Games that were released around that time that still have regular updates keep running into this issue.
It's been brought up before in this thread (by me) but the Sims 4 updated with pronouns etc recently; since trans/non binary weren't built into the original game, Sims are all sex essentiallist. Sims are all basically bisexual by default (although not autonomously so, they're basically default straight unless told to do something gay, and doing it enough makes them autonomously bisexual) but you can make them specifically gay/straight and disinterested in experimenting... basically you have to go out of your way to make a straight male sim who's not interested in even considering men (or a lesbian sim who's not interested in men) but if you do, making a she/her male sim with female clothes and female hair will mean they get rejected for being a man.
Predictably this still has caused seething although you basically have to spend a tonne of effort to make a transphobic situation happen. They have yet to code in the sim having a nervous breakdown over being misgendered, though.

Happened to a few of my older aunties who'd basically only ever worn high heels as soon as they became adults. It shortens the achilles tendons in the back of the foot, so walking flat-footed causes aches. My other side (Elly) "merged" with me some time back (we share our consciousness proper now by default, which was quite a feat!), though she does sometimes split off to give some interesting insights that I otherwise would miss. There is a common belief held even by some transgender people that sex is immutable and can't ever be changed. After reading a lot about this subject, I came to the conclusion that this belief is not true.
To start, there are multiple sex determinations, and none of them includes 100% of the population. All biology tries to do with these definitions is to describe what is typical to the majority of the population, but there are always exceptions. When using the chromosomes definition, intersex people are excluded, as there are XX people who are born with male primary sex characteristics and XY people who are born with female primary sex characteristics, besides other genetic variants. Other sex determinants are the predominant sex hormones and reproductive system/gametes. These can also exclude cisgender people such as infertile people who don't produce gametes, and people with conditions that make their predominant sex hormones be the same of the opposite sex. Last but not least, it comes the sex organ, which is the primary characteristic observed at birth to determine a newborn's sex.
Currently, people can change at least 2 of these characteristics through medical interventions (the sex organ and the sex hormones), and as medicine evolves, other characteristics can eventually be changed as well. The way I see it, that is effectively the same as changing a person's sex.
I needed to share this because I see many people claiming that sex can't ever be changed, and I do not agree with this anymore. Sex is determined by multiple characteristics, and none of these characteristics are universal. A person who was assigned male at birth can be considered to have the female sex if they have female characteristics, and the same goes for people who were born with the female sex but eventually acquire male characteristics, and this should be more widely recognized.

I know they like to talk about the "everyone starts out a girl as an embryo!!!" do they think that it develops without sex chromosomes and one day it just randomly chooses a sex? Sex is a construct, used to describe commonalities in an easily understood form. Even within the non-intersex population, there's lots of variations of what we call "sex attributes". So yes, I do feel that sex is far from immutable.
Being intersex is caused by your sex chromosomes. You'd think chimera boy would know this, but he also is really for the whole "PCOS is intersex!!!" thing so I don't know what I was expecting.

"Basic biology" recognizes that sex is not hard-locked to one type of chromosome setup as there are chromosome configurations in other species that work entirely differently from humans! Did you know that many birds have a chromosomally opposite equivalent to us? Their doubled chromosome pair results in male offspring, while the differentiated pair results in female offspring.
