecified moment he starts to cry because he knows that things will not get better, feeling very useless, how he can not be happy and not being able to find happiness in the thing he wanted the most, which was cooking.

Fang could help Sage by showing that happiness does not lie in something specific but in everything we do and achieve as even for her just being with her friends is a gift from the universe itself, and that really happiness lies in the details and the moments of both sadness and joy, this would make Sage cook a sweet and sour dish that leaves Fang in awe.

-When visiting Leo we quickly realize that he was at some point someone with very good social status in the family, Leo however feels overwhelmed by the expectations of his parents which will make them leave the house and showing their gifts in drawing decide to go to a park to graffiti together a mural that was also very graffitied by many more people, besides giving much publicity to his band Fang realizes that Leo is really good at drawing, after drawing each other Leo finishes a portrait of Fang playing his band on a mural they can't celebrate because they end up getting caught and after a short chase they end up chatting together in a skate park where there is no one, Leo opens up more that he loves to draw and that he really feels free painting, so that later Fang would realize that he has drawn Leo and Sage on a hidden mural, while Fang may or may not say anything to Leo, in either case Leo will take the day well.

-Finally, when we go out with Naser, he will tell us about the school, how it is getting worse and worse with the closure of many other institutions for the same reason, Naser feels worse and worse, to the point of hyperventilating on several occasions, that's when they take out his father's secret cellar to get drunk while they are not there, Being quite drunk they let out some anger and personal things about other people along with embarrassing anecdotes, then the conversation goes up a level cursing their luck and how especially Naser feels very lonely despite being surrounded by people to such an extent is his anger that he repeatedly hits the wall until he bleeds, Fang as he can takes him to the bathroom to make him vomit and leaving the two exhausted looking at the ceiling of this.

Everything we narrated was part of Fang's choices throughout the days, i.e. he can start with anyone or say whether to go out or not, happen between some school chapters, band practices and L&L sections.

As the days go by the news of the meteorite worsen, desperate people sometimes decide to go to visit their families or give everything, Fang will not be able to see his parents for the time being and classes are canceled, although chaos does not reign the situation is heavy to say the least, we have a couple of decisions to make before the meeting on the beach.

-Character of the Father: Although he never had a definite name, he seemed to be in addition to the biological father of Alvin the boy who likes Reed, this being very strict in terms of modeling and more in the situation that is found, you could sabotage their ceremonies or try to show other sides to the Father, we highlight a moment that we managed to convince that no matter the religion of the people if we all die under the same sky and feel the same things, and that despite everything will always be his son there, accepting his mistakes but without leaving the faith to the side. Being able, in his own words, to "mess with the devil himself for the happiness of the flock".

-School Wrecking: When classes are cancelled Fang could go with some friends of Leo, Trish and Reed to Volcano School to break and vandalize everything while recording their video as a kind of Video clip of some song that Fang previously decided.

-The date with Naomi in a bar: Fang and Naomi would go out on a date, although it is also given to interpretation that they could be People we could engage in conversations with social networks but being Naomi with whom real mind stands out, which we will take her to a kind biker bar that more than make her feel uncomfortable feels very good, the show starts and Naomi drinks exaggeratedly too much, before something worse happens Fang takes a very drunk Naomi humming in a bad way the songs that were played, claiming to sleep in the tree house that has in the yard, these get very close as people but nothing happens more than that because it is discovered by Naomi's parents.

Finally, after going over the election events etc we arrive at the obligatory sequence of the Fiesta del fin del mundo, in which it really is a very big party on the beach with people who can not travel or do not want to go anywhere, the festival is so big that covers several thousand people, on the stages there are several references to famous artists such as LP, TOP Foo fighters etc although they do not mention that these artists are clear tributes to these artists.

During the party, several events take place.
-Sage kisses a lot of people.
-Stella gets high ugly
-Trish breaks a bottle for someone.
-Naser is lost
-Reed is super drunk
-Rosa feels uncomfortable
Etc...

While you can solve everything and even get on stage to sing with some artists you will end up falling, but nothing will happen to you.

