Cartoon Industry thread - Showcasing the Spergery of the Animation Industry

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
"It's not a genre! A Western is a genre! Animation is an art form, and it can do any genre. You know, it can do a detective film, a cowboy film, a horror film, an R-rated film or a kids' fairy tale. But it doesn't do one thing. And, next time I hear, 'What's it like working in the animation genre?' I'm going to punch that person!"
Actually the quote I had in mind when I wrote that comment, but I also watch a lot of anime (a fact that I am properly ashamed over) and even within the most casual of casual anime fan circles they'll still talk about genre of anime. I just don't get where that particular mental block comes from on animation as a whole. I'd guess it's the awards ceremonies always separating animated stuff into it's own categories but who even watches those things anymore?

Lol, I can't believe I am agreeing with Tara Strong! Fuck Charlie G and his little gang of faggots, Tara was the reason your edgy Cal-arts show even got funded.
No shit that she would support Israel as a Jew with family over there. Charlie G is gonna be making a lot more Instagram comics about unemployment in the animation industry in the near future.

Why do so many people not understand the level of extra scrutiny public figures are receiving? I see it every time over and over again.

- I will spread my name to everyone to get funding for and make a cool project
- lots of different people are watching me but I don’t need a pr guy I’m still hip and cool and use twitter
- has all the tact of a pajeet in a woman’s dms

Possibly because when animation started come into its own back in the late 1920s it was largely a rather niche thing about funny animals and kiddie stuff, which it has never been able to shake off.

Show me the tweets from Charlie/the official Boxtown Twitter that showed he also showed concern for the safety of Israelis. Seems like he was more concerned about Islamophobia than anything else.
Ding ding ding ding, we have a wiener!

Before he went on lockdown mode, he didn't mention anything about the attacks. Which is fair enough, people shouldn't have to make comments or chose sides when shit is going down halfway across the world. To Charlie G(ay)'s credit, a lot of his twitter was about promoting Boxtown and his work, which is a far cry compared to his contemporaries. But if he was worried about how bad it would look for Tara liking 'Islamophobic' tweets and putting his show in jeopardy, he should have talked to her about it, not just get rid of her without her knowing until the tweet. That's extremely unprofessional and people will think twice about working with someone like that.

Do you think after being bitten by the Cancel Culture Golem she helped create, Tara might have learnt something?

The Boxtown team is a diverse team of all stripes. That is why we immediately cut out any wrongthink or any opinions that aren't the correct one (mine).

Now they should replace Orphan Bill's voice actor with a Hamas militant. Hopefully his opinions on their diverse gang of animators will be correct.
Je suis Charlie Hebdo round 2?

>DM's random people talking about his mental health and addiction.
Christ, that is not how you sell yourself. I would not trust a dude who leads with that because they got way too much baggage. This whole thing blew up more than I thought though for what I thought was a small indie project. I didn't realize it got an article on the NY Post, that's kinda crazy.

"My journey with addiction and mental health" and in the trash it goes. Dude's admitting the murderous shota is pretty much himself if he felt he could've gotten away with murder. Legit psychopath, and I hope he's circling the drain over this. I don't want him taking down someone else with him, though, he needs to do a flip solo.
