I've heard it called "shock" before. I had to look it up but you can loose consciousness from pain alone. It's a circulatory reflex called Reflex Syncope. "Shock" in the proper medical contexts usually requires some injury. If there is significant blood loss it can be Hypovolemic Shock. Or if there's damage to the CNS it may be Neurogenic Shock. In all cases, insufficient blood to the brain causes diminished consciousness or unconsciousness.