The party goes out as it will intervene the police to clear the whole place, Fang and company end up in another beach further away at night lit by a large bonfire with more unknown people, at this point you can connect with new people and even be able to link to people known, unknown or even people of your group at the party, here we are given to understand that they planned a small mini game of sex, although it is nothing explicit as it only shows the background of the scenes, and hands etc., if it was something that is not implicitly sexual beyond the content, as giving more emphasis on the act and the situation as well as the music and the actions of the player in this.

Later they all say goodbye for the night and don't meet again until the night of one of Fang's practice concerts, this time at a bar owned by an acquaintance of Reed's brother, the show.

will not end well for Fang, no matter how well she plays the thoughts will be too much for her and not until one person taunts that everyone in a herd starts throwing things at them and booing them. This triggers Fang to run off, blaming things on her friends and going home alone in the rain. In the middle of an intersection Fang stops to watch the rain, in which he decides to sing a song that will depend on the previous actions varies in tone and intensity, but seeing that it can reach the emotions he intends.

As he continues on his way through the rain and crying, Fang remembers his friends where they split the screen seeing that they are all unknowingly singing the same song they had composed but never played, when he gets home Fang takes a bath and sits in his room to tune the strings of the guitar he has, a string breaks and this unties all the things that Fang has accumulated breaking several things of his room until by the blows he breaks the glass frame that they had in the first concert the band, Fang takes it and after placing it in its place he checks in his cellular to see all the photos that he took throughout the day and in the previous ones, as also the old photos thinking about everything that he had while it sounds something similar to the song "Glimpse of Us".

Fang already tired just stands up and with her guitar without strings and quite broken decides to play as if it were in perfect condition, listening to the notes in her mind, after that she sings again the song she composed a long time ago, but in the best possible way.

Although they make up by messages their friends Fang is not entirely happy and calm about what is happening. Naomi proposes a mini party on the beach as the days go by, everyone arrives at the place where Sage brings out some homemade drinks from a long time ago and seeing that he is not blind they all drink together, they end up singing the player's style of music very horribly among all while laughing and having a good time.

It is not until the bottle game happens that they start throwing hints and ugly words between everyone that things get out of control, everyone despite being distressed completely ignore Fang's words, this is how everyone expels what is wrong with each other and the things they hate about this world.

Fang will even go to blows with Trish and if it weren't for Rosa everything will get worse, it is until the Aurora borealis comes out that everyone calms down and remains in complete silence in different places on the beach or retreats.

Similar to the final game, we will go card by card to solve problems with our friends, here it is not very clear if the original idea was that depending on the previous decisions it would be easier or directly it would be impossible to recompose friendships.

At some point in the night she dreams of everything she has accomplished so far while playing a song she has never finished before in front of a crowd of people. This makes her think very seriously about her situation, how the things she does are not coming out of her mouth and how the situation is really getting out of hand, it is not until she manages to have a very polite conversation with her parents that Fang manages to have the courage to play anyway despite the way things are going.

Here's who you can work things out with and who will actually be with you throughout Worm Drama's final concert.

Act 3

Before continuing, let's recapitulate details about Act 2 which are necessary to better understand its context.

We will be able to have the last appointments and/or outings as a role-playing game before the last concert.

-Visiting Stella may go wrong or we may treat her badly and she may not show up, suggesting perhaps the worst.
-Visiting Trish and treating her badly will cause her to beat us when we fight her.
-Visiting Reed and the decisions we make with the father character will make him feel able to play or not.
-Visiting Rosa and not treating her well will make her not show up and Trish will feel bad.
-The appearance of Sage and Leo will vary depending on how they performed together or separately at the concert.
-Depending on how Fang would have performed in social networks, there would have been more or less people at the concert.
-There are characters eliminated from this version that were never really given a context or were just temporary place holders.

There's more in the middle, but we think it's more appropriate to play it for the end.

In the final act of the band Fang will decide to play on the supposed final day or what is estimated to be a concert on top of a rooftop of an unspecified building overlooking the sea. While the outcome will vary whether she plays alone, accompanied and the different costumes she will wear for the concert, in which she will play a lot of songs along that were played before and the passion and tone she puts into it will depend on the previous acts played.

