RekietaLaw | Just saying be cautious.I'm fucking cautious about this shit because people tried to make me a conservative Christian streamer...but I'm not. |
RekietaLaw | I'm a libertarian faggot who HAPPENS to be Christian and is personally kinda conservativeBut I'm not trying to sell people that. It wouldn't be honest |
RekietaLaw | My takes aren't always conservative...they're ALWAYS honest...even to my detriment. |
Nick is honest that he's not a conservative Christian and he's a "libertarian faggot" (his words), but he's
dishonest by persisting in the claim he never portrayed himself as a conservative Christian. It's not just me, or even a handful of people, that saw it. LOTS of people saw it. Probably everybody, or nearly everybody, involved in Weeb Wars, in fact. Even if you wanna argue there was a bit of a libertarian streak mixed in.
If Nick said "look, I can't lie anymore,
this is who I really am" he'd be right on the money. Hell, I might even regain a tiny amount of respect for him. It would be a rare display of honesty from him.
But in order to do that, he'd have to admit he was dishonest with people for
years. Instead, he wants to continue to gaslight. To advance the notion that most people that followed him in the past are suffering from some sort of mass hallucination. Not just about this, but many other things. Including what he said about Monty. As long as he continues to do things like that, I have nothing but contempt for him.
Destiny is by far a bigger draw. You'd think they'd be trying to court his audience since they are about 5 times bigger than whatever interest there is in the Eric July trolling.
Well they
sorta are in the sense that they are running an anti-anti-woke grift. Destiny is a breadtuber. Similar alignment politically, I guess. They seem to think that aggravating July is a good grift in the culture war, but I think you're right that they're grossly overestimating how many people give a shit. Alt-comics is a niche topic. Destiny is successful because he focuses on more mainstream things. Like that drama over Anna Kasparian that happened a while back. Or politics in general.
The problem with going after Destiny's audience specifically is what
@The Yellow Dart just said. Karson is a bit of an elephant in the room.
Destiny seemed like he was going to walk off the last time he was on and realized just how close Chris Gesualdi was to Max Karson.
Speaking of walking out, it's also perhaps noteworthy that Destiny was going in on JF Gay Rapey for walking out on an interview, but Dick kissed his ass and criticized the interviewer. Destiny seems to be in the "JF mashed the potato" camp.
I don't think they're ever gonna be close allies. In fact, I see
WAY more agreement between Null and Destiny than I see between Dick and Destiny. That might seem weird because Null and Destiny are probably diametrically opposed politically, but here were are. Dick helps bring about such situations because he's such an insufferable ass regardless of the politics.
EDIT: Typos.
