2023 Israel-Palestine Armed Conflict

IDF says Hamas placing roadblocks in the Gaza Strip, preventing Palestinians from evacuating south, following the military's warnings that it will target the northern part of the Gaza Strip.

German media reports that the Bundeswehr is sending two A400M military cargo planes to Tel Aviv to evacuate German citizens. At least another flight is planned for Sunday. This comes after the Lufthansa special flights were cancelled yesterday evening for "security reasons".
Edit: Two photos from the first two flights

Looks like more footage from October 7th. I didn't see it here. (rate me late if it was)

All I could think of when he went down. Reminder to crouch and zag when running from gunfire. When people shoot, they generally shoot high.

Anyway, Gideon Sa'ar, who is I believe an observer in the new limited security cabinet, has gone on the record to say that Israel should exact a permanent territorial price from Gaza for this:
I've been trying to think of what Israel's endgame can be. Making 2 Million people just vanish is something China or the USSR could do, but given Israel doesn't have that option. I'm thinking the only choice they have is to push the population into the south, build a massive wall with a 500m DMZ all the way around and shoot anybody that approaches the wire. Like the Kowloon walled city, but so much worse; then allow the Palestinians to peacefully leave for Europe and the US a little bit at a time. It sounds like science fiction, but what endgame can they be looking forward to. Sell it to China, some assembly required?

Another depressing thing to think about, 65% of the Gazans are under the age of 24 with the average age being 18. They are not old enough to remember the 2006 election or a time before Hamas took total control. This will be the defining moment in their lives, this entire generation of young people that will make up the next generation of terrorists. I think that was Hamas's real plan, prevent peace or any future for the next generation except endless meaningless violence.

I’ll be sure of this if the incoming ground invasion happens: right now people are still horrified by the actions of Hamas, but when we look back in history years from now, Israel is going look optically abysmal, sort of like the Iraq War.
No, if anything it'll look similarly to the Civil War with William Sherman total war tactics.