Before continuing with the concert and being tired Fang will have a last conversation by text chat with her parents in which despite not seeing each other she leaves a nice message that no matter if it is by person, image or whether they are there or there, no matter if the world ends or if they continue as normal for tomorrow or the decisions she made that led her there, they will love her no matter what happens and there is no god or external force that will not allow them to love her.

The concert resumes, seeing how there are even more people than before, filling the streets of the city and shouting everyone's name and that of the band.

If we have a good relationship with Naser he will speak from the heart to close the concert with the last song of the concert, making more than one in the audience and himself cry, after receiving the applause the band enters again to play the last songs.

We will divide into Bad, Neutral and Good endings because there are things that vary from ending to ending that, despite being details, are still important for 100%.

Bad ending:
Fang plays alone with almost no audience but taking out all the rage built up as you remember every single thing you did and the mistakes you made, the song is a very sentimental one about her situation as a person and as a dividual, and how of that doesn't matter as everyone die, but holding out hope that in another place and time someone else would have been a better person than her in her place and turning her into stardust as the song dictates as she dies as the screen goes black and white as the sound disappears and she resigns herself to imminent death.

Final Neutral:
Fang plays with a couple of friends and some important people in town. At the same time she feels grateful to at least be able to play one more time with the supportive people who really are all she needs. The end results in her playing the song they had to play in the battle which the bands will play the best they can while looking at the sky all the while accepting their fate and all the people present hug and hold hands as the electrical equipment fails, they sing the rest of the song in chorus while saying goodbye with a smile. The monologue at the end of Fang gives us to understand that despite everything it is not the end of HIS world. Wanting the player to get the best ending possible.

Final Good:
Following the events previously reported. there are all the friends you made on the way, and before continuing with the concert Fang gives a few words of happiness and expresses his eternal gratitude with life in general, implying that despite being the end of the world there is nothing he regrets in life and that if anyone regrets something or wants to express himself he should speak now

People start to tell their secrets and confess their insecurities, among them Leo confronts Sage and asks her to be his partner in front of the whole world, while the crowd screams for them to kiss, Stella rips her shirt and shows her cut marks saying she has nothing to hide from the universe anymore, Naser burns his jacket saying that he always thought it was ugly, Depending on who you go out with they will tell you they love you and you will get a kiss, Rosa will wear a dress with the colors of the Trans flag and Reed proposes to his crush leaving him very implicit that if he gets out alive he will marry him.

Throughout the songs the sunset is ending at the same time that the light is completely gone, fortunately Fang have a generator and the light of the Aurora borealis illuminates the beach and the people as it can, that's when everyone takes out their cell phones, a great roar interrupts them all, and expecting the worst everyone turns only to see a great meteor shower illuminating the sky as if it were Christmas lights, The news that the meteorite broke into billions of pieces and now fortunately the earth is saved, absolutely everyone celebrates and with their cell phones light up the concert while the sky remains beautiful for the scene, the band then plays the last song which is called as the title of the game GOODBYE VOLCANO HIGH is there where the titles runs and the game returns us to a screen with the score of the rhythm game and thanks us for having reached the end.

STAGE IV
PRESENTATION OF THE GAME TO THE PUBLIC

When the first trailer was presented to the general public the game at that time was at 80% or more, the truth is that moments were used in the game with the exception of some animations, although it was expected to release several more trailers and an advance in gameplay was not concrete because of the criticism about the creative decisions taken and the discovery of the things of the main scriptwriter.

Things to note is that during this period it is estimated that at least half of the original group had retired leaving many people doing things they never worked on, a blunder is that, not having the voice to lip sync, the voice recordings were postponed a lot, and then due to internal complications both by the public and the pandemic was decided to cut a lot of lines of dialogue (We will touch on that point).

To no one's surprise the public took it quite badly, not only was it neither the time nor the place, but the people in charge of the branding and the trailer did not choose the best parts to show, it should be noted that although the game was going quite well it is true that for that time it was best to show something that they truly knew would come out.

