I doubt that they charged him. The incident report on this and the arrest is usually a warning not to do it again. It also serves as a record in case he does it again to come down on him with real charges. Hopefully they went all the way and also towed his car.

This is absolutely what would be expected to happen if July had security and the rest. The police over-response is part of your paying for when you pay for the right kind of security.

So, Nick's view of marriage is that he disagrees with everyone (the state, church, other people of varying sexual orientation) on non-descript points, the state shouldn't have anything to do with marriage, and the spouses should give each other 100% and be vulnerable to the point of ruination within 5 minutes (though he doesn't explain why this is a good/healthy thing). This position would necessitate clarification on how divorce should be handled, though Nick would likely just say "but I don't want anyone to get divorced, I just want people to be happy".

Nick also doesn't actually give a definition of marriage here. He disagrees with gay/Christian/athiest marriage, but since he doesn't agree with having the state involved and doesn't bring up morality or God, it sounds like he just doesn't agree with the concept of marriage at all. This is where he and Drexel would actually agree.

Since Nick doesn't make any concrete points beyond the necessity of vulnerability (which he seems to see as a virtue in itself), this is just Nick claiming to be principled because, allegedly, no one agrees with him while also trying not to offend anyone. He then goes on to insist July had no legal recourse, that's he's fake nigger who's in over his head and knows nothing, when in fact Riley, who seems to be a known freak with subatomic brain matter, committed a third-degree felony as far as the cops were concerned and got arrested.
