Hit by Youtube's AdBlocker detection. Help needed.

Now that I've had some time to actually think about what's going on, I've figured out why this whole situation pisses me off so much.

I get that you have to pay for streaming services. The streamer has to pay the appropriate license fee to the rights holder, or if it's a platform original people have to get paid for their work (Granted, most writers and actors in Hollywood these days don't deserve to be paid for the hackjobs they do these days, but that's besides the point.). Passing those costs on to the consumer whether through a subscription fee or scheduled advertising makes sense - no one's going to pay for the show out of the goodness of their hearts.

What pisses me off about the situation isn't so much Google thinks ad blocking is evil (although that's part of it), it's that unless you're someone with pull like PewDiePie or Linus Tech Tips, the creators trying to make this their job or even as a little side hustle get absolutely shafted. With the content rules changing all the damn time, the DMCA system being so easy to abuse, no sense of fair use, and (again, unless you're someone huge like Pewds) zero access to anyone on Team YouTube, it is incredibly easy to get your video demonetized, your entire channel banned from AdSense, or even just straight up having your channel terminated.

And we all know that not a single penny of that $15 YouTube Premium cost is going to the creators - or if anything is, it's almost imperceptible how much it changes a creator's earnings. It's all going straight to Alphabet's bottom line so they can continue fucking up the Internet for everyone else like they've been doing for the past, oh, decade?

Fuck this noise. I'm going to read that big pile of books in the corner I've been meaning to and go get a nice radio to listen to. At least we still have some decent FM stations around here.

Also - It makes me irrationally annoyed that the adblock nag says that I must put YouTube on my "allowlist." I know Google's a soy-filled woke company and all and that "whitelist" is an evil Nazi alt-right white supremacist dogwhistle, but it still greatly annoys me.

For anyone using firefox and doubling up using both ublock origin and adnauseum i found that disabling adnauseum works, though I do often have to purge and update on ublock origin. But yeah, Freetube is looking like the way to go although it sucks that it doesn't seem to let you do multiple tabs or directly import playlists yet.

If you're a MacOS fag like me there's a desktop app called Clicker for Jewtube that blocks ads and has other cool features. I do get the "stop using AdBlock, you nigger" warnings but I just refresh and it goes away.

Does this support video resolution above 1080? Ive been playing about with Freetube and lack of support for >1080 video is a real dealbreaker.

edit-

I assume the loicence is single device?

When I'm watching at the computer, I just use mpv with this script mpv_sponsorblock_minimal. Edit line 16 to add the categories you want to skip, example:
categories = '"sponsor","intro","outro","interaction","preview"',
I have noticed that I'm getting random http 429 Too Many Requests errors at random when waiting on videos to start. Changing the VPN exit to another server fixes this immediately.

Started using FreeTube since someone here mentioned it, thanks! I get the feeling YT will clamp down on the API access it's using to do it's thing, though. Ah well, can use it until that happens, at least.
Having a single page that shows all my subscriptions and their latest videos in release order, all buched up together, is fucking great. How sad that this kind of basic UI capability is something you can't get from Youtube itself.

Yes, I've seen it up to 2160 4k.

Yes, loicence is a single device.

IMPORTANT: The app hasn't been updated in a long time and I've filled out a lot of bug reports to no avail. The app fundamentally works but there are glitches that can be persistent so keep that in mind before buying.

Got hit with this for the first time on Brave today on a throwaway account after using Brave for Youtube for a few days. The ads are obnoxious, but I would say I only get ads one out of every four videos. The absolute worst is when an ad pops up unexpectedly in the middle of a video. This is horrendous, and Google is a big enough company/monopoly that they shouldn't have to worry about adblockers to coerce people into buying premium. But no, we gotta squeeze every last penny out of our users.

Me too fellow feline kiwi. I clicked the x every time and didn't get any ads. But I assume if I watch enough videos I will. My friend told me to use Firefox and ublock origin.
