The White House during the Obama administration literally got the Vlogbrothers and a decent variety of YouTubers including everyone on Epic Rap Battles of History. If the Biden administration wanted a safe, moderate influencer with a large young base, you really can't get any better than the Vlogbrothers.Yes, it was. The White House has invited influencers before, but most of them are literally whos. There are only so many lefty political influencers with sizable followings, and the four of them have demonstrated that:
- They will do political grunt work like activism, rallies, and canvasing.
- They will set aside personal values and tow the party line for the sake of the party.
- The four of them are trying to make a proactive political streaming group to aid the Dems.
LegalEagle, Phillip DeFranco, Brian Tyler Cohen; there were literally dozens of larger influencers less problematic than those 4, and they'd do all the things you wrote in those bullet points.
Even if it had to be political leftist streamers, a stupidly narrow niche, Keffals is such a baffling left field pick; catboy fucker isn't even American with less clout than Sneako. Vaush and Destiny despise one another, and Hasan's now a blatant tankie.
I'd have taken Blaire White over Keffals for a trans rep. I'd taken Ethan Klein over Hasan. Even getting xQc is a better pick than Vaush, and xQc is a gibbering moron.
It obviously fell through, anyway, but what an embarassing invitation decision.
