I have an ex who was raped in the US military by a fellow service member. When she explained to me why she never reported it, I understood. The higher-ups actively discourage such reporting and "proving" something like that is very difficult and the whole process is just re-traumatizing.

There's a reason I'm a male in this thread; most of my friends (as well as all of my exes) that I've made as an adult have been female, and it seems like nearly every single one eventually confesses she was raped, molested, or at least had it attempted. It's sad and sickening and us men do need to do something about it. Saying "Total Moid Death!" on the internet might feel good but that's not going to be happening anytime soon... maybe our new artificial intelligence overlords will enact such a thing but until then, things look pretty disheartening. I do think increasing the punishments for sex offenses is something that would be approved of by people on both the left and the right. People complain about prison overcrowding, but I don't think money spent on prisons is money wasted.

Funny story about that. The man who started the whole gay Republican/Republican gay rights platform was vulture capitalist Paul Singer. What gets me about the entire discourse is how men who want smaller government want absolute surveillance state when it comes to women's bodies. I actually wanted to use the gender pay gap as an example, but I didn't want to incite political sperging. It was the best one I can think of.
Essentially, the wage gap diminishes as age is accounted for.
For the same job, a woman up to 30 makes less than a man, around 20% or so if I recall from the analysis I did back then.
For the same job, a woman at 50 makes 99.997% salary compared to a man. Totality wise. Difference is statistically insignificant.

So the wage gap is due to:
- Maternity leave
- Age, largely correlated with experience
- Countries with garbage labour laws that allows discrimination towards pregnancy, which in turns makes it sexist discrimination towards women
This isn't because of outright sexism or whatever other shadowy forces, but rather shit companies treat workers like shit, and a pregnant mother doesn't generate as much money for those parasites.

Nope, the idea of men being more aggressive with negotiation isn't that significant of a factor. It can't even be quantified properly.