Everything we said was solid was subject to many changes among them the classification, previously the game was going to make PEG 16 being more or less the target audience. When the main scriptwriter was fired the managers changed the focus of the project to a much more general one, but limiting a lot the creativity and being the most appropriate words ARRANGING part of the game and its essence.

At this point for the reboot of the game they had to do damage control and tried to fix things with what they had, but both the time and the online mode delayed both the recordings as well as the passing of information.

STAGE V
POST PRESENTATION AND CREATIVE REBOOT

With time and life playing against him, because of all the problems that were generated many of the characters that were going to be implemented and dubbed by the team had to be not only removed, but accommodated in things where it did not hinder the experience and story. The problems lay in the fact that many of these people were in charge of art, backgrounds and programming. Many of these groups had to move from one group to another due to lack of staff and adding to the fact that Crunch was not the best and friendliest way to bring the product.

It was during the period of about a year that Snoot Game was presented to the public, and here while the team behind it already had problems in almost rewriting a script but rather working with what they had to SG condemned them.

Both for better and for worse the game presented many criticisms and parodies that were liked by the people but not for the devs behind GVH first hand they told us how the product was not only good but within the standard it was over salient within the more open minded people, the problem is that what was to be presented was not meeting the quality standards of the company but also that the launch itself brought much discord from the internal team causing some people to abandon the project leaving even more problems to the team.

STAGE VI
SECOND RESTART

To say that they worked almost as if it were a mod is perhaps an understatement, the second reboot not only brought with it a new script but many more problems than they thought, not only did they have to clean up their image but they also had to start the final game with what they had with very tight deadlines, they worked with the material of the first script and all the things done at that time, but by taking much of the material cut and not being able to use materials such as characters or dialogues due to creative differences as well as direction.

We at least believe that not only was there a lack of a final script, but that the voice and quality control director was either on other projects or was negligent with his work, although we understand what they were going through.

What happened to the people who were laid off?

To tell the truth, we don't know, but we were given to understand that some resigned on their own or were pressured to leave almost by force because of all the Crunch they were going through.

Their whereabouts are more than unknown or they refrain from talking.

What happened to the trimmed material?

Most are Lost media or left with their respective creators.

Let's move on to the next section as the second restart was very slow and there really isn't too much to highlight other than what we mentioned.

STAGE VII
FINAL GAME

The game not only came out regular, but it came out with a kind of amalgamation of the products made before, this second reboot also brought cuts for its final release, we explain:

As you may have noticed the game does not let us select some options or only shows us a couple or only one, this is because everything that opened that option or was removed because it gave rise to another line of dialogue or options, which gave problems or some characters were removed from the plans. Making it impossible to implement.

Things to highlight is that many models were really limited to the point that some are really images that move, stretch and enlarge depending on the situation, due to lack of staff and budget also cut many of the animations that were never used, so throughout the game are repeating the same gestures, although this is a resource used in graphic novels is not entirely correct to be used in this style of games.

Many of the problems present are the audio synchronization with the voices, this is due to the fact that many of the recordings were made without a voice director in charge at the time or without knowing what their characters were doing.

There were many inconsistencies in the models, in some parts you can pay attention how the models are not congruent with the character, this is because not all were made with the same creative team, you can even see that some backgrounds are of better quality than others or just that some play with shadows and lighting, or for example is that no character really has a shadow rendering in real time.

STAGE VIII
POST LAUNCH

The game did not remain just that, although once the game was released much of the team stayed, but not only were the actual reviews quite divided, but the game did not achieve the success that was expected or the audience that was targeted.

The game had a couple of drawbacks that went under the social view, such as the use of images and it seems to be the use of SG fan arts to make some scenes, this we could not check, but it does not seem far-fetched to us that it could happen.

We really have nothing more we can add to this, we regret that all the work never comes to light, but we thank all the people involved in these projects that brought more than good things to the community, we leave you with all this as a message that there are not really bad ideas but bad executions, and to take care of the first appearances and try not to talk about more.

