This year's AM was SAD for Nick. I had someone there (and there were other farmers present) telling is here that Nick was MIA most of the time, he only did 1 panel that folded into the generic 'YTber Panel'. Same, I’ve never watched Kino Casino except for clips posted on the Gunt subforum but listening to them marvel at Rekieta’s descent into lunacy was pretty enjoyable.

They also gave Nick excellent advice about how to stop being butthurt at his KF thread — advice he’s definitely not going to take, of course. “Don’t tell ME not to fixate on my critics! I’ll fuck up my life and continuously humiliate myself if I want to!”

This had been gone over before a number of times now.

Basically, it's difficult for them to get anime guests due to the reputation of John Leigh, the con owner. He's persona non grata within the anime industry due to (among other things) sexual misconduct allegations.

Hosting Vic and his supporters worked for a while, but you're gonna get diminishing returns off that now that the case is basically dead. It wasn't terribly surprising to me that Rekieta drew something of a crowd at the AM before the appeal failed, and this year he experienced a ghost town.
