He's not retarded, but a PhD is no indicator of real life intelligence, and his emotional intelligence and that disordered and out of touch thinking noted by that psychiatrist is on full display.
The biggest retards I've ever met were all men with high IQs who had massive ego investment in being the smartest guy in the room. I used to encounter them a lot in atheist circles, and all of the Objectivists I've met were that type. Go onto forums for Myers-Briggs personality type INTJ, and that's at least half the guys there.
They may be brilliant in certain areas, but certainly not in all of them, and failure to recognize the boundaries of their own brilliance constantly bites them in the ass. Even if they have advanced degrees, they inevitably end up working well below their stated level of proficiency because they can't get along with other people and fail to accept and learn from their mistakes.
If you're a genius, humility is an important personal quality to have. It's the quality that will keep you from thinking that you're so smart, you don't need to listen to anybody else, or consider things from their point of view. It's the thing that makes you consider the possibility that somebody smarter is going to come along and smash your pet theory to smithereens, or drive a truck through the gaping holes in your story that your biases have blinded you to. And it's knowing where, frankly, you're just plain dumb, and need to rely on others' expertise—including people who might not be classed as "smart."
JFG is so convinced of his intellectual superiority over "normies," and so conspicuously lacking in any humility regarding it, that it didn't even occur to him that he needed to sit down and work out a coherent, believable story to explain his common-law wife's total disappearance. He's a brilliant mind, so of course this story he's concocted should be good enough, and anybody who might question it is just a stupid, low-information hater.
Too bad for him the RCMP doesn't see it that way.
I know this is the farms, everything is here forever and shit, but if the guy turns out innocent and mama JF just reappears Null please delete all of my posts in this thread or i might legit kms out of embarrasment
edit: would also feel kinda bad about the frenchie i suppose
In the unlikely event Élora turns up alive and well, I'm okay with being wrong, and there being a permanent record of it. Because so far, all of the available evidence points to my being right in believing JFG killed her It's not an unreasonable conclusion, not when he's doing and saying everything the typical wife-killer does.
If new evidence comes to light that makes a plausible case for his
not killing her, I'll revise my opinion. But until then, I'm convinced he did it.