We regret what happened to the people involved and condemn every act of harassment, manipulation and mistreatment on the part of the people involved in all projects.

As we also thank the small group of insaders for sharing the information wholeheartedly, we will not disclose further details to protect their identity and not get into legal trouble.

Greetings!

Sincerely yours. IFV TEAM

What kind of sick fuck would make such a mean spirited and depressing parody of such a beloved and uplifting franchise like snoot game? "Goodbye volcano high" more like "goodbye common decency"
in ending 4 it even parodying gvh trailer, where instead of burning yearbook, everyone signs it. You can even write nigger in it. It is indeed a parody of beloved snoot game

I AM THE SNOOT GAME "TITLE DROP"

I have no word to express how ugly each character look.
A professional artist able to make GVH art WORSE than the source material is a new low.
while a hobbyist artist can make this:
Baki hit latam just like dbz did years ago

they really made trish design work

Welp. finally finished watching the full game. I thought I'd have more to say on it, but my opinions really aren't unique to me.
NOTE: I have not played Snoot Game. (plz no bully)
Goodbye Volcano High sure is a game that exists. I don't really hate it per-se, it's just too generic to be hateable. It isn't the dumpster fire-quality writing that you can rip apart like High Guardian Spice or Velma.
Designs
The fact that GVH is set in a world full of scalies is really the only unique thing about it. Everyone's already ripped apart the designs of Fang and Trish, which are arguably the worst, especially considering how those two are the ones that you see the most. I think the main problem is the fact that the creators chose a Pteredactyl and a triceretops for their main characters, which are hard to anthromorphisize. Fang looks like a dolphin in a lot of shots. If you look at her head-on, she looks like... some fetishized version of Jeff the Killer? As for Trish, her younger sister looks a little better with the triceretops head. Probably because she has afro puffs, which draws the attention away from how strangely the head is shaped. I do really like the large diamond-shaped eyes, they're pretty.
Animation
The animation is embarrassing. While GVH technically qualifies as an "indie" project, there's no excuse for it to look this bad, especially when you consider that it had a full TEAM of 20+ leaf people, and was given a million-dollar budget by the government. They definitely had the resources and the time to at least polish this shit, but no, quality is a filthy capitalistic value! Like I said before, the animation isn't just a few errors, it's all over this game, and very noticeable as well. Lots of times characters move incorrectly, or straight up teleport. One of the earlier scenes with the Worm Drama gang in the music room, the camera is focusing on Fang with Naser and Trish in the foreground, but Naser and Trish's models are both facing the camera creepily, probably T-posing as well. Friendly reminder that the company averaged slightly more than one hour of gameplay a year.
The story is... a story. It isn't special, and I think it could have the power to be great if the writers picked a direction. I feel like it's necessary to go into how I feel about the cast before talking about the story, because characters make a story.
*Since Sage has switched in-development to being a femboy, to being a pooner, and I honestly feel like the design could lean towards being bio-male or bio-female, I'll be extra annoying and refer to Sage as a Xir for extra hateability*
Fang
Fang- er FATIMA has about as much depth as a rain puddle. Sure, she has a passion for her music, writes songs, is some goth gf, who really does care about her friends on the inside, yes please add, etc. One main problem I have with this is that you can deduce all of this from her official descriptions from KO_OP. Compared to Snoot Game, where Fang is treated more like a complex person who has home and mental health struggles to contend with, this feels rather shallow. I don't find Fatima particularly hateable, because she is capable of owning to her mistakes (a lot to ask of characters written by woke people tbh). But of course, her special snowflake identity is perfect and valid and should not be questioned UWU. Really the only reason people care about this stupid game in the first place is either because they're a fan of snoot game, or they're drooling over the nonbinary protagonist. I feel like KO_OP knew this, so she was given the most generic character arc in the 21st century. Also, the Arabic-coding feels like it came out of.. nowhere? I mean, if you asked me to design the personification of a white girl as a dinosaur, Fatima's design is probably what I would come up with. Her entire body is white asf, while her family is darker and more neutral-toned. Her original hair color is also orange, which doesn't help that.
