Cops often don't care about wether someone is actually guilty any more than that slimy DA in the Rittenhouse case, they just care about closing the case.
Getting a conviction is what they care about.
Not all cops are like this of course, some genuinely want to see justice served and the guilty punished, but a frightening number just care about not having an unsolved case darkening their record.

I don't know about French Canuckville, but in Burgerland if you marry a potato like his wife who cannot fend for herself, you take on legal guardianship. You cannot simply just let a retarded person wander off into the woods. Regardless of whether they want to or not. They are your responsibility. In Burgerland if he sends her into the woods on a survivalist journey and she dies or goes missing, you're on the hook and going to jail no matter what. I can't imagine Quebec is more lenient on these laws. This guy is F-U-C-K-E-D no matter what unless she turns up fine. i have to disagree. imo, jim doesn't go after allies personal lives. he will address something they do if it is so retarded that he can't ignore. even then, it is light trolling.

What normally happens in these scenarios is that a person might be cognicient, but that doesn't mean they can fend for themselves. They might be able to live a somewhat normal life, but if left to their own devices, it'd be a disaster. They need monitoring. The sad factor is as these children enter adult years, the parents just simply aren't old enough to take care of them. So if someone comes along offering to see after their child after they're gone and no longer able to.... you're not left with much choice as a parent.
