Bringing actual new stuff for those unaware Disney has started to get into the crack TCG business. Naturally there's a long list of article about it but this one from The Gamer caught my eye.
>Lorcana
Ah, I had a feeling it'd be something like that, it's a shame she's complaining about one character being "caught up" by another (even though Lorcana's Elsa-centric control decks are annoying as balls) over the sheer hair-pulling difficulty you'll experience trying to find any sort Lorcana products at MSRP. Seriously, that shit gets gobbled up by scalpers as soon as it hits the store shelfs (if not sooner, there are horror stories involving supplies getting jumped while they're stocking shelves).

Martin Scorsese still living rent free in the heads of MCUFAGS.
Movies mean different things to different people. People focus on Scorsese’s remarks as an attack on superhero movies, but it’s more of an attack on the business that generates them. He sees a manufactured, packaged, mass-produced product, focus tested and factory-fresh. Grown in a test tube laboratory to do one thing, and one thing alone: make money. Scorsese wants more movies made by people who are making movies for personal reasons. Marvel, Disney, Warner Brothers – these studios come up with the idea first, and then find somebody to write the script, direct the movie, and fill it with actors after the fact.

I mean, Disney was openly talking about this just a few weeks ago, that they were pitching an animated Tron movie to directors hoping somebody would make it for them.

^Directors should be pitching movies to Disney, not the other way around!

The Disney brand used to be this ultimate seal of quality! Everybody wanted to work for them! If they’re having to headhunt for random directors, that says a lot about the state of things and how roles have changed. After all, why wait for a billion dollar franchise to fall into your lap by accident when you can just look at marketing analytics and cash in on popular trends? Promise a big enough paycheck and you’re bound to hook someone eventually, even if, deep down, they do not actually care for your ideas. But money is money. They can always fix it in post with CGI.

Scorsese makes movies because he wants to tell that particular story. He wants it to stand as a piece of his artwork. Think of it as if he’s a sculptor, hand-making something out of stone and clay. A Marvel movie or a Space Jam 2 or whatever is put together on an assembly line. Now, the thing to keep in mind is that even assembly line things have all this craft and talent and power behind them, but it’s also the difference between “there’s only one of these statues in the world” versus, like, a Funko Pop. What is at the heart of Scorsese’s complaint is that there are fewer and fewer spaces for his kind of artwork (or the art of his friends) to be displayed and appreciated. His work is being pushed out of the conversation by your David Zaslavs and Bob Igers, whose only goal is to keep growing at all costs, all the way up until the bubble finally bursts.

Disney shareholders know, even if its activist writers and various other creatives don't
the ceo not supporting the gays enough is what pissed off the dyke shareholder enough to bring back R.igger. Why do people seem to think shareholders and board members don't have politics they care about more than money?
coincide with Daily Wire's Snow White release (
thats not going to get many theaters, i'd be surprised if its not just on streaming or an "event" like chosen. its not getting a 3.5k theater multiweek release especially with whatever bullshit rules the kikes over at the Daily Wire will write in the contract.

These people are so assblasted, they're still talking about this man's comments like what, two years later? Grow the fuck up.

Give credit to Marty, he has the "Do Whatever the Fuck You Want" card now in Hollywood.

Disney dropped what should be the two BIG songs of Wish: Asha's big showstopper and Magnifico's villain song.

This song just sucks. It's too poppy, the rhythm is all weird, there are too many words crammed into each line, and half of the lyrics are grammatically incorrect or random gibberish thrown together that sounds kind of good and inspirational- I have genuinely never heard of the phrase "Throw caution to every warning sign." It sounds like they tried to combine "throw caution to the wind" and "ignore every warning sign" but it falls on its face by sounding weird and clunky. The singer has a lovely voice, but it can't save how genuinely terribly constructed the song is.

This song also sucks, because it's supposed to be a villain song but it barely sounds like one. It also suffers from the same too-poppy problem (which is likely because Disney hired a mediocre radio composer chick who is most famous for writing Selena Gomez songs to compose the numbers of this movie instead of a tried and tested Broadway alumn) the little "doot doot doot doo" part in the chorus is annoying, and it again fails for a vast majority of the song to paint the king as anything more than a stressed, overworked monarch who's a bit too full of himself. He randomly goes all psycho-evil in two short stints in the song, which while being the most interesting parts of the song, also feel really bipolar because of how different it is from the rest of the song and what the rest of the song is giving for his characterization. The only plus to this is that Chris Pine sounds like he had fun recording it, and that's an incredibly small plus in a sea of negatives.

