I think my favorite Roiloup moment is the video where Tommy and his brother spent 41 minutes talking about how only they know the "true history of Comicsgate" I remember it was really weird and somewhat creepy how they were finishing each other's sentences.

I recall giving the video a chance, because it's not like I actually like CG, except they forgot to like... you know... actually talk about all the deep lore they claim to know about CG. Only that it's very important you understand know they know unspecified stuff. Part 2 wasn't much better, and I don't think they ever finished the series.

Eh. I have to disagree here. I've bought a lot of CG books and not one has failed to get to me eventually. Even the people who only appeared on a single side stream or only made a single one off book got to me. Not saying it doesn't happen but it's certainly not common. Even EVS' Cyberfrog 2 (which was very late) came with six comics and an action figure. I got all that for like $30.

One of the chronic problems with CG is their inability to adhere to release timelines. It's a huge part of the criticism you'll see.

July, whose not really branded as GC, but is more "CG adjacent," doesn't seem to have that problem. He's a bit closer to Iconic Comics than CG is. If memory serves, the first ISOM was a only month late at a time when it's not uncommon for CG creators to be late by years.

In one respect, Dick going after July is him going after one of the more competent independent comics creators. That seems weird at first, however, I think he specifically targeted July because he's also one of the more successful ones and it would draw the most heat.

His new audience appears to consist of I guess the bottom 20% of his audience from a year ago in terms of intelligence and I guess the dregs that come in from his dumb Twitter arguments and being on the front page of Rumble all the time. These are Ralph numbers in terms of super chats, but Ralph doesn't have access to YT to stream on and has a vastly smaller audience on Rumble. As I've said before, I have no real interest in any of this. The only YouTuber trying to hustle comics I've been familiar with in the past was ThatUmbrellaGuy who seemed to be selling a comic that featured his kid? It seemed like the least desirable idea for a comic that I could possibly imagine, and TUG seemed to have no artistic talent or storytelling ability. He also had a bit of a moronic fan base who were sending him money for his vanity project. Yet while it seemed like the worst possible comic imaginable, I can't begin to imagine why anyone would be butthurt about it -- or even care. You think his idea/comic is shit? Don't send him money. It's the easiest thing in the world.

The idea that someone could put in the time and effort to do a 15 minute puppet show explaining why Eric July is a loser and his comic book is junk is just utterly mystifying to me. If you were naturally funny, and you could make a genuinely hilarious video about the subject, perhaps it'd be something worth doing, but this guy's puppet video is at least as bad as he claims Eric July's comics are. Him claiming July has no talent is just the pot calling the kettle black.

Is it all just sour grapes because July raised a shedload of money and these people can't cut it? Are they just jealous?