Trish
Trish I ended up liking more than I thought? A lot of the marketing that involved her portrayed her whole personality as nothing more than what older people think Zoomers are like. She's still pretty cringe, but I did kind of like the angle where she's representing someone who is trying to balance a passion, different friend groups, and being a responsible older sibling. Most of the plot focuses on Fang and Trish's tension of being pulled two different directions. I can't really dislike either girl for acting the way they do, Fang's band is her passion, and while she wants her future of travelling around in a van and doing tours like some kind of penniless so bad, she tries to at least consider Trish's feelings and obligations. Butt I feel like a lot of these problems don't feel organic partly because of the looming threat plot that they writers just had to include for some reason. Why does Trish bother with looking into colleges and performing experiments, and preparing for an entomology career if the world is literally going to end? Besides that, I feel like she is the least pleasant of the cast to look at. Besides her weird-ass head, her outfit is boring-generic, and doesn't show a lot of personality. Her physical features don't follow the pattern of having at least 2-3 colors with her skin, hair, and eyes unlike the rest of the cast. Her whole body is just a few shades of purple, and the bland outfit doesn't help. Is it just me, or does her L&L character look like it has the intersex flag on her shirt?
Reed
Reed exists. He smokes and is the dungeon master of Legends & Lore (I just started calling it Lesbians & Losers in my head). That is all.
Rosa
Rosa has the best design. She's pretty simple, being Trish's buddy (girlfriend) on the side. She's an aspiring botanist and was basically wasted. Seriously. She has probably the best design, and her one character moment is about her being a troon. By the way, she was originally going to be a true and honest mexican wife, and you can tell that this was retconned in-game. Trish tells Fang about Rosa by describing her as "Rosa from second grade". Rosa also says that she'll never escape the nickname "Paper-mache girl" implying that she was a girl in elementary school. Anyway. Her and Fang's conversation is about how them being trannies alienates them from their traditional migrant families. The lesson is family and culture is temporary, troon is forever. She would be my favorite if it wasn't for her being a tranny tbh. She created a giant hybrid fern, slay queen.
Naomi
Naomi is the smart student council VP. Also she has a big crush on Fang because-? I feel that her and Naser were presented like they were going to act as Rivals to Fang. But of course, they don't present challenges to Fang. Naomi doesn't feel like much beyond Fang's love interest. Their character moment is just them deciding to be together. That's maybe realistic considering the circumstances, but I don't find it satisfying. I got the impression from the marketing it was implied that the couples would be Fang and Trish, Naser and Naomi, and Stella and Sage. This feels... random, like one of the staffers shipped it, and they decided to make it a thing. Naomi has this character arc of wrapping herself up in the plans that she made for her future, plans that she has to let go because of the impending doom. This is a good premise, but it was introduced and resolved very quickly. I'd rather they showed this throughout the game rather than making Naomi's character so much of a Fang simp. But alas, you can't expect good writing from troons.
Naser
I put off writing about Naser for a little bit. he is kinda hot for a dinosaur Like with Naomi, I feel that the writing implied that Naser was going to present idealogical challenges to Fang. I don't really dislike the fact that he's a good supportive older brother. His arc is... decent. They did an okay job of presenting a realistic sibling relationship. I mostly wish that the relationship Fatima and Naser have with their parents was shown more than told. The Pteredactyl parents are gone for the entirity of the game, and literally cannot return home. Fang's impatience with Naser mostly stems from the fact that Naser is the obedient child, as opposed to Fang, who is more of a free-spirit (identity politics aside). However, the game decides to mostly tell you this instead of showing it, and that's the jist of my issue with Naser, honestly with no fault of his own.
Stella/Sage
