I used to lean between Palestine and Israel but at this point after reading the war crimes and atrocities committed by both IDF and Hamas, I support neither Israel or Palestine. Israel is anything but a saint and Palestine isn't a helpless victim. I just feel bad for the innocent civilians who get dragged into this mess.
The far-right rhetoric from Netanyahu's government is vile and ironic, considering that Israel was supposed to be a haven for Jews from rampant antisemitism in other parts of the world. The ethnic cleansing of Palestinians is a tragedy and the Israeli government behaviour is appalling. The language used towards innocent Palestine is dehumanising and abhorrent. I see the purpose of having a Jewish state with the current antisemitism in the Middle East and past pogroms in Europe, but the process in which Israel was founded was messed up.
On the other hand, most Palestinians do not reciprocate leftists' sympathy towards them, especially if they're gay, women, etc.
Instead of rebuilding and improving their land, Palestinians prefer to wallow in hatred. Their Islamist society by and large hates the west and Hamas misappropriates aid funds to attack Israel. Many Palestinian militants are responsible for terror attacks abroad as well. Palestine also has a terrible human rights record to add insult to injury.
As you can see, most of the Palestinians are not appreciative of "Queers for Palestine".
And countries like Ireland should just stay out of the whole Israel Palestine dispute and not take sides. A situation like the Good Friday Agreement will probably never happen between Israel and Palestine.
