Shoplifting Tumblrinas

It's not just the merch going missing that causes problems. I'm on night crew at a big grocery store, and shit getting stolen causes us to rack up a lot of overtime. If we find a half-eaten bag of chips or something on the shelf, we have to clean it up. A lot of people forget shit they stashed and it makes a mess later on--especially perishables. Someone stashed an open bottle of tequila behind a shelf of diapers, and it got all over the floor. One of my coworkers found a whole steak hidden behind some cereal, just leaking juice onto the floor.

And if a shoplifter gets caught, there's a pile of forms to fill out, plus a third party has to be present for the whole thing to deter possible accusations of mistreatment. We lose a lot of man-hours that way.

So yes, Tumblr, shoplifting hurts the employees. If we're kept way late because we were cleaning up after you, our home life suffers. All of us fall into the financial category my assistant manager calls "working poor," and several crew members have kids to take care of. You want to do your grocery shopping for the week? Pay, like the rest of humanity.

Sorry if I powerleveled or a-logged. This shit makes me angry.

I've seen lists of A LOT of stolen things, like clothes, alcoholic drinks, candy, makeup.... How do they fit them into anything? It's too much to fit into a purse, besides, don't they check purses before the client leaves? They do that here. And that's way too much to fit into a pocket.

I assume they scratch off the RFID, or Barcode. Still, if any of these stupid twats steal a cell phone they will be in for a rude awakening trying to get it to work.

What interests me is most of them are girls, and I have to wonder why?
It is usually girls -- and we'll leave the discussion "biologically determined behaviour" vs. "result of socialization" to others, we have better stuff to do -- who hang out at shopping malls or go on shopping sprees, oftentimes for clothes, jewellery or cosmetics. This theft-as-a-hobby thing is basically a shopping trip without paying.

Not about the lifting community, but this reminds me a lot of Fox News' coverage of 4chan.

Anyway, apparently somebody "stole" live lobsters.

I fail to understand how they don't get caught. All of that is pretty obvious when they're carrying it, especially live lobsters. Why would they even steal that?

Well, judging from my own work place, if the place is busy enough and you are generally nonchalant about it all, you can get away with shoplifting. This can only work in larger stores like Walmart where it's easy to steal things if it's during the holiday shopping sprees. It's easier to steal food/smaller items so how these bitches steal all this larger shit like bras or whatever is beyond me. But it all depends on how just chill you can be and how well your deception is. It's buttfuckingly easy to shoplift from a walmart than say...a little mom and pop thrift store.

A lot of people do it for the rush of possibly getting caught. I have first hand experience with that because I used to maybe..lift some stuff from people... >_>
It's a rush of that one chemical called adrenaline or something when you lift because there's a high chance of getting caught or getting busted and getting fucked up or in serious trouble. It's also because these bitches are privileged and what better way to show off that "I've never been disciplined and my parents are middle/upper middle class" privilege than stealing shit you could possibly buy yourself? these people don't care about who they hurt; it's all about what I want and fuck everyone else who says otherwise.

Bras are pretty easy to steal, actually. Stores don't usually sensor them and a lot of places don't (or can't) keep track of what people take in the fitting rooms.
I think Walmart has started to do that now with the weird little clothing tags but I could be mistaken.