Sage + Stella don't really add much? I decided to combine their sections, because they could have been one character. Very mad that they made Sage a pooner, because I like me some feminine/manlet rep. But troons will be troons, and enforce gender roles because yay! Stella is viscerally annoying because fat + wicca + barefoot. I personally headcanon that if she were to graduate high school, she'd get roped into working for some pyramid scheme mlm, and have an OnlyFans on the side, because having to sell 49,000 candles a month isn't actually financially feasible. Stella has a tiny bit of significance because she reads tarot cards for Fang once in a while, but Sage doesn't do anything. Xe appears in the boring ass L&L roleplay as the character that's supposed to be funny, but isn't. Honestly, they could have made these two one character. Someone can be a tarot junkie and an aspiring chef at once, the weird combination adds some interest there. Voice actor wise, Sage sounds like a guy, but has the faggiest voice I've heard in my entire life, so I end up just wanting to shoot xim in the face. Stella's voice actress I actually liked the best out of the whole game, I guess because she just sounds very average. (Fang ironically sounds like a man trying to sound like a woman, Trish hits the annoying button in my head a bit much, Naomi is generic, Rosa actually sounds like a woman, but I'd prefer something different, and Reed and Naser sound too similar to me). Also, Stella is definitely fat because Sage's anorexic ass force-feeds her whatever xe makes.
Mrs. Roberts
She's doing her best to prepare her students for the real world and don't take no shit. Slay queen.
LJ
Lesbian boomer who's been attending concerts since she was a fetus. Also has a cabin in the woods. Slay queen.
Story
Probably the worst aspect of GVH is the story inconsistencies. It's like the writers couldn't decide between a story about friends changing as people and adjusting to that as they prepare for the future/balancing your passions with old and new friendships or a story about the end of the world. I really don't think you can do both, because once the fact that this asteriod was discovered, the mains can kiss their futures that they've dreamed so hard for goodbye. I mean, they touched on this a little near the end of the game, but for most of it? Fang is acting like she'll still be able to tour with Worm Drama for the rest of her life, Trish is acting like she'll be an entomologist, Rosa is actively preparing for a botany degree that she'll never get, Naomi wants to be a physician, et cetera. Reed and Stella's lack of plans for the future actually work in their favor in this case. This combination of these two plots is all very stupid. From the get go, Fang/Trish/Rosa/Naomi would all respectively be devastated that they will never get the opportunity to do what they wanted to accomplish in life. A better way to do this would be to show how all of these characters are coping with the horrible news of this impending doom. (Fun fact: there was originally going to be three stories presented in GVH, from the perspectives of Fang, Rosa, and Reed). I wish they had stuck with this instead of focusing soley on Fang. Instead, we mostly focus on Fang, who is still acting like she'll be able to live out her dreams with her band, despite the fact that she literally can't. Trish and Rosa hang out offscreen so much, it feels like something is missing. In a more realistic apocalyptic scenario, the local government would be shuttling people underground or some shit, and our characters definitely wouldn't be going to school or having fun hanging out with each other. Maybe a talented writer could combine these two plots, but GVH does not have talented writers.
Ending
The fact that there is only one ending is unsatisfying and reeks of laziness. Even hardcore fans of GVH dislike that there aren't more endings. This is terrible for a VN, especially one that costs thirty bucks. There are tons of choices to make in the game, but the only thing that it really affects is dialogue differences. The game's marketing also sort of implied that there would be different endings, because again, that's kind of a staple of VNs. There should be endings based upon how Fang treats her friends, and how well she performs at Lava Java. VNs having multiple endings also increases replayability. The only reason to replay GVH would be to see additional dialogue choices, which is a waste of time, especially because there is NO skip or save options??? Nah babe, adding one or two more endings would increase the development to ten years. Also, Fang's getup for their final concert looks like shit.
Random thoughts:
GVH honestly might have been better as a traditional dating sim. I mean, you've got the edgy goth gf, athletic autistic gf, feminine gardening gf, smart gf, cutesty baking bf/gf, DM bf, hot popular bf, and the undateable character. (Sorry Stella)
Alright, assuming some subspecies of dinosaurs in this world correlate to real human ethnicties/people groups, wouldn't there presumably be dino hybrids to represent mixed-race people? Ah well, I'm probably putting in more thought then they did.
Sage is DDLC Natsuki, but shittier.
It's probably a pain in the ass to read, and a shitty essay, but I did enjoy writing it. (I need to get a hobby)