If anyone hasn't heard, a couple weeks ago, the final approvals for the new Special Taxation District were completed, and now Universal Studios has the tax cutout and essentially autonomy that Disney used to have (it's a bit different, since Universal is attached to the city proper, instead of out in its own area, but they'll wind up controlling everything (like Disney did) until they fuck it up - the first board members are all Universal employees, and that probably won't change unless they ask for it or piss someone off)). They're getting around a quarter billion dollar cutout as well for a light rail from the airport to Universal as well. Normally light rail is a complete failure, but in this case it could actually work, since it coincides with the expansions of Universal that make a weeklong vacation there viable. So all the tourists that fly in can just rail direct to their hotel instead of using busses or rideshare crap. Essentially Universal will be big enough to host weeklong vacations like Disney used to do, since they've already got the three parks and the "walk" area (most papers ignore the water park, and don't count it, but tourists sure as fuck do), and they're adding another full sized park and a Harry Potter expansion (supposedly as big as the two areas combined, but who knows how much of that is dead space).

Now the following is supposedly what Disney is using to compete with fucking Nintendo world and Harry Potter full land, and it's fucking hilarious (if true):

  • Asha from the new Walt Disney Animation Studios film “Wish” will soon be coming to Epcot. (A new character from a flop no one will care about will get a photo stop)

  • Ahsoka will become part of the "Star Tours" ride at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World Resort beginning in spring 2024. (I'm sure there will be a bunch of soy-faced grins made at this, but a couple CGI inserts aren't going to change anyone's vacation plans)

  • The Hatbox Ghost is coming to the Haunted Mansion attraction in Magic Kingdom in late November 2023. The Hatbox Ghost will be materializing in the Haunted Mansion as you pass the attraction’s Endless Hallway. (See above, except even fewer soy-faced grins)

  • The Country Bear Jamboree is getting new songs and the bears will be performing a new act in Magic Kingdom. (Holy shit. Maybe if they had a Christopher Walken cameo)

  • A new "Pirates of the Caribbean"-themed lounge is coming to Adventureland at Magic Kingdom. (Hopefully it will feature the new girlboss POTC-fail characters)

  • The World Celebration neighborhood in Epcot will open in December 2023. World Celebration will unite the front of the park, tying together the other two new Epcot neighborhoods, World Discovery and World Nature. (Essentially just a new food stand and giftshop to take away viewing space from the lake/fireworks show)

  • A new nighttime show at Epcot called “Luminous: The Symphony of Us” will debut on Dec. 5, 2023. The brand-new show will feature fireworks, fountains, lasers, lighting effects, and music. (By new, they just mean with new music and choreography)

  • Moana will arrive in World Nature on Oct. 16, 2023, and make her first appearance in her own dedicated space at Epcot near "Journey of Water," Inspired by Moana. (This already happened. Didn't you hear about it? It seems like major news. Oh wait, it's just a photo stop instead of a wandering character now)

  • Epcot's "Test Track" will be reimagined by Disney's Imagineers working with teams from Chevrolet. (LOL again. This gets thrown around every few years and will never happen, although they may change the 'showroom' at the end of it.)

  • A new show based on “Zootopia” is being created for the Tree of Life theater at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. (Again, just replacing the Lion King songs and costumes with Zootopia songs and costumes)

  • Walt Disney Imagineering is planning to reimagine Dinoland U.S.A. at Disney’s Animal Kingdom into a new land inspired by a region sometimes referred to as “tropical Americas.” (They're "planning to re-imagine," is code for changing the facades on the restaurants and snack stands.)

Anyway, I thought this was hilariously pathetic. Honestly, I don't think there's any overhauls that Disney could do that would compete with what Universal is doing. They're going to get the customers they were always going to get anyway, and the rot is too deep for them to do anything to increase that. I mean what would you rather do, go ride a Super Mario roller coaster, or see someone in an Asha (remember, she's the girl from Wish! Remember Wish?!) costume under a cheap and soon to be replaced pavilion tent.

iirc this is replacing the Bug's Life 3d movie, not a Lion King thing
Still, glad I'm not mopping that floor

Lol Stitch almost looks like a pitbull. Sanders accidentally predicted the future.
it's also very unlucky considering if you've been on the internet long enough "a love story of a girl and what she thinks is a dog" gets a whole new meaning...

gamergate is almost 10 years old and those people can't stop invoking it's perceived horror.

they will ALWAYS be assblasted, it's their state of being. it part of the reason why they are so shit creators.

EDIT:
What I personally wouldn't give to see a South Park-esque Mickey slapping the shit out of Ziegler. I don't watch South Park anymore, so maybe it's happened.
the whole thing was quite a while after the last season, and if there's another one probably be "old news" at that point.

however....

apparently disney is a quite a bit butthurt about that, if some "content creators" are to be believed (that mike zeroh dude needs to calm the fuck down, I think he made 3 or 4 clickbait videos about it youtube is trying to push on me). maybe they're butthurt enough to recast a troublesome protagonist of their latest movie, who knows...

get ready for new rule 34 of rule 63 kenny
