Sony hate thread

Oh, now I found some more info. It was only available in the UK at a chain called "Richer Sounds" and it cost £200 which isn't bad at all. Except it was 2010 so it was pretty bad, used PS2s were cheaper than McDonalds back then.
That is true, but this still cool in and of itself. If I was a playstation connoisseur ( what lame fuck that must be ) I could see this being dope.

It would be a neat thing to have but the reason I remember it existing was a vague memory of it being stupid. Sony had pushed FullHD (1080p) and PS3 so hard that the product(not-fullHD and PS2) didn't make sense at the time.

I swear they also showed off a Toshiba concept TV with a built-in PS3 at some point, probably before the release of the PS3 itself.

That would sound about right. At that time I Remember a P.C with a build in xbox360 or PS3 was on the market also.

We just want ports of the infinitesimal smattering of exclusives left so we can finally let loose and go Total PlayStation Death.

A little over a year ago, I looked up market caps for assorted companies, and Bandai Namco was one of the more expensive ones:

Bandai Namco now being $13.37b is... quite a chunk of money lost, though I guess that's the times we're living in. That being said, they're much more valuable than most of their contemporaries, and I sincerely doubt Sony would buy Bandai Namco before they'd buy Square Enix.
How's the yen doing these days, I assume they are listed on the Nikkei?

Hell, I was shocked when TLoU was new that it was getting so much ground, considering it's 2014 and this is a zombie game, and zombie media had been disgustingly oversaturated at that point.

And here we are a decade later, talking about this stupid terrible on-rails movie game. Man, I wish it'd go away.
TLoU was hardly original even for the time, so much to the point where the premise was done a few months prior in an Adventure Time episode.
> Plot takes place in a post-apocalypse setting of run down city and countryside.
> Characters involve an older male caretaker and his feisty adopted daughter who has some level of immunity.
> Forced to run and hide from a swarm of mutants trying to kill them.

I believe it was the same plot as the Telltale Walking Dead as well.

That entire thread is retarded. Just because Bandai has a good relationship with Sony doesn't mean they are going to buy it.
Indeed, and we saw how that other good relationship Sony had with SquareEnix lead to.

It's because TLoU is everything but a zombie game. Did the sequel even had zombies in it or was it just "humanity bad"?

You wanna know what grinds my gears? Sony had the chance to release a PS Vita 2 and that would ignite a handheld revival. BUT NO, KikeSony took a Switch screen, cut a PS5 controller in half, made it wifi-dependent, have no exclusives, mirror ONLY PS5 games and priced it at $200?! Why didn't KikeSony realize that the Vita's downfall was due to it's retail price of $200, plus buying a high-capacity memory card was what deterred gamers from it in the first few years? I know some of you guys will declare that mobile gaming has dominated the handheld market, but I want to see handheld gaming progress, not stagnate into gacha/lootbox games. In the meantime, I'll continue playing and modding my Vita. You lost my wallet, Sony.

In the current year of our Lord, why hasn't KikeSony realized that gamers like backwards compatibility? New buyers would be introduced to generations of games they missed out without buying another console. As for me, my PS3 died in 2021 and I have a WHOLE library of games I want to replay. Since Sony are a bunch of retards, I have to choose either buying between a used PS3 with PS2 backwards comp, go for the PS5 slim or hope and pray the PS6 will be backwards comp. in 2028(allegedly). Sony, you just won the retard award in gaming. BRB, will consider getting a Switch 2.

Not great

I'm all for shitting on Sony when they deserve it, but if this thread is just going to devolve into a bunch of PeeCee faggots whining about what games they can't play, then make a separate fucking thread.
That's it, chimpout more PC users.

1) You whine and cry when you don't get something you want.

2) You act like you are entitled to every game because "pee cee is the superior platform" and sit there and shout "gib me dem games"

3) You chimp out every time PC games are released on console and demand your market be segregated.

4) You chimp out every time a console game doesn't get released on PC.

You are, literally, the niggers of gaming. You sure fucking act like them.

I wouldn't be surprised if your fire alarm chirps while you're playing games or that you eat bowls of corn starch while playing games.

Bullshit.

PC gamers complain about games getting designed for consoles all the time because it "dumbs down" or "gimps" the pc version.
Has been a non factor for a decade since nobody bothers porting the grand strategy games that would need dumbing down to console anymore. And at least in my case I default to controller outside of fps, strategy and other very specific games.

Also, surprise, modern consoles are just very shitty pcs. If you are going to buy a game day 1 and it isn't going to work properly anyway, invest some more cash and get a PC. Just for the potential of mods and sailing the high seas it pays for itself. Steam deck is a steal if you need mobility and don't need to play in 4k graphsmax.

The appeal of a console is the plug it and play it and I swear that is getting worse each generation.

This seems kind of retarded. Bandai is a fairly large company, would they buy just the games division? Financially does Sony even have the money if they went to buy Bandai? I only care because I dont want Sony getting its hands on Gundam.

Watch Nintendo buy out Bandai Namco instead. I'd want it to happen just for the massive chimp outs that would erupt.

The value of the yen currency is low enough to the point I can obtain japanese download codes of Nintendo games at nearly half the MSRP price it would cost me in my country otherwise. And I've been heavily relying on the japanese Eshop for indies and other JP games on Switch through pre-paid cards. Even getting mangas and books in moonrunes is a lot cheaper than bothering with translated products.

Which is also why importing a PS5 from Japan in the spite of the price hikes has been certainly cheap, even more so if you can avoid taxes. Thus explaining the large disparity between the sales of hardware units and game softwares there in the past three years. And soon enough the Japanese will have to fork out the rough equivalent of 600~670 bucks (from their own POV) for the PS5 Slim model once it becomes the default model

The guy going about SIE acquiring Bandai Namco is downright delusional though, Bandai itself is ridiculously huge.

I’d make a joke about Pac-Man Vs. 2, but Nintendo and Pac-Man already collaborate so much I don’t think anything would change.
The ironic thing is that Nintendo doesn't have to buy third parties. They come to them because the platforms are so successful comparatively, even MS.

You're right, but Sony (unfortunately) basically owns anime distribution (at least for streaming) in the West. They might not buy them, but I could see them making a deal - games exclusivity for anime access.
