Was looking through the archives of Vito's old website to find examples of his own original artwork and I remembered he was credited as the sole artist on some Star Realms card games, including the original base game:

This is pretty good artwork if you ignore the card frame bullshit laid over the artwork, which is why I didn't mention any of it in my original deep dives. However, if he could create this great art on his own a decade ago, why can he barely draw a comic book panel? His own website listed that he made this artwork himself in multiple locations of his website:

Ahh, according to his resume, he designed the cards. Simple as. Except if you go the page in his gallery for his Star Realms art, it's clear what's really happening:

He appears to have done everything except the elaborate artwork on those cards, but claimed the sole artist credit anyways. Could he really have designed some red/blue/green/yellow symbols, put them over someone else's artwork, and taken credit? This bothered me so I found how their original website framed his involvement from the beginning:

@The Yellow Dart I can't reply to or quote your post for some reason, but Vito lists himself as a "Graphic Designer" in that screenshot and says that he made things like the iconography, card overlays, etc in that post.

Because of this, I think he is saying he didn't create the illustrations (otherwise he could just show the illustrations without the graphic overlays in his portfolio), but instead created the visual language system for the UI, icons, cards, and web site. His role sounds like a brand manager/art director and they typically aren't involved in actually creating the illustrations. They might give feedback, but that's it. Which is funny because the card illustrations are actually nice, but the elements Vito actually had a hand in creating kinda blow and are generic (like the graphic elements on the cards and the icons).

Agreed. That's what I ultimately gleaned too. Unless you pull up years old archives of his website and Star Realms website, it comes across that he did those illustrations. Even websites at the time of the game's original release were only citing a "Vito Gesualdi" as the artist on the project. I couldn't find indication of who actually drew the illustrations either.

Learning he was responsible for the graphics design makes more sense because it's terrible I could knock up something similar in a few hours and I have no design background.

Sorry for the doublepost, but the latest Biggest Pedophile in the Universe dropped yesterday and we got an update on Vito's weight loss journey. As last reported back in the beginning of September, Vito had already lost 15 lbs; that's splendid! With two more months passed since then, where's he at?



He's down 10 lbs! You might be thinking "damn, he's lost a total of 25 lbs, maybe he's going to keep this up and thin down." And that's where you're dead wrong, because he hasn't lost 25 lbs, he's only lost 10 lbs! That's right, in two months Vito has gained back 5 lbs of the 15 lbs he'd lost. Confused?
