It would make sense if the true behind-the-scenes support for this attack came from Russia and China because it strikes at some of the weakest points in Western societies and also ensures that the West will now dedicate the greater part of its war capability to defending Israel. The audacity of the attack may have been due to assurances from these powers that they would back up Hamas. Too bad for Ukraine, and perhaps soon Taiwan. I think that this war is a clear indicator that humanity has stagnated.

Not enough of humanity is pursuing new frontiers, such as ocean exploration (I'm not memeing), or space exploration. As a result, we are overbreeding and cramming ourselves too close together all over, and we're just killing each other.

They frame it as the oppressed have every right to fight against the oppressor no matter the cost.

Are the Palestine people really that oppressed enough that killing civilians is justified? I hear so many contradictions that I can't tell anymore. Are Palestines living in an open-air prison that is constantly bombed to the point of genocide? Or is their population continuously growing while Israel offers unbiased citizenship to Arabs and Jews alike while allowing Gaza and West bank to self govern? Is Israel a terrorist colonial state that preys upon helpless populace or is it a progressive democracy that is fighting to survive among populace theocracies? Is Palestine a recently conquered long established ethno-state fighting for its survival or is it a loosely understood set of people who just hate Jews?

I don't fucking know any more than I did a decade ago and the people who do probably do want to bomb each others families and slit each others throats before even considering peace.
